Should more major enemies drop better stuff?

I don't know if I'm expecting too much, but it seems to me that when I fight "bigger" enemies (i.e., those who are harder to defeat/have more HP than most of the run-of-the-mill enemies in the game), they should drop better/rarer/more valuable items when they die.  Instead, I defeat someone it takes me 10 minutes to kill, who is part of a major or semi-major story-related quest, and they drop...a ring with +3 to defense?  Or a lyrium potion I could find lyng around anywhere?  Come on, that doesn't seem like much of a payoff...how about a rare breastplate or a one-of-a-kind  weapon or something?

On top of that, they need to get rid of junk items.

I get more junk items than useable stuff(not really, but that's what it feels like).

I'll unlock a Master Chest and get a friggen junk item. That's beyond stupid.

The junk section of the inventory should still exist if we want to get rid of stuff, but I think they should refine it by ADDING things to it.

Add a filter for item grabbing. For example, say you have the best sword in the game and don't want extra swords clogging your inventory.

On the filter, you can toggle all looted swords to get insta-junked.

I think a filter like this for weapons, potions, and other things would be great for keeping an inventory clean and easy to manage without having useless junk items or useable items you don't actually need(Lyrium Potions on a Warrior/Rogue, for example).

I agree. I want a shield made from a Dragon's face, or something, when I've spent aaaaaaaaaaaaages taking the ****er down. Not just 17 silver and a mouldy old scarf.

LPPrince, that's a good idea.
And really...I remember defeating a huge dragon and getting a health potion (and nothing else)...I mean, really??
And as far as junk, it's just plain sad when half the time the item descriptions for the junk are more interesting than those for the usable items. Yet, such is the case. :(

You're absolutely right about the loot. It almost seems like whoever set up the parameters for what's found had some twisted sense of reasoning that said, 'any hard fight will only yield junk since monsters don't need any gold/armor/weapons or treasure and won't have any.'

Another place that they can use The Witcher 2 as a model.

I never remember being disappointed in my first playthrough, and I'm happily trodding through my second.

Agreed. It wold be nice to get a unique loot from unique enemies and bosses. As a matter of fact, I feel the amount of generic loot needs to be cut down. Especially as far as the rings/amulets/belts are concerned. I had more of those than junk.

Rings/Amulets/Belts became the 'new' junk loot for DA2 with me finding them like candy all over. Finding those items wasn't bad, it was the '3 Star Ring +16 attack' that was exactly alike all the others for example.

Junk loot almost became a humor loot item so that Lieutenant level-type bosses carried rusted spoons and moldy scarves.

Here's a bold idea. Along with better loot for the big bosses.. how about.. wait for it.. more than three types of enemies?

Thanks. I thought so too. Figured it'd be a good way to keep people from spending too much time running through their inventories throwing out individual things.

Would've been a nice way to fix ME1's inventory rather than SCRAPPING IT ALTOGETHER.

Those poor rag dolls...why did they all get moldy? The manufacturer should have treated them with antifungal agents before selling.. :P
