So one of the many missed opportunities I find in DA2 is playing a mage in hiding. There's a lot of drama and humour to be had in playing an apostate in the very anti-mage Kirkwall that I feel wasn't as explored as it could have been. (but that may have resulted in diverging storylines bassed on your class and we can't have diverging storylines!)
One thing that I know bugged a few people was walking around in the open in mage robes (I loved the 'this isn't a staff, it's totally a spear, look at the pointy bit' mage staffs, which would have been helped by having actual pole-arms in game but I digress) there are one or two sets of mage robes that don't look like robes in game, one of which is the champion gear but I would have liked an option to pick up gear like Merrill and Anders which aren't to-the-floor robes and could be passed off as something else. I also feel that when it came to mixing armor mages loose out since you never see your gloves and boots change when wearing robes so I tried to keep the design to allow for that.

So here are three designs I've come up with:

I tried to keep them looking less-epic then the champion gear and unisex enough that they wouldn't need much tweeking between the gender models. The only one I'm not too happy with is #2, it still looks a bit too much like a dress when I was going for a coat.
#3 is probably my favorite even though it goes against the 'mixing gloves and boots' rule... I just have a weakness for asymmetry and pointy grieves I think.

Oh, wow. Those look great!

I agree that the second one is a bit dress-like, but they're all still awesome.

Sleeves are what come to mind. Might be a stylistic choice of the OP's but your standard Medieval Europe inspired fantasy does not allow for freezing arms. Case in point Bethany's rather Renaissance detachable sleeves.

Now if you'll excuse me the OP's sketches have inspired me to stay up till 1:00 making drawings of overly detailed robes for no good reason.

I love these! #2 is actually my favourite I like that it's a little fancy while still being practical. I'm a huge fan of the DLC mage coat for the same reason.

Sez the guy whose mind clearly has a regulars' table in the gutter.

Fo realz tho', these robes are beautiful, #3 being the best in my personal opinion. It kinda reminds me of Malcom Hawke's coat. Now we just need a good modeller and a toolset (HINT BIOWARE!) to bring these ideas to solid, wearable fruition.

Number one is very similar to the mage DLC armor, I like it alot btw, i like red colour, black is ok, but any new armor should include red/white/yellow/green/ect. hehe!

I like *all* of these, but I would be over the moon if they appeared in colors that weren't red. Yes, I know that red is kind of Hawke's color, but there's too much red stuff already. How about some greens, blues, and purples? Maybe even together... :D

Seriously, though, these robes would be awesome.

Well, #2 doesn't have any red on it at all.

Also, these all look like the would work really well with the material tint system.

You know, if anyone who really knew her tints were to think about doing something with these.

Thanks for all the feedback! I tried to include bits of red into it because I'm a Fenris fangirl and love the red favor he gets (I think isabella gets one too doesn't she?) so wanted some little possible origins for it.
I might put some grayscale versions up and people can mess around with colours themselves X3

Three designs are really nice, I love number 3 and the scarf detail. Really nice work!
