Does anyone else want the companions to return for the DA2 DLC?

If we are going to a new area then it would make sense (from a production point of view, not sure about story) for Varric and Aveline to travel along with Hawke. Introduce a friendly new mage and you've got a complete party. Now, if that mage happened to be Morrigan... no, that'll never happen. :-(
If this is an Awakening-style expansion (which I really hope for) then a few new companions would be nice.

Yes, I want at least some of them to return, especially Hawke's LI. Please don't give us an Awakening type of letter from your LI! I want my Hawke to have her LI by her side.
Yess!!
I want my team back and most of all the LI. Would be really great to listen to some new banter and seeing new sides to my companions. Currently in ME2, have done three Hawks so far so I took a little break. One swing through the ME-universe and I'll be back to DA2. I really enjoy all of them and would miss the alot if they were not in the dlc.
Hmmm.... but I know that I would get any dlc simply because I had so much fun in DA2. But I would be much happier if the companions came with it.

The reason I did not buy witch hunt or golems was that the absense of Zevran made absolutely no sense for my wardens so it is a bit of a deal breaker for me.
I'm hoping that BW always planned the inclusion of the companions and booked and budgeted the costs of the VAs already.
At the very least, for post DA2 DLC, the LIs should be there.

Though Bioware if you bring back Oghren as an "old favorite friend", you guys are effing dead to me.

I prefer Oghren over all (but varric and aveline) DA2's companions. A cliche drunk dwarf, but better than Cloud, the emo anorexia chick, and the pirate hooker.

I'm no fan of Merrill or Anders but I'll put up with them if I can get Fenris and Isabella back, it'll be good to see Varric and Aveline too

On the bright side, the Dragon Age series had a good run of one game lol

As an FYI, Aveline can get booted from the party in act 3. Varric is really the only one who can't get lost. I'd say bring back Varric AND Ohgren! A warrior and a rogue. All you need is a mage companion and the party is set!

I didn't really like the companions in DA2. They were almost universally obsessive and one-dimensional. Made worse by the fact that interaction with them was done in brief, shallow snippets.
As for the DLC screenshots, their presentation reeks of shiny baubles meant to distract from larger concerns, namely the huge flaws in DA2. But who cares, here have some griffons!
I have to agree completely.

The Dragon Age hate is pretty stifling sometimes. Also, whats wrong with Ohgren?! Its Steve Freakin Blume man! Spike Speagel as a dwarf! Or Wolverine! That guy is a legend of voice acting.

Why not bring them all back so everyone's happy? BW create diverse characters to increase the likelihood that most players will like *someone*, there's nothing *wrong* with Oghren, I just don't like him.
I think that having all the companions available increases the enjoyment for the largest number of people, we don't all like the same things

And yeah with the whole crew available, but i'd like that for any DLC.
Asmuch as I hate them at times, I love them all in the end. Cept maybe Anders.. I'm very torn =P

Getting the companions back in a DLC is fairly expensive because of the voice acting. It is also hard to sync the schedules of the voice actors (which all have their own work and projects). One way to avoid a bit of that is to record the voice acting during the development time of DA2. So, we may be lucky with the first DLC. The same is true for the PC voice actors. Like other DLCs for DA:O we may see that even the player character will be replaced by another one. One or both happened in the last 4 DLCs for DA:O and Awakening. So, I don't think we have much of a choice here. It all depends on the budget for and schedules of the voice actors.
Pantomime. Pantomime would solve this issue.

Haha. Stop that! I nearly derailed a similar thread in the past by joking about that.shantisands wrote...

After all, the choices weren't very interesting and I was more concerned with surviving and not being caught by the Templars as I was a mage.
I didn't have time to fraternize to any degree that I'd actually "fall in love".

Merrill just didn't fit the persona she had in Origins, IMO.
There's your problem right there. You assumed they wrote her to actually be like her persona in Origins. Fact is, they diliberately took her away from that persona. Which, IMO, was a smart move. I liked Merrill in DA2. In Origins, she seemed very...well...for lack of a better word, two-dimensional and/or generic.
