I guess I missed the part in ME1 or ME2 where he did something totally awesome. He usually just talked about how regulations suck whenever I interacted with him.

I'd say Shepard has a way of either bending them all to his will, or getting them out of the way. And he can do it while being considerate and helping out the needy to boot, which is really even more badass.

Aside from Thane, I don't really think we have any "badass" squaddies. Garrus is a close call, but there really is nothing that sets him apart from your average turian mercenary. /opinion

Garrus is one of my favourites in the ME universe and I think he's badass, but he's not one of the biggest when one considers all of the other video games (characters) out there, imo.

Garrus isn't even half the badass Saren and Nihlus were. I do like Garrus but catchphrases and talking about reach and flexibility and also headbutting Harkin isn't enough to make him so.

Garrus is my favorite character in ME, period, but I honestly don't know if I've ever described him as 'badass' myself. Wrex and Zaeed (Canderous) take the cake in terms of badassery.

Garrus definitely ranks high in my 'sexiest video game characters' list, however.
