Does the lowering of willpower requirements on gear make it easier to make a constitution specced blood mage?

Highest req is 18, so..
Vestments of the Mystic - +2
Sandals of the Mystic +1
Enchanted Silverite Chain Belt +1
Ring of Resilience - +1
Air of Confidence - +1
Meghan Vael's Locket - +1
Dull Brass Amulet - +1
The Hands of Fate - +1
Rune of Valiance - +2
What's your base WIL? 12? You can meet your req pretty damn easy, with a lot of different items.

I gave the patch a new whirl today. I play nightmare without friendly fire courtesy of a friendly modder. I enjoy the melee rogue. I like the assassin actually sticking people with daggers. Although many of the handbooks went with duelist-assassin, I found my own play to be easier with shadow-assassin, and it seemed to fit better RP-wise too. So, the changes benefitted me in that regards. Before the patch, there were times when I would use a bow. Now, I think that I will be able to melee like I want through it all. The play is actually faster. The mature dragon and even the party at the nexus golem seemed to go down quicker. I don't think it is necessarily easier either, but I wasn't playing the same party side-by-side patch vs no patch. Still, in terms of the rogue, I'd have to say I like the changes. In terms of less HP with big dragons, I'd have to say I LOVE the changes! (I don't like becoming bored to death waiting for the dragon to die.)
From Arelex's observation, the berserker may be the go-to warrior now. I always liked the nova 2H build better than the berserker. I got bored with basic attacks. But I may give it another try.
I haven't tried Merrill yet. I have the feeling that her blood magic may make her more fragile than ever. I hope she doesn't become another need for micromanagement. I'll have to experiment.
Varric seemed to do well as always.

For a PC blood mage at least, it ain't so bad. With 4 conversion items and blood lust you get a 4 to 1 ratio which you can get by on. Remember that the savings on willpower can be dumped in to con. Plus the upgrade to one foot in really helps. Merrill has the problem where she can't wear as many blood conversion items as you though.

shadow assassin is better than duelist assassin, shadow assassin is better than ANYTHING, pre and post patch. i picked duelist assassin because it is, in my eyes, more enjoyable.
templars, along with 2h, really got the short end of the stick with this patch.

Pre-Patch 1.03, I have played S&S fighter, 2 hand nova fighter, 2 hand berserker, archer, and shadow assassin. I thought the archer was easiest, but I loved the 2 hand nova fighter. It required the least micromanagement from me. So "better" is in the eye of the beholder. Now if you mean it was most powerful, in some fights I would agree. In other fights, it wasn't the most powerful for me; however, that could be because you are a better player than me.
EDIT: Having played my rogue a little more with the patch. I think that the pendulum may have swung too far. I think the monsters need a few more HP than they have now. The big bosses could stand with a little less than they had to begin with (particularly the high dragon), but the ogres, emissaries, and other middle tier junk need more HP than they have with 1.03. I also like the fact that my melee rogue is not interrupted as much, but I think some attacks should interrupt him - like the egolem's special explosion attack. Of course, these comments come from limited play time with only the rogue PC. Still, many of the expert players are complaining that the game is easier in general now.

Well, I am happy with the patch. I just wished they had fixed some more of the broken abilities.
