The Grand Cleric is dead, mages and templars are rebelling, Circles are falling... But there is one decision that is left unmade. Who's side are you on?!

Is it ok if I don't choose?

I don't care enough for either side. Both sides were shown to be corrupt, feeble, and stupid in DA2. There's no one to root for and the argument is unknown to me. It started off as a 'personal freedom vs public safety' thing but then BAM! A building blows up, a crazy person wants to kill all the crazy people, another crazy person goes crazy.

And then all the crazy people are dead but somehow there's a global war going on despite this being an isolated incident of a bunch of crazy idiots going crazy.

And a tiki idol fits in there too.

So I have no idea why the other Circles are rebelling or why the Templars broke away from the Chantry and frankly I don't give a **** either. **** both sides.

EDIT:

Also it won't be a damn war. Sandel's whole "magic will return, he will rise" thing screams that some big event will stop the war before one side crushes the other. And that's if the Qunari don't invade. The faithful (Templars) and the saarabas (Mages) would team up to stop the Qunari horde before allowing them to take over.

It's not going to end with one side winning. And if it did it would a rail-roaded ending so the next game makes sense. So the whole war is one big 'who gives a ****' to me.

I wish I knew.

Heck, I am just going to form my own band of "Assassins of Idiots".
90% of Kirkwall is a target.

Does Wesley count as being a citizen of Kirkwall? If so, 89% of Kirkwall should be your targets.

Regardless of which side I'm on, I'll no doubt end up performing the same actions as if I'd chosen the other side, with the same consequences. So I guess I'll just flip a coin, or something.

Diplomacy if at all possible, with concessions to the mages within reason. If that doesn't happen there is big troubles ahead because as the wise Viscount observed the Qunari are sitting there waiting like Gargoyles ready to strike. One reason they got spanked before was due to the willingness to use the full force of mages against them. They would like nothing better than to have the mages rebelling.

If I had my way I'd happily tell all mages that wanted to be free that we have lined up two lovely islands for them and they have a choice which one they want to go to. Par Vollen or Scheron.

My own. I'm not sure sailing the seas on the Siren Call II counts as choosing a side. I tried siding with the mages but they made me wonder why I bothered.

Sure, making a conscious decision to not choose any side but your own, is choosing. Now, if you just woke up and *found* yourself out to sea without you knowing about it before hand...that is different.   Potentially interesting, and likely someone elses choice :P

I think Varric's comment was the best.  "I'm sick of mages and templars."

My Ostagar scout (rogue-archer) will probably find some naive, pretty young thing, head off to the woods, and never be seen or heard from again.  Until that couple's young kids wander off a little too deep into the woods and happen across a gingerbread house, occupied by .... wait for it ... Flemeth.

Come to think of it, a variation of the **I'm sick of both sides and am out of here** feeling is probably what caused Flemeth to vanish into the 'Wilds so many centuries ago.  Now she gets a lot of visitors.  And they come in hordes.

I WANT TO PLAY * FLEMETH * IN DA3!!!

I have been in several interesting situations following a night of the same, but pressganged...no. Not to my recollection.   The cosplay shop may have been closed.

It would have to be a one-night stand.  Anything more serious (marriage, love affair, or shared shopping experiences) would just end very, very badly.
