Do you perfer the specifc debuffs of origins to the health bar chunks in 2?

What about injury kits?

and the ability to go back to camp/home and remove them all for free?

How if at all should charaters be penalized for falling in battle?

I think the health chunks is a better attempt at encapsulating costs. The problem (as the other thread suggests) is that the kits are too common, so you can just handwave injuries away. While I suggested a more complicated mechanism in another thread, I would say that just removing kits entirely and allowing you to heal back at 'base camp' is the best approach.
