Yea, I know this has probably been asked before...

But I'm having trouble 'reading' what happened in that scene.

"I just want things to go right for once"

So is that a 'were better off as just friends'
or a 'let make it go right together'

What's the official stance on this?  Did it happen or not?

Well in my one playthrough where femshep romanced Garrus she didn't end up with a broken pelvis, so I'd say no.

Mhm. Any femShep+Garrus lovins would be too brutal to complete the final mission, maybe to survive.

Simple answer: Yup, they had sex.

For all we know, all LIs in ME2 only got to cuddle or make out. So, maybe...

Ok well seems like we have a bit of a mixed bag here.

For the people saying they wouldn't be able to 'do it' without the result of a broken pelvis...well why do you say so?

I'm not sure if in any of the books, or the codecis it explains about Turian copulation so I'm not entirely sure how it works for them but Mordin seemed confident that such a thing could work, granted with some adjustments.

Well, Mordin Solus told them to be careful, and use oil and stuff... And FemShep can respond with: I care for Garrus, you are not going to scare me off.. or something like that.
I take it as a: They had sex. ;)

Well LotSB helps in confirming that they at least start to become a couple at the end of ME2

When talking to Liara, femshep says "I never thought I'd find peace in the arms of a turian"

Liara will also add "I hope you two find happiness Shepard"

and of course you get a paramour achievement and are able to invite garrus up after the final mission so it’s pretty evident that he's a proper romance option like everyone else and continues to be one after the game. .

The "I want something to go right, just once" line was a declaration from garrus about how this moment was as important as the other moments in his life that (unfortunately) didn't work out. Shepard stroking his face, followed by their foreheads touching and garrus stroking her arm show that the tone of the relationship had changed from how it had started (two best friends just blowing off steam before a suicide mission) into something more. So it wasn't a "let’s just be friends" moment because you can actually choose that option when you turn him down at the final scene. That means it was a "let’s make this go right" moment for sure. Now onto the "did they, didn't they?" , well, that's up for interpretation

For me, I think that because their relationship was initially the one most about sex out of all the Li’s makes it ironic and sweet to think that they laid in each other’s arms in the end. On the other hand there’s no reason why they didn't sleep together either (considering all the planned effort on both their parts) but I like that its left a bit vague because everyone's shepard is different but who knows maybe we get some details in the next game, they did leave us hanging with those two.

Nah, that was pretty obvious. Since it blacks out in ME2, it's up to anyone's imagination/interpretation.

Yup this. We don't need to discuss this further. You explained it all! ^_^

Turians have an exoskeleton, that means they get a literal "boner". There's a reason why Mordin offers painkillers to femshep ya know.

Shepard is a tough woman... She can handle it all without the painkillers! B)

I'd say you're free to interpret the ME2 romance scenes as you like. Miranda's romance scene is pretty...obvious, though, in my opinion.

Thanks for that.

That was actually a really romantic way to see it in. I saw all those scenes in the game, but I never interpreted it quite the way you did. That is very sweet! Warm fuzzies.

I like this more now actually. I think if they were actually show having sex it would have taken away from it. For me it was a bit like 'if they didn't have sex it means their relationship won't work out' but that's horribly incorrect, and probably a result of the 'western world's teachings' where romance seems to be extinct.

But they didn't, and it does work out, and they are actually in love, not JUST blowing off steam as you said. I think it's nice.

Could you provide some reference for this please?  I mean I'm sure the codecis talk about the exoskeleton, but I want sources for the rest. How did you conclude that?

Fix'd.

FemShep is Iron Lady. She gets to break pelvises, not the other way around.

On topic, there are so many different ways of "doing it", even between 2 humans. I'm sure Shepard and any of the LI may well have "done it", one way or the other.

Seriously, why do people always assume it's penetrative? It's even more dissappointing than people always assuming it's heterosexual. I have a Widow Anti-Material Rifle, but it doesn't mean I have to snipe for every kill, right? Get an imagination. Live life to the fullest.

You know, I've been wondering that as well. They obviously attempted to bed each other. What I want to know is whether they were successful or not. I have my dark suspicions about that. Since Garrus didn't watch the vids...

You know, I received an unpleasant surprise when he declared that he didn't watch the vids. Didn't he promise to do research? Or did he just decide it's going to happen on its own, somehow? Even purely human partners could have trouble, due to the newness and nervousness. My FemShep listened with attention to Mordin's advice, and she wasn't happy to learn that Garrus didn't do HIS homework. Looks like it wasn't as important to him as he claimed, after all.

I can just imagine the aftermath, FemShep and Garrus cuddling, and her trying to console him, telling him that it doesn't change anything...or maybe them both celebrating that they somehow managed to make it work?

How frustrating. Romancing is structured in such a way that consummation is the pinnacle of the relationship (haha), and I don't even get to see the outcome. I wish I could hear them talking afterwards. Did they manage or did they not? Blew off the steam, or created more stress?

Garrus: "Hopefully that's not offensive in human culture. Crap. I knew I should have watched the vids. Throw me a line, here, Shepard."

Do your homework, Garrus, and you won't have to worry about what's offensive and what works for a human in bed - you'd just know. If it's as important for you as you say, that is.
