Ok I have a couple questions. I have seen the game played and have played single player but I do not own the game. I am going to be purchasing the game for myself and another copy for a friend of mine who lives in another country. What mods and modules should I look for to play with my friend? How would I set things up... some points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I have played single player and have some basic grasps of the game but am ready to play online with my friend. Thank you.

Elhanan's link is a module designed for people wanting to be Dungeon Masters in NWN, and I recommend a play-through regardless. A lot more people would be running games if they knew how fun and easy it is and I definitely encourage you to give it a try.

It sounds to me, however, that you just want to give cooperative game play a try. If so there is a great introduction here...

Thanks a lot, both of you have been a lot of help... I don't think this is the game for us. We just want to play a cooperative game where we can build characters and enjoy, NWN seems too roleplay oriented. I love single player and would love to just do that but with my friend and perhaps others.

If you prefer action to roleplay, check out Higher Ground. It's been the top-rated NWN server about 6 years running, and is still under development. Not much roleplay to speak of, and a bustling, friendly community. Link's in my signature.

Yeah... If you want to hack and slash don't even bother with modules and hosting and all that stuff. Find a persistent world you like on the multiplayer "action" menu. Having a friend on a PW can make your life a lot easier.
