We've all played through the adventures of various Shepards but I'm certain that there are times where, no offense to the VAs who do an awesome job, we have a particular kind of voice in mind for our Shepards. Does your Shepard have a gruff and weary voice ala Solid Snake? Or maybe something more smooth and melodious?

HEY, that's something ME should've had! Veer and Hale voicing their characters in a few different accents!

And watch as their performance becomes even worse.
I'm sure the sheer amount dialogue that has to be recorded may be why Meer/Hale's acting in Mass Effect isn't all too grand.

Claudia Black.
I said Browder and you said Black. Together, I think we're on to something.

Ben Browder of Farscape fame.
Huge surprise there, eh.
the only reason I began watching Farscape was because of Browder and Black from seeing them in SG1 haha.
as for me I could go with Ben Browder or Joe Flanagan (Col. John Shepard SG Atlantas) and not because of the name. Jason Momoa (might have messed up the last name) would do a good Krogan imo hehe.
this isn't to say I don't like Marks performance though.

They aren't trying to force a particular emotion on lines that don't imply a particular emotion and they are trying to make each line come off as if it doesn't need the other lines for support. The former is preferrable to the voice actor setting the emotional tone for my Shepard. The last part is a failure on the part of the writters.
