And say the stronger gets recruited, the other dies.

For paragons, Morinth is a monster space vampire who was about to nom on his mind. Maybe for renegades, but I don't think it would be a good thing to do.

One could say that it is one of the plot points that are part of the story, and to let the player choose his or her preferred character.

That choice really ticked me off, though. Same with choosing Anderson or Udina as Councillor. I'd rather just let the game make a random choice.

There's also the fact that they could both kill each other.

If you DON'T use the Paragon or Renegade dialog choices with Morinth in the apartment, Shepard does not intervene in the resulting fight. The end result is that Samara wins.

Ah, damn! First time I played  I didn't have enough point to do the moral dialogue choices. Thought button-mashing made me accidentally choose Samara. Well, that's cleared up. Thanks!

Well hell, didn't know that. So Samara is stronger?

That'd be kinda awkward though.

Samara: what the hell? why'd you just stand there??
Shepard: I just wanted to make sure I got the stronger one.

Also if you don't intervene and Morinth wins there's no guarantee she'll play ball. With Samara you at least have her oath.

No. Shepard automatically sides with Samara, you don't get a choice in the matter.

Not really: Shepard just sides with Samara by default.

Shepard is always the decisive element.

even tho i allways have enuf renegade points ( i do Samara mission last ) to use it with Morinth..i never choose her in the fight ...i did choose her once and i felt so dirty i had to replay the mission...the renegades that choose Morinth over Samara are really "sick" (i play renegade too but i have limits)

Yes, because clearly you are an authority on other people's reasons for such a decision.

My guess is because when furniture is flying around at 55 MPH, you tend to try and stop it from doing that. Lol

The game doesn't give any compelling reason to recruit Morinth Paragon OR Renegade, besides the novelty of "I recruited Morinth lulz".

By far the most underutilized and half-assed squadmate in either game.

Well, we're not given a reason for recruiting Samara either (TIM had us pick up one insane uber biotic already so we really don't need another). Killing Samara, on the other hand, would at least keep the AY body from Cerberus research teams and Morinth can always be killed in action on the Collector base (Uriah gambit)

Cerberus isn't able to recover her body if she dies.

Samara has dealt with the Ardat-Yakshi. She remains loyal to Shepard
personally. Loyalty of the justicar beyond question, given apparent
bonds of oath rendered to Shepard. Better than hoped. Cerberus
activities will not be affected further by presence of Shepard's team.
Relieved to have justicar' mission completed. Unfortunately, body of
Ardat-Yakshi could not be taken for study.
Genetic abnormality could
have been useful. Subject's expertise would have made her a valuable
team member if sociopathic tendencies were mitigated.

Totally worth it for Dominate though.

My Engineer Shep has both Dominate and AI Hacking... :D

Cerberus isn't able to recover her body if she dies.

That fact wasn't known to Shepard when he had to make the decision whether to kill Samara or Morinth; thus it is completely irrelevant.

i try to RP  as logical as i can so a spell like that ( it was said many times that dominate and reave are more of a fantasy spells than  SF biotic powers... and i tend to agree) on my soldier or infiltrator has no logic ...on an engineer  too ..

He didn't have time, personally I was upset that he didn't just snap Morinth's neck while she was occupied.
