Wussup yall I wanted to share my first impesson of nightmare difficoulty in Dragon Ag 2. Before this I passed it on hard numerous times and finally it gotten a little boring for me so I turned it up. I used to always play origins on nightmare mode in face thats the only good more for me in there. So I was thinking meh how hard can it be in Dragon Age 2 just aim those spells a little more carefully and we should be g2g,
I was thinking its gonna exactly same as in dragon age origins well big mistake. I turned it on and it was ok first fight. Next fight Anders got swarmed by mobs and I had him run straight to my warrior ofcourse, only to find him butchered by my warriors regular attacks. Now I'm like WTF how to hell im supposed to avoid my melles, how im supposed to have a rogue and warrior on same target? Rgue will get slaughtered, so obviously there is more to nightmare mode than I'm thinking anything else I might be missing? Does this mean I need to have a group with 3 ranged dps? Is it worth even playing on this difficulty now since its gonna get nerfed in next patch and warriors wont hit allies anymore?
First time switch to Nightmare mode

If you have a 2 handed warrior companion (Fenris) your rouge should be ranged (can be melee, but will require pausing for repositioning every couple of seconds).

New patch coming out removes friendly fire on auto-attacks. Abilities will still hurt your team though.

Hard is optimal difficulty for DA2. Nightmare is for egow*nk.

I play on nightmare, I like melee FF. I played with melee companions and positioned each one tactically to avoid hitting each other or sent them after enemies that they were better suited to take out fast...I liked it.
A toggle would have been nice, a nerf of Nightmare Melee FF is not welcome news for me

to OP, if you want two companions to attack the same target and not FF each other, at least till the "patch"
comes out.
you have to position them where they cannot hit each other, so for example one person in front of the enemy and one person behind if one is a TH warrior, a bit more forgiving is its a SnS warrior, you can do 90 degree angles.
I found it fun to do it but I like to control what my toons do as opposed to hitting the awesome button and watching blood fly...

Wow, you're a masochist. That's impressive that you were able to play around that. You were one of the very few, maybe even the only. Hopefully someone comes out with a mod that can return it to how you enjoy it.

I played with 2 sometimes 3 melees on nightmare aswell, but after a while i started to like less pausing... and that is just not an option unless you like seeing chunks of your own team flying past you.
seeing as skills will still mow your team down, after the patch your 2 hander will only be auto attacking or killing your team, just the same

I think anyone who's played a warrior or rogue class on NM has had to use tactical positioning at some point, for forced companion quests, so I'm not the only one, I actually just did Fenris's bitter pill quest as a TH warrior the other day again and I remember having a little snicker about positioning Hawke and Fenris so that they didn't destroy each other. It was fun for me, but I assume not for others.
