I hope the siblings will be in a DLC. My Hawke misses her sulky little brother
And mine misses her Sunshine.
Yes, I love Bethany. A LOT.
Perse, that kind of love is only sanctioned in West Virginia.
*confirmed* Siblings return in future DLC

Unfortunately no, they are not unique specializations. Bethany will have Force Mage and Carver will be a Templar (regardless if they go warden or circle/templars). I guess it's just a Hawke family thing to have those specializations.
Great. So, in other words, BioWare is doing what anyone with the console enabled has been doing for months.
While you're at it, maybe you can also follow the rest of the mod community's example of offering high-res textures for DLC.
I understand the need to attend to console-based players, but, seriously. This is the best you can do? This isn't even a last-minute fix. This is an "Oh, yeah - to be completely honest, we weren't even paying attention to what we were doing when we made the game." Likewise for the two-handed friendly fire, by the way (again, something modders corrected for you months ago).
Undercut development time isn't even an acceptable excuse in this case, considering that we're literally talking about what could've been one entry in a .gda file per character if it had been done right the first time.
I recently finished Mass Effect 2, which is probably the best game I've played in my entire life. From the same studio. Now, I compare DA 2 and the sentiments of this thread to Mass Effect 2, and it just makes me wonder: what went wrong?
Don't get me wrong: I dig this game, thus my criticism. If I outright hated it, I wouldn't be posting here.
I just don't understand (nor do I think it's been adequately explained) why it has taken nearly a full quarter to correct problems that are indicative of a beta, and that have been evident and adequately reported since launch.
Honestly, I'm glad I went from DA 2 to Mass Effect 2, and not the other way around. Imagine the letdown in that case.

Imagine going from ME2 and DAO to DA2. It was horrible I tell you. Just horrible.

Because they were meant to be killed off in the game early.

Carver was just an whiney 'son of a female dog warrior' if I recall. I dont remember anything about templar in the "prologue" bit at all.

Or Wardens train templar bootleg equivalents through recruits like Alistair to fight darkspawn mages.

How? Alistair's excuse was his templar training.

I'm not interested in justification from fans who are willing to bend over backwards. I'm looking for some legitimate effort from the DA II dev team at this point. Implementing a new talent tree more or less consists of the following:Nah, that could justified in any number of ways.
1. Writing new scripts for each new ability to be implemented, if applicable.
2. Composing or updating .gda files, as relevant.
3. Updating talktables to include said abilities.
4. Designing new icons for each ability (arguably the most time-consuming task, unless the designers are able to recycle existing glyphs; this is pretty likely, considering we're talking about Bethany and Carver and not a new, unique companion)
This process doesn't take months. Sitting around on one's thumb takes months. The above process takes a day.

What do you want? A Resentful Little Brother spec for Carver and a Just Say No to Incest spec for Bethany?

Its not incest if they're sisters!
I'd prefer nothing more to do with the siblings, only would make sense if it was a 'prologue' before DA2 started. Like an Origin story.
