This is the first time this has ever happened. Never had the problem with Origins, Awakenings and it worked fine for DA:2 last week.....
I have made no changes on my computer except for updating the driver on my ATI Video card and that was ten days ago when things were working fine.

This has also started happening to me within the last week. I am getting this:

This is happening every time I start the game. As with Melca, I have made no changes that should affect this.

I noticed that a few days ago as well. I didn't think anything of it until I finally had to log in and can't. Worst timing ever. So, yeah, another 'didn't change anything but the server now hates me' poster.

There seem to have been a flurry of these problems the last week or so. There was mention of it in one of the Origins tech threads and the devs are aware of it and looking into it. The last time this happened with Origins, they had to track down a change to a server that wasn't even under their control, so try to be patient.
In the meantime, the following fix has worked for a few people. It is worth a try if you are able. This may work if you either have a backup of your DA2 settings folder from before you lost authorization or if you are running Vista or Windows 7. First, save a copy of the Documents\\BioWare\\DragonAge2\\Settings folder and put it someplace safe.
If you have a backup of the settings folder from before you lost authorization, replace the one currently in the directory with the backup. Disconnect your computer from the internet so that the game cannot deauthorize the dlc again. Start the game and set it to not log in under the options menu. See if your dlc is not playable and if so, continue to play offline until the authorization issues are fixed.
If you do not have a backup and are running Windows 7 or Windows Vista, backup the settings folder. Right click on each file in the folder and select properties. Select the far right tab at the top and look for a restore-able version of the file from before the dlc became unauthorized. As above, disconnect your computer from the internet, load the game and set it to play offline then load your game and see if you can access the dlc.

I have exactly the same problem!
@Sami Jo, I tried doing what you told me but the latest version of the settings is from when I lost the authorization, sigh.
I guess I just have to wait for them to fix the problem! *fingerscrossed*

bleysofamber - I just set a temporary password and was able to successfully login as you to Dragon Age 2 for the PC.
Have you tried launching the game with your antivirus/firewall temporarily disabled or with the game DragonAge2.exe and da2updater.exe added to the exception list?
Please post back with more information so we can get this resolved for you.

replaced router with modem can now connect to DA servers!
but I now don't have wi-fi. Why would my router be causing this fault????/

Routers often have firewall programs installed on them. If the router was blocking the ports the game is using, then the router would block the game even if your computer was not. Your router should have come with documentation explaining how to access it and alter the settings. If you no longer have the documentation, try the manufacturer web site.

With some routers, the wifi is not activated by default. As sami jo mentioned, you may need to go into the router setup and access the settings to initialized the wifi component of your router.
