The Demo is okay but the damned thing froze on me in mid battle. If the demo is gonna freeze what does that say about the completed version?

Don't worry LPPrince will be along in a minute to confirm the freezing is a good thing.

Lol.

Well yeah in some area's the demo was weak, and I expect the freezing is just a problem with the demo, But the game just seems like a darker "what Fable 2-3 should have been" sort of title, I think it'll be pretty good though.

It says the completed version won't freeze, since the demo is an old build thats still buggy and since been patched for the main release.

You can delete the demo right now. If you unlocked the items, they are linked to your EA account and you have no need to keep the demo on your hard drive.

Go ahead, delete it. No need to keep it.

This game would be very good were it not for the combat. Button mashing and quick time events for the lose. It's a pity, because the writing and setting seem quite good.

There's a fix for that, but being a 360 gamer I don't recall what it is. You have to turn something off, check the main thread here- http://social.biowar...3/index/8961823

Ok disabled post processing and now i can see, i thought for a moment that when it said that you had to escape the blackness the developers went crazy and you had to play the game in black.:)

That's what it was.

Glad you got that worked out.

Throw down some specifics. What about the dialogue irks you?

Just an FYI: the demo is also available on steam and the full game will be available there as well.

There's actually 2 fixes for the black screen:

The other is, if you're using an ATI card, uncheck the box that leaves Anti-Aliasing up to the game settigs. But after I did that, I noticed some slow down with my Radeon HD 6950m and I have no clue what Post-Processing does.

Played through it, and it wasn't too bad. I'd probably get it during a sale rather than pay full price for it though, unless the reviews are all glowing. It did have a similar vibe to DA2 though, or maybe it'd be more accurate to state it the other way around. I like the leveling system though. It certainly allows for customization. I did not like the psychic guards though.

I played until the game crashed on me, which was sometime soon after having left the tower. Up until that point, I thought of some of the console games I had played in the past such as... well, honestly, just the one time I played Ocarina of Time. Okay, maybe also when I played Psychonauts which is really a game of similar vein, but the fantasy setting makes me think more Zelda and less Tim Schafer.

Whatever, the point is the demo crashed on me so this is likely the only critique you're going to get:

I suck at playing these types of games on a mouse/keyboard set-up. The game was trying to tell me to hold down x for some kind of special attack. Well, I was also trying to hit the spacebar and WASD to dodge. I might have tried to throw in a LShift to block. There was much camera shifting to get the correct target. In the end, I held down x and smashed the left mouse button and hoped that the enemy was just dumb enough to stand there.

Perhaps to say the demo crashed then is completely the wrong assessment. I'm sure LPPrince will inform me that what the demo actually did was take pity upon my technique and frustration and shut the game down rather than let me continue with my ridiculous display of "gaming."

I'll try again when I can play the demo on the XBox 360 and a controller. Considering I'm 90% sure I'll be playing ME3 on the 360 anyway, I'd need to play it on the 360 if I want my DLC armor that I'm not going to use anyway.

Well, just tried Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning's demo. It's a real piece
of trash. What kind of action-rpg doesn't have a jump button these
days? Also... The graphics... Oh my God they're horrible. It feels like
they put Fable and WoW in a blender and we got this. The gameplay is
also pretty bland compared to some other video games I played before. I
don't really like playing a silent protagonist, I don't like how they
used a dialogue wheel for a character that is meant to be blank
anyway... I had lots of trouble upgrading my stuff in the demo, I didn't
know where to go, I got lost (which is the point of a free-roam RPG)
but I didn't know where to purchase my potions. So yeah... The demo was a
huge deception. And I'm not speaking of the many bugs I encountered
here and there, there graphical glitches and etc. They wanted to make
this game sound professional and all, but it feels like a huge rehash of
games I already played before with a World of Warcraft atmosphere. A
huge disappointment so far. Back to Skyrim it is.

I have mixed feelings of this.
*spoilers ahead I gues

As far as the story goes its forgettable. I felt no desire to continue as it felt like Oh yes you were dead now your not woopidy doo.
The combat is where this game truly shines though. I've seen people say "hack and slash" when my idea of hack n slash doesn't mean dodging and timing blocking and switching between weapons on fly. My first impression was more akin to God of War than anything else.

I had fun playing around with the different play styles but ultimately stayed with a mage/rogue style. If anything is gonna get me to buy this its the various why combat can go. Take note people this is how QTEs should be done. I LOVED the combat.

That said everything else is meh at best.
Dialog was trying to be like DAO or elder scrolls at the same time. Exploring got old when I already knew the limits of where i could go (thanks map for showing me everything.) and sidequests got me thinking I was playing a singleplayer MMO.
Overall it was like the exploration of Skyrim without the fun, Dialog options of a Bioware game without the interesting characters. And the storytelling of the worst of both worlds.

As I said the combat sold me the rest eh not so much.
It feels like it has identity issues. It wants to be everything at once.

The stories more than just "You're not dead anymore". There is a whole war going on with an immortal enemy and you are the only person in the world without a pre-determined fate thus casing others to change as well. Do you mean Forgettable? Un-forgettable means it's good which you don't think.

This.

And as far as a jump button is concerned, why would we even need one. The only times I needed to jump was to get over a fence, and that was completely unnecessary as there was a way in 5 feet away.

This topic came up in a chat I was having with someone on Steam, and I actually wrote "It's rather derivative of every fantasy cliche. It might as well have been written by R.A. Salvatore."

It did not occur to me what I had just wrote until the very second I hit enter.
