You don't have to. The CC is simplistic enough that you should be able to remember where the sliders are.

Yeah, this.

Here's my Varani. Her name's Tzila

I was getting my ass kicked by the Threshes. Jesus H Christ are they hard.

Luckily, if you die in the demo, there's an option to instantly be revived.

I went into the mine with the kobolds and was getting my butt kicked. I think I used at least one potion each fight in there. It was a little shocking at first as I am used to kobolds being absolute crap enemies, but these guys were beasts. They came at me three or four at a time and one always stayed back and launched arrows or something at me while the others tried to deliver devastating combos.

This is 1 thing I noticed in my second run through, groups of enemies actually display somewhat intelligent AI.

Is there recognition from the NPCs about one's class/race?

Probably race but the class system isn't your typical "pick one". You can reset your fate at any time and choose a different path and can mix paths

Not class. There is no real class, you make your own class based on whatever skills you want to have.

As for race and gender, there was a mention at the beginning of the demo. Immediately after picking your race and gender, actually. Hah.

Dunno if it'll be beyond that, but I imagine it would.

The game crashed before I could post the character look I decided on.  Right when I pulled out my phone too.

Female Dokkalfar here too, I love me some dark elves.  I went with the darkest skin tone, the ponytail without the bangs, the side lip ring too.  I went with the bright red hair and eyebrows and red eyes to offset the dark skin along with the black lip coloring.  I'm not using eyeshadow, there's no black option and it already looks like she had some on anyway.  I just don't know if the tatoo should be black or red.  And the tatoo I went with is the one that goes over the right eye and has something on the opposite cheek.

As for face type, don't know if I want the last one or the one before it.  I have to sacrifice something either way, so it's a hard decision.  I wish there were at least an option to change the nose and eyes.

Ah I see. Well I'm def going with Dokkalfar as my first character.
The names of the races almost sound Scandinavian

Apparently, they're based on North mythology.  It appears that was used as the basis for a lot of the stuff in this game.  I love norse mythos, so I like that fact.

Got my Faeblades! Yes.

Now all I need are Chakrams.

Glad I could help.  Apparently, all the weapon types are represented, but I have no clue where to get the chakrams.

Now its MY turn to help YOU.

You can buy flame chakrams for a little over 500 gold in the inn.

And they put the Faeblades to shame. Its insane.

Chakrams will be my main weapon in the full game. Well, a combo of chakrams, daggers, and elemental magic.

Dokk or svart alfar means dark or black children, they were maggoty like beings born of Ymir's corpse when Midgard was formed. The Ljosalfar are children of the light, of similar but more noble origins.

The norse mythology seems to be mashed up with the celtic cycle, the Tuatha and Balor of the evil eye etcetera. Worth noting is that Balor of the evil eye king of the Fomorian sea raiders may have been somehow connected to Odin Oneeye, named also Baleyg (old norse for evil eye).

Be interesting to see if they delve into this more deeply.

Wonderful insight into Norse Mythos. I have barebones knowledge of it, but with such a basis on it(at least as far as names go), I'll have to refresh my memory.

well im getting KOA. Demo imressed me enough especially its combat system. Skyrim has a horrible combat system.
Another point KOA seems to remind me a lot of Divinity 2 which is a good thing.

Quick question, anybody know how to equip your shield for sword and board style; it's only appearing when I block. Also the enemies sometimes seem to be hovering in the air after i've hit them, is this a bug? I also can't seem to equip my sword in hand, walk or jump except at predetermined points.

That's just it. You don't equip your shield permanently, it only appears when you block.

You only equip weapons for immediate use. Notice that shields count as armor, and are specifically for blocking only.

Also, jumping only happens at predetermined points, and walking can be accomplished by barely...moving...the trigger...

Damn. Well hey, no problem.

Side note though- I hate the shield thing too, but in its place can be talismans.

They work just like shields do, but they're more magic oriented, and it makes more sense that they can be pulled out in a pinch to defend yourself.

Aaaaaand we have a winner.

Though when I'm mixing Finesse and Sorcery enough, my dodge will be replaced with a Poison Blink.

Dodge- Win.

Blink- Winner.

Poison Blink- Winnest.

Christ the demo is long. On my first run of the demo I quit right after I met Hughes and I assumed that I had unlocked the bonus ME3 weapons just by playing the KOA:R demo but I did not realise that in order to get the Chakra launcher I had to keep playing until the demo stopped, I did not realise I still had another hour worth of gameplay to go before the I unlocked my ME3 gear.

Now that I have spent several more hours with the demo I can say that I will be buying this game ( provided that I have some spare cash left and it's not too expensive ). I still have a few reservations, I like the art style and most of the time I like the graphics but there are times when the graphics look a bit last gen. Some of the combat animations don't look right either, I'm a big fan of swords but I was not impressed with Rusty sword that you start out the game with. The combat also gets a bit harder once you get outside the tower, I started going through all my potions really quickly. I also failed to finish any of the quests I initiated. There's alot to like about this game but I can also see myself becoming very frustrated with it once the novelty wears off.

I'm pretty sure they were kobolds. After you escape the tower, you'll see the path branch off a bit and there are two wolves chomping down on a corpse. They hit hard, but go down fast. Go past them to find a mine and inside the mine are some groups of kobolds, a few locked chests with nice loot (Though the good stuff was lvl 2 so I couldn't equip it), and some traps. The lock picking mechanism is basically the same as in Skyrim/Fallout though the layout is a little different.

Is that the mine that had a barrier? There was a mine that had a barrier that I couldn't get past.

Maybe. I got in just fine, though I went back to it after reaching the village.

Actually, yeah. I'm pretty sure its the same place. I killed th wolves before I met with the Fateweaver guy and recall seeing a shimmering field over the mine entrance. I guess the barrier drops after you learn of your fatelessness.

Ok this doesn't make sense the load screen at one point said that my fate style would change everything about my characters play style IE combat roll turns into teleport if you pick the mage card.
I do that and I'm still rolling like its out of style. I was looking forward to trying this teleport but it doesn't look like its in the demo or something.
