I played the demo to unlock the ME3 items. The game looked alright, but I'll probably wait till it's $5 and pick it up.

5 bucks is quite the low cost.

5 bucks seems overpriced for this God Of War / Fable wannabe if I'm being completely honest.

I didn't even know there was an inn, I only knew about the pub because one of the quests take you there. I think they could have a done a better job with their icons, they're too small when you look at the map. I was also surprised that there was no explanation of the icons that you could turn on.

I can't even talk to someone like Rockworm. By that, I mean, someone that just looks at something and dismisses it without trying it.

lol no more like exxaggerrating.  Though I wouldn't buy this on release.  Little in this demo has sold me.  Though I haven't deleted yet which means something about it makes me want to try it again.

I could've sworn I said I played the demo.
Here's a thought don't run your mouth on things you know nothing about.  I played the demo to its entirety (ran through invisible walls because I cant go there during the demo)  Guess what I was bored of it before the time was up.  That doesn't exactly scream worth 60 dollars to me!

Don't spew crap like I didn't try it.  I never almost never do that <_<

Sorry. Dude, you don't have to be so nasty about it.

I honestly apologize, I had just came from reading a topic on the official forums about another game in their off topic. And so, I mistakenly lumped you in with that guy.

I also sounded nasty and I apologize for that too. I just get so frustrated and the outright bashing and I don't understand on how one thing that you may not like, automatically ruins the entire game.

I did the demo one more time and I think that's about it for me. I will probably end up buying this one but I may be inclined to wait a few months for it to go on sale.

This time I found the House of Ballads again and completed the initiation quest, I think they allowed me to join the faction because a "Factions" status appeared. I got some fae blades out of it, which was fun to try.

One more thing that irked me was that you can find things in the world like "invoices," "tattered documents," etc., in containers only, of course, but you can't read them. What is the purpose of adding junk items like this? I don't feel that they aid in fleshing out the game world in any way. It reminded me a lot of all those "moth-eaten scarves" from DA2.

There may be a lot of seemingly "junk" items in Amalur that can be eventually used in crafting of some kind, but I don't think all these useless documents that you can't read serve any purpose whatsoever.

I have a lot of trouble understanding the reasoning behind having any "junk" items at all, especially when you can't read them, manipulate them or even see them in the game world, since they have no object meshes. They certainly don't enhance the game environments.

Faeblades are cool, but I think I'll stick with daggers only because there's way too much spinning involved with faeblades.

Yeah sorry too but there seems to be a fanboy feel going on in this thread thats been bugging me.

It wasn't just 1 thing it was pretty much everything.  The combat is the only thing keeping me from down right hating this game

I don't think anyone CAN be a fanboy for this game.

Yet.

I think some of us are excited for it(I know I am), but for fanboys, I think the game needs to actually be out first.

Tried the demo.. Honestly disappointing from PC perspective. It felt like a console port. Auto-targeting, invisble wall (you can't traverse to areas which you thought can pass through) and no cross-hair and it's extremely linear which i thought it was open-ended.

I like the graphics and art direction and the flashiness, the skill systems and loot though. But it is really hard for me to justify in buying the game due to my above preferences. Will probably pass this game.

Wait, why would this game need a crosshair?

Looks really interesting, I'll try the demo in a few days (when I have full controll over my arm again..)
From what I saw it's a bit mmo flashy for an rpg but I can live with that

I didn't really call anyone a fanboy just there's a feel of fanboyism going on here.
Wether intentional or not it seems people are blindly going into this game like no matter how good or bad it is they'd still love it.
Though its still better here than on the steam forums.  There's someone there who deflects everything and has turned into hate Skyrim thread.

Sounds more like their hatred for Skyrim is stronger than their hope for KoA's success.

Ahh well. Different strokes for different folks.

personally to me KOA feels a lot like a sequel to divinity 2 in terms of its playstyle, combo system etc, and i really enjoyed divinity 2.
Feb cant come soon enough

yup, i really like the combat system as it has the fluidness of fable 1 allowing for seemless transition between weapons, skills and spells.
What baffles me is why is it wrong to have a fun combat system in a RPG. Im tired of super realistic graphics in games with crappy gameplay ( IE skyrim). i used to remember games being about fun.
So far KOA seems to offer what i look for FUN!!!!!!.

To ppl who wanna kill some time do give divinity 2: dragon knight saga a try, a very underrated game.

Thats just it. KoA is fun to play.

Because of that, I'm willing to look over its negatives. There aren't that many that I can say bug me.

Its no DA2 for sure.
