After 10 hours or so .. Thing i like and don't like

1: Don't expect Mass Effect or Bioware cutscene or dialogue quality. More like ES with more cinematic put into it. My character look just plain dumb during them though

2: Warhammer Style kind of art. Do not let this fool you. The Game's quite 'mature' with a lot of  disgusting moment. Some of them monster are super well done and scary. There's also this crude sense  of humor some of us enjoy.

3: The game is open world but less  dynamic than Skyrim .. From what I have seen so far. You have quite a lot of 'follow' me quest . I enjoyed them. The game seem HUGE though .. VERY HUGE.After 10 hours into the game haven't seen much of it.

4: I don't see any romance so far. I don'r think you can marry etc .. But Im just 10 hours into the game.

5:Difficulty seem to be a LOOT thing and how many potion you have. At some point It was impossible for me to beat a monster. I respeced to use that big purple hammer and purchased some potion .. The same fight became a walk in the park.

6: After 10 hours into the game I have the sensation I have seen everything the game has to offer with combat. The tree don't go deep into awesomeness.

7: The Main story is quite original .. Whatever ppl say . Yes you're 'special' and possesse some kind of power .. But you're  not unstopable .. You have no fate! It's an original concept.

8: The music and voice acting is quite great ... Close to Bioware quality and much better than Skyrim.

9: So many side quest and some of them 'send' you to far soon in the game .. Which mean you don't want to do them since you will just unlock more and more stuff. Monster don't seem to scale either with your level. So you can't really go that far anyway. At some point you just start ignoring a lot of them because you have enough to do already. It's feel like a MMORPG when you have 200 quest in your log.

10: The game suffer again from ' I`m alone in the world doing all the work' . The game suffer from it a lot.

Make sure it's not listed under Add-Ons and Bonuses, if it is then you already have it available.

If not, and you pre-ordered from GameStop, you should have got an e-mail with both the Fate Touched Weapons pack code and a second code for the Destinies Choice pack.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you without knowing the whole story..

Only played 10 or so mins so far and already loving this game. Stealth skills are satisfying and it is quite atmospheric too.
Here's a pic of my Ljosalfar, Zarthara whom I plan to turn into a Rogue/Mage.

The pre-order bonuses were quite cool. I like the giant Fae Blades. Pity I can't wear the Shepard Armour

Reviews tend to be subjective.  People should decide for themselves ultimately.

I played the demo and like what I found; I bought the game and the only thing that's slowing me down is work, sleep and body necessarities (and posting on this thread).

I'm glad I took Rogue/Mage because, in hindsight, I realise the attack abilities of a rogue/mage covers a wide range of damage types.  Sorcery attack spells gives the basic fire/frost/shock, while Finess adds piercing, bleeding and poison damage (along with frost traps).   Shadow Flare is devastating up close against large enemies like trolls and ettins since at point blank they tend to receive most or all the darts for a lot of damage; you just have to be careful in getting close without getting clubbered.

To that end, with the Blink ability (short-range teleport), it seems like I'm playing the Rogue/Mage like a ME2 Vanguard (get up close and unleash).

One thing not so good with my build is that I use Faeblades.  Daggers get a better passive boost from the Shadowcaster destiny line as they deal a greater proportion of piercing damage (~50%), while Faeblades have less (35-40%) piercing damage.  I am just sold on the charge attack for Faeblades (Twisted Claw) hence I picked Faeblades.

Enough, I'm going back to play before I have to leave for work.

I took a couple to show my favorite armor and then a second to show off the Shepard armor and so you can see the face from straight on:

Liking the cradting system in the game, true you need to put in points to take full advantage of it but the amount of diveristy you have in making items is quite impressive.

Which reminds me, since going to a Fateweaver and unbinding your abilities also removes skill points you spent leveling up, you can max out Alchemy just to get all the recipes and then reset your character without needing to waste the 10 points indefinitely on it.

You could do the same for detect hidden, then using it to find all the hidden stuff and all the lorestones easily. Then reset since afterwards, there's really no point in keeping it leveled up..

I'm greatly liking Reckoning and I just realized that they left out one weapon type all to gether for the warrior class. Ax's and Battle Ax's.

Question: What did all of that change? And why is that better than the way the game already looks?

Alright...The Widow is an annoying little pos. I beat her, but I had to use a good number of potions to do it. Her magic attacks pack a wallop and all of those spiders she summons are a pain. You definitely want to go into that fight with a full reckoning bar.

Ouch. Well, on the other side of the equation, you get a hellish boss fight with a "reward" of 3000 gold. And I do mean hellish. There was one point where I was fighting her and maybe eight or nine of those spiders at one time. If my reckoning bar didn't pop when it did, I would probably have died. And, as I said, I used a bunch of potions too. She has a close range fire staff smash attack that drained a good third to half of my health bar, a homing lightning attack and can create a weird fire barrier around herself that hurts you if you get close. She summons the giant spiders what can snare you and the smaller ones with the projectile poison attack. I think she just keeps summoning them or maybe summons more as she gets closer to death. Either way it is pretty hectic. And to top it all off, she didn't drop any loot.

I managed to start playing the game about 1:00am last night, i was hoping that it would snow some more in London but unfortunately it stopped snowing so only played for about 3 hours and then had to go to work.

I had a great time playing and it was fun, the game is a little different from the demo and it is also a little harder. I am level 3 so far but i am having fun exploring and trying to do my first quests.

So far so good.

My current char gear, makes her look quite rogue-ish. Although those Faeblades are none too subtle.
