Anyway, shark's fins, anyone?

That was the best she had since past level 12 or so. Faeblade drops are seriously lacking, but finally, she salvaged enough parts to make this @ Level 16 (8 points in Blacksmithing).

It's a very solid game so far, a hell lot more enjoyable then DA2.

Yes there is  more killing on amalur than Da2... I like the weapons in amalur and no i haven't bought the game, still I like mages weapons and rogues wepaons they are not abnormal looking ones, just plain an simple deadly weapons.

I may give it a try. But from the demo, it is DA2 improved, Fable 1 with a MMO effects. Not bad but it shouldn't be compared to other games. And the attack/block is ridiculous. Where does the shield come from? Where do we keep it while swinging a sword? I was going to make a video of that but nah... let it be.

My hubby thinks we preordered KoA, so he's going to go pick it up at lunch today. I might try it out this weekend. I hope it's more fun than the demo (that I fell asleep watching).

I did play all three Fables, so I'm willing to give it a chance. Posted Image

From the look of it, there's tons of options and items and things to put in your inventory... but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of characters to interact with and learn about. If that true?

Also played the demo. Game seems OK, but nothing terribly special.

If anyone finds out how can I delete the demo from my Origin client, please let me know? I've searched the whole internet and Origin's site and help is a piece of ****.

Sorry, I really can't remember where I found it, but I don't think it was a part of a quest.
The level 2 Faeblades of Song (which I am pretty sure you already have) is the only guaranteed Faeblade find that I know of.

More to the game, I am seriously bad at the boss fights, to the point that I rely on Reckoning mode for killing bosses (maybe because I was also stuck with bad weaponry).

Good luck on that, Battlefield 3 beta and Amalur demo are still on my list.
They are waiting for a format methinks.

Edit:

@Supidseep
Its because o faeblades, while they are good against groups, they start damaging wtih small numbers. You need to finish your combo to deal decent damage. And that means either you get interrupted from boss or take heavy damage.
I slaughter bosses with daggers, hit&run tactics exel with those little bastardos. And being full cunning build i take very little damage while rolling. There some crazy guys you just cant roll out their attack.
Got a good pair from a quest yesterday at Ettinmare (Shine&Dark? im bad with names :?)  61 damage, deals fire damage under sun , cold damage under dark and looks pretty bad@ss.

Oh yea, I got that quest yesterday. Sounded like a pair of daggers from the description. Will have to give that quest a go. Also, I didn't really see many advantages of the Destiny cards but I once I hit Arcanist(Rank 3) and got Blink, that was really useful. Made those Ettin fights so easy :P

I would say that is a highly biased reviewer there. He gave Skyrim 5/5 with all it's bugs, blandness and wonky combat system...yet he's nitpicking depth in Reckoning.

You think that well thought out and articulate review is biased?  Wow.  Just wow.  Then again, from your other responses in this thread I can see why...

That was a rant, not a review. He was whining about stuff in Amalur, yet it didn't seem to bother him that Skyrim has many if not more of the same issues. I guess they just sweep it under the rug when it comes to a Bethesda product.

I've played about 12 hours worth so far. I like the game a lot and feel like it got better after the first few hours. I don't understand all the negetive reviews over the story. The story is great. Gameplay is very good. The game is beautiful. I recommend this game.

PS the guys involved with DA2 should be ashamed of themselves after seeing how well these guys/gals did with Amalur. Amalur is soooooooooo far superior to DA2.

2 Options:

a) contact EA support - they will remove it for you

B) Go to C - ProgramData - Origin - InstalledGames.xml
Change hidden="0" to hidden="1" for the game you want to hide.

Out of curiosity, for those who are playing through it, how does Amalur compare to Dark Souls? I thought DS was terrific, so I was curious if this game would also appeal to me, given the huge emphasis on the combat system as well as environments.

Thanks for the pointer.  You got me thinking

I reflected upon my attack style for a bit and realised that, instead of standard attacking, I heavily favor using Twisted Claw (Faebladed basic charge-up attack) because I focus a lot of building up my fate meter (I have 3 points in each tier of Precise Weaponry for fate accumulating) and I tend to hold for a full charge.  Evidently Twisted Claw takes time to charge up and in the meantime I am stationary and vulnerable to be interrupted.

I think I will still stick with Faeblades.  I already have subconsciously modified my attack pattern to reduce the charge vulnerablitiy.  Either I use attack abilities (like Shadow Flare) to buy time for charging, poison blink around til I reach a favourable position to charge-up (think Tela Vasir of LotSB) or go with half-charge.

Maybe when I get Smoke Bomb, thing would change.  I'm very close now to Tier 4 abilities.

Meanwhile, I found my first hexweave (material) mage robe (gloves are from a mage set).  I like it because I think the white base contrasts my Dokkalfar's dark skin while the red elements match her hair.:

Found them while I was doing the first Traveler's quest. It's in one of the chests in that mission where you steal the remains of that monk.

Ok, FYI, my char never even started the Traveller's questline.

It might be possible that many loot are randomised...  I heard that the Skill Books are possibility randomised (accuracy not verified).
