Anyway, I like that they say they want to incorporate some fighting game mechanics into combat, it should be interesting what they did. Though, it's looking like what they have done is no different from DMC or Bayonetta.

I like dynamic combat (ex. I thought the Witcher 2's wasn't bad), but this looks a bit cartoonish and "OH LOOK HOW EPIC I BEHEAD MONSTERS IN SLO-MO WHILE SHOOTING LIGHTINGS AT THEM!" to me.
Still very interested in the game though. But more for the exploration of this (reportedly) huge and interesting world and the lore.

Turns out, I'm not much for such openness. I can't play Skyrim right now because there's just so much to do and it overwhelms me to think about it. But if I just go through the story, then I won't feel like I got my money's worth. Maybe when the time comes that I have nothing better to do.
Oh, and the combat doesn't look flashy enough. I like how Amalur's combat looks flashy.

I have a strong aversion to over the top combat moves and animations after playing Arkham Asylum And TW2. And I'm sorry but I hate the art style. The hard fact is Todd MacFarlane isn't as talented as some of the pros already established in the industry.

Should be fun playing as a rogue...the daggers are said to have more meaning and I love the weapon design.
There are a ton of Destinies, I'm just going to play and see which ones open up to me

Destinies open up after you've obtained a certain number of abilities under the three skill trees. And to get the destinies that combine two or all three, you need to have learned a certain number under the corresponding archetypes.
I always go for the warrior classes, they compliment my playstyle the most. I'm not much for archery and all that stealthy stuff. And the only magic I might dabble in are healing spells.
Aside from all that, I love the voice acting. Liam O'Brien is always great and Peter Reneday voices that guy you meet in the beginning of the game, if he doesn't appear throughout I'm sure Peter Reneday will voice some other notable character.
Claudia Black sounds very good here too. I hope she's more than just the narrator or it turns out the narrator is someone who is very important to the story.

From the elven races, the Dokkalfar are the ones that look the best to me. For some reason, I am somehow drawn to races that don't fall in line with my class choice with their starting stats.

So, uh, what race does everyone want to play?

Dokkalfar Shadowcaster will be my first character.

Can't remember names. I'll go for the race that said it's usually pirates and such, and I'll probably play a rouge like character with twin blades.

I may have to pass on this one. I'm not really into over the top hack n slash combat in my RPGs. I watched the combat trailer and I swear one of the characters did a Street Fighter uppercut and then started shooting someone with arrows.

The combat is done with one button no? It's not hack 'n slash in the way Devil May Cry is.
At 9:35 I have to appluad BHG. I was worried about the UI nice to see they have a seperate UI for Mouse/keyboard and controller unlike well Skyrim.

I don't know, I just watched the combat overview on this page Combat Overview
1:01 is definitely a Shoryuken. Then all the leaping in the air, blades forming out of hands, the Reckoning finish moves. Just not my thing.

I think the youtube comment sums it up pretty well: wow + oblivion + fable hybrid.
Add the fact that the evil corporation EA is behind it, and a no-thank-you is prompt.

I quite like the colourful world, the norse influences (children of the light and dark etc) and the plot sounds interesting but that combat would just get on my pecs over time, just silly.

Each weapon and spell is supposed to have a special secret function we have to explore into and see if we can discover what it is.
I might make a girl character for this game. I'm envisioning a long haired brunette with pretty eyes but a definite toughness and grittiness.

Meh EA is just publishing it and I believe Origin won't be required for the PC version. Curt Schilling actually said that they might be able to get the game onto Steam.
