Reckoning on Facebook highlighted today, ironically, a Destiny that is specific to how I'm going to play....Shadowcloak. Mage who plays in the shadows and is stealthy. It looks like teleporting in this Destiny poisons enemies you go through. Interesting.

Each weapon and spell is supposed to have a special secret function we have to explore into and see if we fan discover what it is.

I might make a girl character for this game. I'm envisioning a long haired brunette with pretty eyes but a definite toughness and grittiness.

I don't know if you have seen it already but they also have a Destinies page on the main site, there are still a few that have yet to be released though. http://reckoning.ama.../game/destinies

Hmm....looks like the fighter mage destiny is for me. I can imagine it now, my character being a somewhat arrogant man who matures through his adventures. He might not be the most merciful or nicest folk, but his heart is in the right place.

Looks good, not sure about the combat but will definitely give it a try.

I do like the different combinations you can create for your character.

I may have to pass on this one. I'm not really into over the top hack n slash combat in my RPGs. I watched the combat trailer and I swear one of the characters did a Street Fighter uppercut and then started shooting someone with arrows.

I'll wait until one of my friends plays it first.

The combat is done with one button no? It's not hack 'n slash in the way Devil May Cry is.

I don't know, I just watched the combat overview on this page Combat Overview

1:01 is definitely a Shoryuken.  Then all the leaping in the air, blades forming out of hands, the Reckoning finish moves.  Just not my thing.

Ugh. Ugly.

I think the youtube comment sums it up pretty well: wow + oblivion + fable hybrid.

Add the fact that the evil corporation EA is behind it, and a no-thank-you is prompt.

The link is a dead end, which video are you guys talking about?

I want to see this shoryuken and what the fuss is all about.

Haven't made up my mind between this and dragons dogma.

This or that?  Why not both?

Well, if I had to choose, I'd choose Dragon's Dogma because I found out open world isn't really for me.  However, like I said before, what Amalur has that Skyrim doesn't is the flashy combat.

Dragon's Dogma is supposedly open world as well.

Thanks for the link to the Destiny's page, Kbrury!

@ RPG gamer, true, but I tend to set a "Cash" limit on what I spend per year on games, and alot of stuff is being tight lipped this year so I'm kinda waiting to see what else might be coming out, though I have thought of getting both, then you mention Skyrim. I really wonder if I can beat it and three more RPGs without eating into my work out and family time. I mean DD, KA, and ME3.

Yeah, I understand.  I tend to not think about the fact that I don't have to worry about a lot of things other people do.
I should do the same, it's just hard, and I've got an addictive personality.  That's why I try to stay away from alcohol and gambling.  Plus, I hate the taste of almost any kind of alcohol anyway and I hate doing things that rely entirely on chance.

Yeah?  Wow, I thought it'd be like The Last Remnant.

Don't know why, but the way the towns look and the menus, I get a Last Remnant vibe from it all.

Three different Collector's Editions have been announced recently. I might go for the $80 one, as it seems to have good value. Although the two pricey ones come with a heck of a lot of seemingly cool stuff.

Heh if I were to get any the $80 one seems the best value, the others jump up massively just for a couple more items.

That last one is ridiculous.  With tax that's damn near a car note.

Edit: Second one is bad too.  Only reasonable one is the first.

Aaleel thats my point as well.

Having looked at some Trailers I think I'll get both games. Not anything else coming I want this year so far, I'll just save some money for DLC if nothing else catches my eye.

Yeah, the 80 dollar one isn't bad at all. You get a set of cards, dice... Plus the soundtrack and the map.

But it looks like you can only get them here: http://limitededitions.reckoning.com/

I was going to pre-order from GameStop to get the weapon pack and the one with the three exclusive armor.

The soundtrack that comes with everything has 35 tracks. Also they are only selling 2000 of the Special Edition, 700 of the Collector's Edition, and 300 of the Signature Edition.

On the forums I read that 275 of the Signature Editions have been sold and I was one of those buyers. :P I think the troll will look good next to Malgus and Alduin.

My Malgus will just have to keep my Geralt bust company.

The CE and SE are only available for US and Canada though. Anyone in other countries will get the standard edition with whatever Fate-Touched DLC pre-order bonus you were entitled to already.
Logistical and licencing issues apparently since they are a fairly new company. They are communicating with fans about this instead of just ignoring people which is nice.

I can't see how, with the way I want to play this game, it'll take me less than 200 hours to complete.

I'm excited to see how extensive the lore for this is. And since its a new IP, it'll be fascinating how they structure that lore.

Interesting read on ign.

xbox360.ign.com/articles/121/1214539p1.html

I like the fact that though the loot is random somewhat, the loot system increases the chances of you getting something your character needs.

The loot system sounds good. Hopefully less chance of picking up lots of low level junk all the time.

Definitely looking forward to the game. The fact that we start from a pile of dead bodies makes me reminisce about PS:T. The whole destiny storyline just sounds really interesting. The combat also looks really fun.

I don't like the answer to their opening question: the combat is what I'm interested in when playing a game.

I want this sword:

Sounds good what I really like and think is great are how zones will level the enemies up. I hate that about Skyrim reuturning to a area like Riverwood and everything I see was at a low level in KoA they will level up to the highest possible level for the zone. It probably won't do anything when I'm a much higher level but still nice.
