I've attempted to search for this specific issue but haven't found anything (maybe I used the wrong search-therms though).
I've noticed a problem trying to use the img tags to post imgur hosted pictures on these forums.
Weirdly enough out of the three browsers I've tested, they all respond to the issue differently.
- In chrome I noticed they sometimes show as actual pictures, otherwise they show as line-high rectangular boxes which you can still right-click to open in a new tab. Pressing either quote or edit on the post containing the image tags will however normally display the images in the edit-box. If I then press back to 'cancel' the edit or quote the images will show normally in the post, however page-reload can 'break' them again
- In internet explorer the images seem to be altogether broken, showing a line-high rectangular box with a cross through it.
- In firefox they show up as plain text http links ignoring the img tags altogether.
Now after being hinted towards this being an imgur specific problem (as people in that specifc subfora asked whether others also had issues with specificly viewing imgur images), I did some testing by uploading an image to my own webserver and posting that with the img tags, and that seems to work fine across all three browsers. Both me and other posters on these boards can see those images fine. (to be sure it's not me f-ing it up heh)
Before I halfly assumed this was due to some bug in the way the image-tag was being processed by the boards as a whole, not such a 'specific' issue.
On that note, I've also noticed that sometimes making a post and then editing the post to add an image breaks the tags (regardless of where it was hosted). The forum seems to add alt through scripting, but this completely screws up the order of the tags and breaks the images. Fixing the mangled tags can then be done when using the BBCode edit functionality.

Now my question, are these known issues?
