I was able to transfer my character who is a human female noble warrior, but when I went to level up in the opening Awakening scene, I found that I didn't have some of the talents I had in Origins. I had fully upgraded dual weapon use and when I opened the level up screen I had no dual weapon talents and my weapon and shield talents were fully upgraded, yet I was dual wielding weapons... What's up with that?

This seems like a glitch in your particular playthrough. I can't say that I've encountered anything like this.
Are you on pc with any mods that may be causing this issue?

I am not using pc platform. I'm playing on 360 and just bought the expansion pack used (though I don't think that should have anything to do with it, right?) Anyway, I'm disappointed because, the strangest thing, in my "hotkeys" menu or whatever you call it, the talents and skills that I had placed there in origins remained the same (dual weapon sweep, dual striking, etc). But again, when I went to level up, all my dual weapon upgrades were not there and I had a bunch of shield and weapon upgrades, not to mention the weapons I was dual wielding weren't even weapons I had in Origins.

What weapons are you using? Most dlc items don't transfer to Awakening. The exception would be any of the Maric or Cailan's equipment from Return to Ostagar-those transfer fine.
I have no idea why your talents seem to be messed up. I've imported wardens to Awakening several times with no import issues. If you don't want to start over, then just use a manual of focus to respec your character. I'm guessing that your character got glitched somehow, and perhaps this is a one-time thing?

I have just gone back to playing origins and DLC with it and I noticed something similar to what your talking about. Oghren in origins I made him a full Beserk but in Awakening he has none of the talents and I have to waste points on him to relearn skills.
