So I am (almost done) playing DA Origins (well the Landsmeet is coming up) and going for different (perfect) story endings to import in DA 2. I also have DA Awakening and want to play that IF it has any significance regarding DA 2.
My question is: how much of an influence does Awakening have on the DA 2 storyline? Much? Little? Is there a crucial point in Awakening which has influence on the DA 2 storyline (choices)? If it is nothing then I think I'll skip it and go straight for DA 2.
JerHopp out..

Honestly, it's hard to say. You never know what Bioware has up their sleeve.
DA Awakening is an absolutely fabulous expansion I would definitely not pass it up. You get a far better understanding of who exactly Justice is and who Anders used to be. You learn a thing or two about DA:O, and the story all together is very good. I think you could easily get away with hopping to DA2 and then going back in Dragon Age time and playing Awakening after wards though. I just wouldn't skip it all together.

Knowing Anders and Justice in Awakening adds a LOT to DA2, I think. We're not certain how much actual plot significance its decisions will ultimately have, but I really think you get a lot more out of DA2's character development if you played DA:A.

If you have the "Wardens Keep' and allow Avernus to live, he gives you a 'perk' in DA2. No wait.. that's not Awakenings....

If you recruite him and if he survives the storyline then Nathanial will return for a cameo in DA2.
As far as I know, this is the only current result of having imported Awakening despite half of the companions returning (Justice, Anders, Nathanial). However future DLC however unlikely might have import impacts.
That's fun to say, "import impacts."
Edited for grammar.

if you burned Amaranthine you get an additional quest that deals with Amaranthine noble conspirators who fled to Kirkwall and are plotting revenge against the WC. Takes place in Act 1.

Why would come to Kirkwall for revenge? It was the darkspawn that attacked and the Wardens that ordered the city to be burned.

they ran to Kirkwall to hide and were plotting against the Warden Commander, despite him/her doing what was necessary in his/her mind. I think it was called the Amaranthine Conspirators.

Huh.
That's not what I'd have done in BioWare's place but....huh.

I can't really recall everything that the quest-giver said because this was on one of my first playthroughs, but I believe that's what it was.

Well I finished DA Origins , did Witch Hunt, (this one did hint at Flemeth being alive and even Kirkwall *mages whispering something about Kirkwall*) and am now at the beginning of DA Awakening..
Wow, Anders is a lot different then in DA2: more butch and more humouristic (is that a word?)
Well, I'll just see what this story will bring:D
And @Foolsfolly and TEWR: thanks! I will keep an eye out for Nathaniel and the storyline of Amaranthine.

Yeah DAO is pretty buggy aswell.
DAA has accuracy which makes archers (awesomefully) most powerful class in the game.
Wish anders was like he was in DAA. So charmingly funny.

Dragon Age Origins -> Awakening -> Golems of Amgarrak -> Witch Hunt -> Dragon Age II
Otherwise Witch Hunt doesn't count.
And Overall, bring Nathaniel with you to your final battle against the Mother/Architect if you're going to import. Saves you the annoying bug where even if the Vigil survived, he somehow died.

So here's what happened:
In the beginning the game skipped a scene or two: there is a particular euh... dwarf apparently which you can recruit. I hear him talking to Anders, but guess what? You can't see him. I only recognized him because of his voice.. But he is now not in my team, cause the recruiting fase was skipped.
I am imported my mage at level 21 from Origins: excited by getting two new specializations (which should be opened at level 20) i found myself seeing these two locked.. But but.. I am already at level 21?!? Now I am at level 25, and still... locked...
All the weapons and armor that i got from Origins were imported in Awakenings and now all these (warrior and rogue) have Magic as attribute instead of Strength or Cunning... So now my mage walks with a heavy armor and... a sword... funny to see, but should not have happened;-)
I think I will start over.. I guess i'ts because of the import? Or is it something else?
Yeah and Anders Awakening is different then Anders DA2, but I dont have preference.. yet..
Thanks Myusha, I will keep your note in mind!

Did the DAA flags get fixed in patch 1.02 of DA2? Or should I just import from Origins playthrough?

The issues specifically surrounding Approval Ratings that stemmed from DAA+ imports have been fixed.
