I know, and more and more I see the demise of Bioware as "Masters of the story-driven cRPG", is not so much as a demise, but rather that the excellence of BG and especially BG2 was a result of Black Isle/Obsidian's participation

give bioware full credit for bg1+2. luke kristjanson was lead writer of baldur's gate and david gaider wrote big parts of bg2. black isle's role in development was quality assurance assistance and to publish those games through interplay.

Oh alright. ;) I'll drop that theory then, reluctantly.

In a nutshell, yes you should play it. You won't feel like a beta-tester and you won't need to stick your fingers in yours going 'la la la I can't see you!' to avoid glaring imersion spoiling moments.

Of course there are flaws present but none which should destroy your enjoyment.

If you find you can't get on with the OC set give some of the online Persistant Worlds a go instead.

I recently installed NWN2 and both xpacs after not touching it since the launch and have to say its a breath of fresh air compared to before.

Improved camera controls and ai along with a smoother feel makes the game seem more of a cross between nwn1 and BG for me

looking forward to playing thru all the xpacs and then trying it out online

NWN 2 kicks the crap out of NWN 1. There's still a lot of resistance to change among the flock but eventually THEY WILL SEE THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

There are finally some pretty nice servers up in NWN 2. I've been downright impressed by several and I'm hard to impress. Quality over quantity is NWN 2's MO.

Lets not bash NWN1 here, that is one of the greatest games ever, and in many areas NWN2 is still chasing it. However i do agree there is plenty in NWN2 well worth playing.

I agree. That kind of comment serves no useful purpose and can only divide what should be a close knit community. Suffice it to say that regardless of personal preference we can all agree that NWN2 is an excellent title. It may have been a bit wonky at the beginning but it's been well patched and is certainly worth your time.
