Why are fanboys having such a fit over this?  Anything Kinect related will be minor and half-assed in relation to gameplay with the controller or with the kb/m.  Not only that, the function will be optional, so it wouldn't impact anyone on the board.

Again, because it could be time, effort, money and resources better put somewhere else. If having Kinect means that we just get a bunch of emails in ME3 again instead of actual consequences, or miss out on extra squad banter or more involved sidequests because they put a focus on silly motion control crap instead of things that will actually add to the game and the gameplay, then it'll be a waste.

There is no evidence what so ever that the kinect option will have any effect on anything else. You are speculating out of nothing.

kinect support costs money. games have budgets. spending money to develop kinect support eats up money from the budget. money that could have been used to produce actual game content.

its not speculation, its logic.

I find it hilarious that people are so upset over an OPTIONAL FEATURE! Yes, optional feature, let alone the fact that we know nothing for sure, yet people proclaim KNOWING:

- the game will be dumbed down for casuals
- the game's visual will suffer as a result of Kinect system resource demands
- Kinect is pointless because they couldn't think of any real use for it
- it favors the Xbox 360 owners (nevermind the game was an exclusive and then Bioware pro-claimed the PS3 version to be the definite)
- the game release delay is because of Kinect

I mean can you really throw anything else into the mix? All based on rumors and speculation. The funniest thing is IT IS OPTIONAL.

Let me repeat that if you missed it, IT IS OPTIONAL!!!

we dont care that its optional or not. we care the development time is being wasted on gimmicky useless crap.
we care that kinect support can and probably will effect the games preformance and stability.
we care that kinect development is fairly expensive and thus a large chunk of the budget will have been used on this pointless thing.

i want ME3 to be a quality game, im sorry that you dont.

if they wasted tons of resources adding in multiplayer and thus made the game shorter and had signifcantly less content would yous till say "hey its optional so its ok" ?

dont be ignorant.

I laugh at your comment about being ignorant, when all you have said is speculation, more speculation and EVEN MORE SPECULATION.

I do believe a company like Bioware whom have made many AAA hits, would know how to manage their staff and development. I'm pretty sure they don't need a rabbid fan with most likely no clue giving them suggestions based on speculation.

Come back with some facts and we will talk. Until then :whistle::whistle:

Yes, I'm sure it is very very costly to develop Kinect support that it would completly destroy the game. You might as well ignore this game and buy something else now.

It's called budgetting, and resources are allocated based on need. It's like as if I complained that Bioware added a PS3 version (or DLC) so now, the game will be shorter and much lower quality.  Maybe they should just drop the PC and PS3 version... then we will definitely get the ultimate version!

No logic is first NOT to get your nuts twisty tied on speculation!

That said, you never know. Kinect support might be so fantastic you will buy a Kinect just to enjoy it. :crying:

I think people really need to calm down on this issue. It's not helping when you keep saying that you don't support Kinect over and over again just in diffrent words.

Well, that the only thing people can do on these forums, besides complaining.

[/quote]Except you don't know how much the budget is. You don't how much more or less the budget is from ME2 and ME1. How do you know that Bioware was given some more money to implement the Kinect feature?

I can't see how kinect in ME3 could be anything other than a bad idea but I'm not getting too bent out of shape over it until after E3. If ME3 is going to use kinect odds are it will be confirmed and shown how it will be implemented there.

Also keep in mind this could have been a bargaining chip with EA for more development time. Bioware wanted more time so ME3 wasn't an unpolished buggy mess like DA2 but EA was only willing to give them that time if they added a new feature that would guarantee a boost to sales.

That's kind of a big presumption but it's the only way kinect support added to ME3 makes any kind of sense to me.

Just as a quick comment... I'm not going to speak directly to the "Kinect" thing because that's a rumor... and we don't comment on those.

Regarding the sentiment that a lot of people are expressing though... Development teams are made up of a lot of different people doing a lot of different types of work, saying that the addition or removal of *any* feature directly results in the addition or loss of something in a different area of the game is taking a very simplistic view of a rather complicated set of dependencies.

You can't say something like... If we cut two guns, we get more dialogue options! It doesn't really work that way. It'd be nice if it did... it would probably make a lot of the production guys' jobs easier.

Not to mention, the cover art is OBVIOUSLY fake. They just edited that picture in place of a Kinect game's box-art.

Be nice.

There's no problem with people expressing concern. I think it simply demonstrates that they care a lot about the game. As someone working on it, that's something that I find rather gratifying...

Man, you folks are seriously the best in the industry if for nothing else than your fan responses. "As someone working on it, that's something that I find rather gratifying..." That's just not the kind of statement I've come to expect from some other high-profile gaming developers.

no hostility meant. just that anytime I see devs tell people (who should be able to tell they are wrong regardless of how much they like a game, which I can't fault them for being concerned) how it is I have to say so. like one time when (and I near quote) Blizzard employ "Ghostcrawler" told a bunch of people saying their class was unplayable that they needed to l2p or gtfo.

Also like I said I understand concern for a games (or anything made by someone else that you enjoy whether it be a game car movie tv series etc) direction, but after 11 pages of people telling you its not a big deal you would think that they would sit back and might try and think "well there were a couple hundred people listed in the ME2 credits so maybe they have the people to do this while still doing everything else" or something else to that effect.

1) Kinect requires RAM from your console since Microsoft has been douchebags and removed the original one integrated to the camera. it means every games using kinect requires more from your Xbox 360, makes the games uglier.
2) Framerate issues. every single games I've played on kinect had framerate issues.
3) Gameplay issues : You can't move your character on kinect except if... you have your controller in your left hand to control him using the left joystick... it sucks.
4) It is just the worse combination ever imagined...

In other words, don't use Kinect.

it still requests spare RAM and disk space, therefore it makes the game dubbed down.

I don't think that word means what you think it does. You might want to
look it up in a dictionary.

I poorly translated something somewhere... it makes the game an Inferiour version.

In other words, you don't even know what that word really means.

Obvious Photoshop.

The background clearly comes from the May GameInformer issue and the the Shepard pic is clearly from the trailer.  This is either Photoshop or somebody at BioWare got seriously lazy
