Compatible with Kinect ? God sake tells me it's bull****...

you couldnt port kinect stuff to move. they arent even remotely similiar, they'd have to develop the new controls from scratch.Blarty wrote...
In all honesty, given the sheer number of units out there with Kinect, it would be foolish for and dev-house to dismiss Kinect support blindly, plus practically any 'motion-related' control scheme can be ported for PS3 move as well, it's just another option - you won't lose anything by having Kinect.....
...personally, I think if they add in Stereoscopic 3d and Kinect/Move together, it could be a winner, as long as the work to do so, does not detract from the overall work on the main game.

How could this even work?
For menu selection on stuff like that yes maybe, but moving around? You can duck hide shoot fine but walk? I haven't paid much attention to the kinect to be honest about it but last time I looked your on rails for walking. Is that still true?
If not then I'm all for alternate ways for people to play. I know the Move could work quite well with Mass effect though first person view would be my choice for both not third person.

I don't understand this. Kinect support should not be in the game because some people don't want to use it. What about the people that do? What about the people who don't want a silly, gimmiky top hat in the game? Should their voices not be heard? Tbh I trust Bioware not to mess up any optional Kinect support, hell if it's any good I'll probably buy the damned sensor. I don't get this "I don't want it so it shouldn't be there" attitude, it's a real a-hole's attitude. Just because you can't think of a way that the game could integrate the system does not mean, by any stretch of the imagination, that the talented designers at Bioware can't. Finally, just because Kinect support is rumored for the 360 version does not mean that the PS3 or PC versions will be missing out on anything. The optional Kinect support could simply remap in game actions (like Renegade/Paragon actions, Galaxy Map navigation) to simple gestures. The main point is optional. It doens't mean that you, as a PC, PS3 or Non-Kinect 360 player, get a diluted experience. It means that Kinect users have a few optional extras, a couple of bells and whistles to use, that's all.
now, just remember...Don't Panic.

I wouldn't care if e.g. Microsoft approached EA and said "Hey, we really need some more games that use Kinect -here's a couple of our inhouse coders. They will be working with you the next couple of months. You don't have to do anything". That would be cool.xCameleonx wrote...

Instead EA cuts into the budget of ME3 to realize a "feature" that perhaps 10% of all ME gamers will actually have the chance to use and *no one* asked for. So in the end ME3 will lack some aspect (additional dialoge ? a couple of sidequests ? some codec entries perhaps ?) that could have been, only to implement a gimmiky Kinect function.

What if EA actually, minorly, increased the development budget for ME3 to allow the implementation of Kinect support (say the hiring of a new coder just for Kinect)? What If Bioware assured that all the content they wanted was in the game? What if the content you were missing out on was an actual fetch quest to, say, kill X Vorcha just to pad the game's length? Would we all be peaches and gravy?

I agree.
I personally won't play/use the Engineer class, Sentinel class, femshep romances, gayshep romances, certain weapons, certain powers, playthroughs where Fist is alive, playthroughs where Wrex is dead etc, yet I don't mind that BW spend time and resources putting them in the game

Does it really matter if ME3 supports Kinect ? You don't have to have Kinect in order to play the game. WTF is your problem ?
It's not Kinect itself that bothers me. I personally feel Bioware is focusing on the wrong areas. All the recent news I've heard is all about streamlining the game and making it more like a shooter and not an RPG. The news about Kinect only makes me more skeptical.
This does not correspond with my vision of Mass Effect 3, I don't believe this is what Mass Effect is about, even though I have no real say in this since this is not my game but Bioware's. I personally would like more RPG elements, perhaps exploration and make Mass Effect 3 the conclusion the series deserves. But right now it doesn't seem like this will happen and that somewhat disappoints me.
I know it's a good idea of Bioware to expand on Mass Effect 2 considering the success it was, but there should be limits and if you asked me they've almost crossed it.
I'll still buy Mass Effect 3 because I like the series and I like it when a series concludes but I do hope Bioware knows what they're doing.
Just so you know, this is my opinion about this matter, no universal fact so no need to get angry (some people on these forums have this odd tendency of getting angry or snarky when they see an opinion they do not agree with).
And for the record I like both ME1 and ME2 so don't go that way. Both games have their good and bad aspects.

I missed the bolded.
Still, I feel all of that is overshadowed by all the news about the streamlining (which is not a bad thing if done well, but ME2 was enough for me. There are limits)
I guess I'll see for myself in 2012.
