Yeah the anime style just looks... Wierd. Not really animeish, and because it reveals so much forehead you have to be careful how you mold your head or it will just look wonky. I am not sure how I feel about hairstyles, they are diverse, but at the same time hair limits what you can wear on your head, and some accesories are tied to hair. Regarding the long necks for females... That seems to happen a lot in games that let you make a character, and for some reason its always the female that has it. Not sure why. Maybe bioware can tell us? Might have to tweet them about it.
I guess it's because the male characters are shown as more muscular and apparently the more muscular a dude is, the more skin they got going from their neck to their shoulders is bigger. Or it could be because the body is usually smaller, but to keep the head at a similar height to the male model, they don't bother to tweak the neck so it doesn't look freakishly long.
