Saints Row II was a huge step from what the original was and this game seems to take a step back re-examines what they did right and took out the good stuff.

You cannot go into clubs, strip clubs and buy up a good amount Property and change it to your liking. It's like they went and did a Dragon Age II to the game I don't know what they were thinking other then rushing the game. It's not bad game at all it's just not as good as what came before.

Think Dragon Age Origins so much there for you to choose and then comes a new Team Leader and Dragon Age II is crap compared to what has come before. That's how I am feeling about this game. So much about what was right was shown in previews but the reviewers didn't even bother stressing in what was removed from the series.

I am disappointed but thankfully The Old Republic comes next month and after testing it I know the game is pure awesome. I wish I could get into Skyrim but just don't have the time.

What scares me though they just announced Saints Row 4 and I have the feeling of a rush release and DLC content they promised I am not sure if they will deliver and after being fooled once by Bioware recently with Dragon Age II I am not ready to rush into content when they are not going to improve the main game by expensive add ons.

Saints Row The Third isn't bad but it's a step down and it feels like DLC or an add on to Saints Row II with smaller content.

I bet they are using Saints Row The Third as a starting point for Saints Row 4.

They added weapon upgrades, to me that makes up for anything I may feel is lacking.

In other news: I finally did it! I finally made an asian looking female face that I am happy with!

I rather like the game, however two things to moan about.

One.

The Motion Blurr, not a big deal, but I like when driving by to be able to see what buildings I can enter or not, etc. Guess I can just Walk around.

The other is the new buying/land system. I liked the old way, went to a mission, got the hood, then could buy up stuff. I also rarely see my saints walking the street which is a dissapointment.

Damn, this thread is barren.

I am trying to get the one where you play 2 hours as a male then 2 hours as a female. I'm just letting it run in windowed mode for 2 hours while I do things online, I really can't stand the way the male boss characters look like.

OMG I was just thinking that looks like Hawke almost

Without the beard of course

I think the story gets a little better only problem though you can upgrade a Stronghold you can't choose what it looks like. I need more customization in a game. Saints Row 2 had it down to the way you walk

Not true, there are some naturally chesty asian women with chests that big. It's rare, but they are out there.

And I was talking about her face. But then during cutscenes the face looks completely different

Mine's a busty Swede. :P

I should upload a pic when I get some new duds for her.  Also, lovin' the music in this game.

My favorite thing to do right now is to rob a store I own then go right back in to get rid of the notoriety. Easy money.

Don't like helicopter flight. Blech. I like that you get respect for so many different things. Love beating down hapless folks in the street and fighting gangs.

Oh yeah, why didn't I think of that?  Do you always get over 100 bucks, I was afraid the next time if I did that, would be less than 10 or something.

I spent more time today playing this than I have playing any game in a while, it felt good.  I had to force myself to stop, otherwise I might be up all night.

How do you raise the max amount of money you can get in an hour?  I've already surpassed the initial 5000.

I think the more properties you own the more money you earn. I got the pick pocket skill, which is handy. Spent some time driving in oncoming traffic just to level up. I have 6 of the assassinations complete.

Gangs are hard to kill. They just keep re-spawning and I end up high tailing it.

Definitely, I don't know how many times I've had to run away from a gang operation because I get swarmed. I'm glad I'm not playing it on Hardcore because Normal has been hard enough for me.

The respawn rate is a little much. But luckily any store you own wipes your Noteriety instantly if you enter it. Much easier than finding one of those Drive through confessionals. I think they were trying to give the player motivation to get the noteriety decrease upgrades. They have some value this time around, unlike the last game.

Here's my ProTip for the earlier part of the game when you don't own everything: Carry at least $5-10k in your pocket at all times. That way if things get a little heated and you need to ditch noteriety in a hurry, you can run up to the nearest store, buy it fast, and duck inside. That trick saved my butt more than once so far.

And yes the more property you own, the more you make per game hour. Love the pickpocket skill to death. At least now if pedestrians insist on getting in my way I can profit from it.

The fully upgraded Gravedigger Shotgun is the most fun weapon I've used since the explosive round revolver in Deus Ex:HR. Even moreso, since the flaming rounds light everyone on fire and caues them to run around like idiots.

It gets even funnier when I use it on the Decker specialists that move at super speeds on the roller blades. Just becomes this fireball riccocheting all over the place catching everything on fire. Completely worth all the money I spent upgrading this gun. But Its a shame that the Shark gun DLC is also a shotgun. I can't use them both at the same time.

And finally got a sword in the game. Which makes me a very happy pirate. Image IPB

I know that.  But before you finish the mission right after your account is frozen, you can't receive any money.  Then after you do finish it, your cap is 5,000.  My current value for money per hour is 5,333 and the last time I received money, it didn't go above 5000.

So, my question was, since I've hit the cap right now, how do I get the cap to go up?

I don't know. The manual doesn't cover that, but there's a sh*t load that's not in the manual.

I wish I could disable the automatic snap-back camera when driving. It's a terrible mechanic. I want control of the camera at all times.

I just figured someone is further than me, are you? What else have you done? Is your hourly cap above 5,000?

Thank you, I'd appreciate it.

Your cap goes up as you move along the plot. I can't say when without spoilers really. But at sensible points. Mine is up to about 75k right now I think.

The Sword becomes available for sale in the weapon shop after you deal with the Deckers in the main plot. Its their sword.

Slim, look for Vehicle Camera Lock under control options. Has a few settings.

Thank you. I was going to go after the deckers first. Sucks that you can't dual wield it and that we get no katana this time around, it upsets me.

What this game totally nails, and what GTA4 failed at, is it rewards you for everything you do. All the extra curricular activities give you money and xp, and feed into more abilities and weapons, which equals more fun. GTA4 had none of this.

And tank mayhem is awesome. B)

Well this took longer than I anticipated. Just about to see if it works (for the 3rd time in as many days) Something. Can't wait to get in and bust some balls.

This game wins on so many levels... I mean it give Slimgrin another chance to complain about GTAIV

Yeah, much better than SR2. Although... It was cool in SR2 that you got Infinite Stamina and stuff just by completing activities. But then, the amount of money you get this time is much more than it was in SR2. And shops seem to be reasonably priced.
