@slimgrin
I'm fond of the Temptress. It turns on a dime and zips along at high speeds. My only complaint is it's a two seat vehicle.
@FoxHound109
The second game is worth your time. Its graphics aren't as good, but everything else is top notch. Stilwater is bigger and more varied than Steelport, and there's always lots to do. It's not quite as over-the-top, but hardly down to earth.

As for vehicles, since all my favorite retro rides like the Hollywood weren't in this time around, my preferred car was the Bootlegger. Since it became both convertable, and seated four this time around. Also has great handling, can outrun anyone and was incredibly tough. My favorite cycle was the Estrada for largely the same reasons. Fully upgraded I couldn't destroy the thing. Even when parking it in the middle of a survival battle.
The racing bikes and high end sports cars both go faster but I found them much harder to control, and alot more fragile. Though the Blade was pretty fun.

Terrible thing to say, but I would actually watch Nyte Blayde, if it was a real TV show...
That was of course the best part of the joke. I could easilly see it as a real show. I had to keep Birk around just to have NyteBlayde as a Homie. His lines are just too funny if you call him in costume.
And also to annoy Shaundi.

I agree with him largely. The game itself is fun despite some of the downgrades, but the story just falls short and really makes me feel less than enthused about future installments.

SR3 is about quality gameplay, and it delivers on that front.

Was it a perfect story? No, but that doesn't mean volition should go ruining the damn thing, and from what volition has told us its being caused by money grubbing and dlc. Which might also be why parts of the gameplay suffered too. :/

Additionally, I did not believe it was poorly handled to begin with. Gat busts out of his chair, slams Loren into glass which gouges out his eye, then shoots down several thugs. *Then* he proceeds to take over the cockpit and manages to hold it while keeping the plane aloft. In short, the Boss and Shaundi would have died without Gat's intervention. Yes, the Boss gets a badass action movie moment when she flies through the plane, shoots people up, and exits out the back to catch Shaundi; but she never would have made it that far without Gat's sacrifice.
Just because his death was not on screen does not make his accomplishments meaningless. Seeing him get gunned down or knifed in a cut scene would not have added a great deal to it; and given the Boss's predicament at that moment, there was no time for drawn out and heartfelt farewells. That scene had to cover a lot of ground in a short span. It could not enjoy the luxury of slower paced drama Gat's hospital breakout or Carlos's mercy killing had.
The rest of the story has admittedly serious flaws. Although I would like to play through it once more and Fraps the cut scenes to get a better handle on some of it. My first trip through is a bit hazy at points, and there is no replay function in this game. I can say I had no problem with Loren's anticlimax of a death scene. I do not believe every story needs a defined big bad to work, and do not believe the story was ever about taking down the Syndicate or standing up to STAG. I saw those both as plot devices. SRtT has a very KotOR2-ish vibe to it plot wise.
That said, the execution of said story hit a few nasty speed bumps. There was too much padding, and too little exposition at several points. SR2 is leaps and bounds ahead in terms of content, exposition, and characterization of the antagonists. I definitely agree with that.

I like how SR2 presented the story over how SRTT presented the story. I liked that in could take "time off" in SR2 and do some activities, then when I wanted story it was bamb, right into the story with the click of an icon. That was great. In SRTT, I was forced to do all the activities... even the ones I hate like Hooker Escort and the one with the exploding quad bike. Those were not fun. Granted, they drove the block by block take over of the city, which was cool, but I wish each one had been more story driven and had less to do with forcing me to do annoying stuff.

That was what I meant by padding. The entire second act was going on missions that were based on activities. Then completing more of those activites. It was like the story went on break for a third of the game. Har har.

Anyway, I'm just disappointed that Laren died and we didn't even see him scream in terror or his lifeless body or even his body running out of blood/breath. And then the off screen killing of Gat, without seeing it I am assuming he went out like a punk.
I'm still at the beginning of Act 2, I figure it's a good stopping point where I am trying to finish the Assassinations mission so far, done all the car jacking ones I've got, oh and the activities have been obliterated.

I finished the assassination contracts up to the point I am at. I just finished with Live! with Killbane. That was hilarious. Easily my favorite mission yet.
I decided to tweak my character's face some more, and I learned some new techniques. And then messed up her face again.
