Plus disscounts on later DLC, and that had better be worth the price I paid for it >>

Well, you get the three for the price of 19.99 instead of what their individual prices are, along with the Nytblade vehicle, Bloody Cannoness, and the Bloody Cannoness and Priest Boy, or whatever the name of the character in the altar boy outfit, outfits.

Volition's DLC abuse should be interesting to watch in action. They are promising forty weeks of it. I wonder how much of that will be outfits, vehicles, and junk items? I hope their art department is working on a player version of the female Decker outfit. Having it on an Xbox Live avatar isn't the same. :P

I doubt I'll be bothering with any DLC unless its extensive story-based missions. We already have enough toys to play with in the game.

Checked my stats and I have 0% control of neighborhoods. What are the requirements to take them over?

I'll decide on a case by case basis. I bought the Season Pass but skipped on the cheats and shark items. I'd totally buy a DLC outfit if I liked it. Then again, I'm the kind of person that buys outfits for my Live avatar when I don't own a 360 and have my profile set to private, soo...

Pretty much this unless its a cheap and massive clothing/car pack.

Why pay for outfits when you have access to community versions? Such as this stunning example:

The options available are finite; and quite frankly, SR3 characters look a bit more samey than they did in SR2 at times. The loss of clothing layers hurts customization. There are certain looks that are not easy to create, and several outfits outright suck.

That is especially true if you go with a high sex appeal stat as in your example above. I found very few clothes for my character that did not look ridiculous on her. It tempted me to bottom out her sex appeal later on.

I've just discovered the joys of the sniper rifle. Take up position some distance from a gang operation and see if you can pick them off before they reach you. :)

I'll have to try that sometime. In my last game I always hit gang activity areas head on. I thought it didn't count unless the energy circles popped over them. That and I usually kept the Reaper drones equipped in that slot. The rifle was my long range sniping weapon.

The little helicopter plus an upgraded sniper rifle is absurdly fun. Fly around until you see a gang operation, the choose a nice high space... set yourself down and just start shooting. Love it!

I haven't tried that yet. There aren't really any other ways I can see to get on top of buildings. I just recruited 3 homies and took out a few operations. I snipe from a distance while my pals get in close. Good times.

You have to do the following:

Obtain all the cribs, there's only 3 so far you have to buy.
Purchase all the Properties
Do all the Activity iterations
Take down all the Gang Ops

I think that's all of it, if I'm missing something i don't know what it is.  So, to take over every area you have to do every last thing of those categories.

Wow, just completed gang bang, got introduced to Stag. Intense. The Jessica Perish story by the Stag commander, lol. Awesome.

Contrary to what I said ealier, I find myself attached to the characters in this story - to Oleg, Viola, Zimo, Kinsey, Peirce. These are cool characters and their voice acting is excellent. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but I can't believe how much better this game is than GTA4. I actually like the story and characters in this game. Believe it or not they're so much more convincing than the dry imitations of Rockstar's game.

There is a STAG vehicle you can find late game that makes landing on buildings easier than flying a helicopter. Of course by then you will have likely taken out most of the gang operations anyway.

Yeah, that was one of my favorites.  After my brother was watching something, I realized that Dee Bradley Baker voices the commander of the STAG troops.

Wait til you go through Live! With Killbane.

Yeah?  That's good news.  I played Saints Row 2 first, I tried the demo of SR1, but wasn't interested.

Though after playing SR2, I got a chance to try out the first game without buying it, one of my dormmates at the time had the game.  I did it just because I wanted to find out the story leading up to SR2, that's how much the characters interested me.

Plus, ever since he was Goliath in Gargoyles, Keith David is one of my favorite voice actors of all time.  And the small dialogue he had in SR2 as Julius  wasn't enough.  I got my fix from the first game.  It helped to shed some light on some things.

I was planning to get this game but after so many complaints over the story being messed up... I'm not sure if I'll get it... I really liked this franchise for its badass and hilarious storyline. That and ... Gat.

It's an awesome game. The characters and story are better than I thought they would be. Still, gameplay is clearly the focus here, not story.

I may change my mind about the story once I finish, which I'm close to doing. When S.T.A.G comes into play, it's hard not to see some heavy political satire.

I don't know what the heck Volition was thinking but this NEEDS to return in SR4.

So, last night I stayed up until 3am in the morning to finish off SR3.

Well, all that's left is going Co-Op and getting the three achievements for that. I just need someone else to play with that I know won't quit and actually help me out.

I'm on the PC and my user name is RPGamer13. I just don't like playing with random people when I'm trying for a specific goal.

Anyway, the story; while short, it had its moments and I liked them a lot. I'm also glad I spent those 30 hours to get all the upgrades, the game would have felt way too short to me otherwise.

My favorite ending is the one where you go after Killbane. Even though some people die, killing Killbane was sweet, I like how it's done and then pierce asks "was it worth it?". And then you're standing in front of burning plane wreckage.

And honestly, it looks like they could go either way with what really happened for SR4. The ending going after Killbane feels like it was more serious and opens up some nice possibilities. But then the other ending, feels like things with Killbane aren't over and that could open up a future appearance for the character and those people that die in the other ending, actually survive.

I think it will return in SR4. Honestly, I think maybe SR3 was handled like a test on going for a new direction on how the characters look and everything. I think they did a better job, especially with the body types. But the faces still need work, I have got to the point where I'm recreating the faces I got in SR2 that just look weird during cutscenes.

I'll change some things around and it looks good in the character creator and while running around where you don't see it anyway. But then you get to a cutscene and my female faces make them look weird and stuff.

I also hope they use what they've done for SR3 as a baseline and tweak things from there.

I had no idea Volition developed the FreeSpace series. Wow. That's a pedigree. they need to do another space sim. :(

Almost done with this game, 36 hrs and counting. Loved the tour of the history of gaming in the virtual reality mission. I was laughing my ass off.

Unlikely to happen, its master THQ has a new marketing model, that depends heavily on game content and future DLC. Its went "Go Big or Go home". Like Red Faction it didn't "Go big" so it got canned. I don't see a space Sim "going Big" I mean simulations tend to be in part of the small market.

Despite... that... the story is really great albeit very short. I would 100% reccomend buying the game. Although It hasn't seen as much playtime from me as it would have had Skyrim not been released at a similar time, it is SO much fun.
