Okay, so after my third or fourth beer this evening (hardly a great way to start a topic, I know, but bear with me), I had a curious thought: where will the characters of Mass Effect end up a decade hence?

This,
of course, is assuming that a majority of them survive a) the combined
risks of the first two games and B) the yet-to-be-unleashed wrath of the
Reapers, but since I'm toying with several ideas for a short story (yes, I write ff) I thoght it would be interesting to see where the main characters take their lives once the war is over. To save space and time, I'll just concentrate on the LIs (though if you want to add more, please feel free to do so).

Shepard: In my playthroughs, he romanced Tali--and ONLY Tali, no ME1 love interests. If she survives Mass Effect 3, I could see him retiring from the Spectres and the pair of them rebuilding on Rannoch, eventually building a family through adoption. (Sappy? Yes. My playthrough? Also yes. So hush.)

Garrus: Call me a sucker for this 'ship, but I think he and Kasumi would get along spectacularly. I dunno, maybe going back to Palaven together? After they had discussed her sticky fingers, of course.

Ashley: I spared her on Virmire, since I thought Kaiden's duckbutt 'doo was silly; assuming she survives, she would probably push her career as a Spectre to the fullest, doing her damndest while reading and writing poetry to keep her from becoming completely enveloped.

Kaiden: Radioactive ashes gently settling into the mud on a Virmire beach. He's dead, remember?

Liara: ShadowBrokerShadowBrokerShadowBroker . . .  ooh, shiny console. Ha. Haha. MWAhahahahahahaha---ah, ahem. Need I say more?

Miranda/Jacob: I haven't even played Galaxy yet and I already think these two should stick with one another; yes, I know Miranda is sterile, but this is the 22nd Century--I'm certain invitro would have come quite a long way by this time.

Jack: She actually got me thinking quite a bit; I'm a Jack x Thane fan for certain, but according to the mythos (as of ME2) he has months left, or at most a year; what about after that? Call me crazy, but it occured to me that Samara would try to help Jack through that loss--though initially because she was afraid she would go completely 'round the bend with grief. Not in a platonic (or pervy) way, mind you, but more as a mentor.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Thoughts, questions, comments, garbonzo beans?

Shepard: Still commanding the Normandy as a Spectre, flying through the galaxy, righting wrongs and generally being a badass.

Ashley: General Williams, Commandant of the Alliance Marine Corps. Also, if she romanced Shepard, there should be some little Shepley kids running around :D

Garrus: One of the Council's best Spectre's, works with Shepard occasionally.

Joker: Is it wrong for me to picture Admiral Moreau? At the very least, he should be the Captain of the Alliance Flagship.

Jacob: Colonel Taylor, commanding a Special Forces Regiment.

Grunt: First Krogan Spectre. He's a lot more intelligent than people give him credit for. Pair him with Shepard and they'd be an unstoppable team.

Tali: I'm a massive Kal'Reegar/Tali fan, so I'd wish them both well in the reclamation of Rannoch. Alternatively, if Tali is Shepard's LI, I'd like to see Kal'Reegar as the first Quarian Spectre.

Legion: Acting as the Geth ambassador to the Citadel.

Wrex: First Krogan Council member. He has the gravitas.

The Illusive Man: I always liked the guy. Offer him a chance to go retire peacefully.

Zaeed: Tracked down Vido with Shepards help and finished him off. Took control of the Blue Suns. Declared his own private war against the batarian slaver groups.

Jack: Working as Zaeed's field commander. She's found peace, and a purpose, keeping people save from slavers and pirates.

Miranda: The new Illusive Woman. Cerberus is still pro-human, but far more legitimate than it was previously. I'd love it if she and Jacob were back together.

Samara: Retires from being a Justicar and goes to live out the rest of her life in seclusion with her daughters. She's done enough, she deserves some peace.

Gabby and Ken: Married, lots of kids, working on some kickass new ships.

Chakwas and Mordin: Working on a cure for Kepral's Syndrome.

Kasumi: No change. To pull off her next heist, she'll need a crew as nuts as she is :D (Ocean's Eleven reference). On a serious note, I could picture her working as a Spectre. Her discretion and stealth skills would be invaluable to the Council.

Liara: Shadow Broker. If not Shepard's LI, then currently in a relationship with Feron.

Kelly: Running a therapy centre for victims of the Reaper War.

Customs Turian: Died under mysterious circumstances. His last words were "You humans are all Racist!"

Anderson: Head of the Council. He's earned it.

Admiral Hackett: Was Supreme Commander of all Galactic Forces during the Reaper War. Is now retired, relaxed and playing with his grandchildren. He has also earned it.

Ambassador Udina: Teaching political science at the Citadel University. Those who can't do, teach.

Niftu Cal: The first Volus Council member. His proposals sweep through unopposed, like a great wind.

Aria: Head of the Terminus Alliance, has pulled together the Terminus systems into a working economic and political force. She is currently dating Wrex.

The Preaching Hanar from ME1: The First Hanar Councillor.

Blasto: Was fired from the Spectre's for telling the Hanar Councillor: "This one is of the opinion that the other one is a big, stupid jellyfish." He was later re-instated by Councillor Wrex.

Administrator Lorik Qui'in: The new Turian Council member.

The Consort and Septimus Oraka: Retired and living together on Thessia.

Fist: (If you didn't kill him in ME1) Still working as a dockhand on Omega.

Rear Admiral Mikhailovich: New Supreme Commander of the Combined Citadel Forces. Settled a diplomatic dispute with the batarians by telling them: "I'm not happy. What were you thinking?"

Balak: Dead.

Turian Councillor: Ashley killed him.

Asari Councillor: Was smart enough to evacuate. Retired from politics to marry Admiral Mikhailovich.

Salarian Councillor: Retired, and became a well reviewed actor, taking out five Best Actor awards.

Matriarch Aethyta: The new Asari Councilor.

Thane: Got a lung transplant, became the first Drell Council Member.

Maelon: Started up a clinic on Omega. Became famous for punching out Vorcha.

Gianna Parsini: Became the head of Noverian Internal Security.

Captain Bailey: Ended up as Executor of C-Sec.

Kolyat: Currently a C-Sec Captain in charge of Zakeera Ward.

Orianna Lawson: Works in colonial development. Dating Kolyat.

Did I miss anyone?

Jacob and Miranda were with each other before, it didn't work out. Don't ask Jacob about it though, he doesn't want to give a bro his personal advice or anything if you're interested in her (and some people wonder why he's hated).

All I know is Jack + Raas Shepard 4evah!!!! To hell with the rest.

I might have to adopt Grunt and make him my son or something though, tank imprints can't be enough guidance for an adolescent. I always feel a little bad that I just took him from Okeer and use him as a battering-ram for my suicide mission, rather than putting him in the care of an actual family. So selfish. <_<

Shepard: Broke ties with the alliance for scapegoating him.  Still a spectre, but uses the Shadow Broker for intel.

Liara: Still the Shadow Broker.  Still Shepard's favorite asari, both for intel and romance.

Thane: Dead from Keprel's Syndrome.

Ashley: Still living up to her nickname on Virmire.

Garrus: Now a Spectre.  Shepard put his name forward as a candidate.

Joker: Shepard's personal pilot.  Making more money.

Jacob: Still trying to figure out who he is.

Grunt: Second in command to Wrex on Tuchanka.

Tali: Back on Rannoch.  Helping her people rebuild.

Legion: The first Geth Spectre.  Shepard put his name forward as a candidate.

Wrex: Number 1 on Tuchanka.

The Illusive Man: Half past dead.

Zaeed: Still owning up the joint.

Jack: Helping Zaeed own up the joint.

Miranda: Chief enforcer and intelligence officer for the Shadow Broker.  Helping sister in colonial development during spare time.

Samara: With Morinth dead, retires from the Justicars.  Spending the rest of her days with her other daughters.

Chakwas: Found to have been secretly spying on Shepard on behalf of the alliance.  Subsequently killed from friendly fire.

Kasumi: Still has sticky fingers.  Finally found the courage to flirt with Jacob.  Got rejected.

Kelly: Running a veterinarian hospital.  Specializes in treating varren for STDs.

Anderson: Still serving on the council.

Admiral Hackett: Retired and inducted into the hall of shame of helping the alliance scapegoat Shepard.

Aria: Ousted from Omega via mutiny.  Rekindled her relationship with Wrex.  Has one in the oven.

Blasto: The first and only Hanar spectre.  Prefers to talk people to death rather than shoot them.

Administrator Lorik Qui'in: In protective custody for being a snitch.  Snitches get stitches.

The Consort: Still whoring herself out to everyone on the Citadel.

Ambassador Udina: Political turmoil.  Married the Consort upon agreement to let her continue to **** herself out to everyone on the Citadel.

Balak: D.  E.  A.  D.  Dead!  Dead!  Dead!

Matriarch Aethyta: Finally reconnected with Liara after revealing she is her father.  Is now the asari council member.

Feron:  Intelligence officer for the Shadow Broker.

Gianna Parsini: Head of NIA (Noverian Internal Affairs).

Captain Bailey: Executor of C-Sec.

Kolyat: Officer in C-Sec.

The Honorable Daniel Shepard: President of the Republic of Mindoir, First Lady (and Chief of Staff) Miranda Lawson.

Garrus Vakarian: RoM General, Head of Republic of Mindoir Special Operations.

Kaidan Alenko: Alliance Lt. General, Head of Alliance Special Operations.

Ashley Williams: Command Sergeant Major, Alliance Special Operations Command.

Tali’Zorah:  Admiral, living on Rannoch with Kal’Reeger.

Urdnot Wrex: Great Chief of the New Krogan Empire.

Dr. Liara T’Soni: Brokering Shadows.

Joker: Owns his own exploration firm. No one tells him he can’t fly, ‘cause he owns the ships!

David Anderson: Prime Minister, Systems Alliance.

Donnel Udina: Systems Alliance Ambassador to the Citadel.

Grunt: Still working his way through mating requests.

Jack: Dead. “Biotic burnout”

Jacob Taylor: Running his own “Mercenary” outfit – actually a front for several Alliance, Citadel, and RoM black ops missions.

Kasumi Goto: Dead. She was on a job.  Everything was going well when the chap she was robbing got up to use the bathroom. She went for the door, he went for his shotgun. If her cloak had held for ½ a second longer she would have made it. It didn’t.

Legion: Reintegrated into the geth collective. Legion’s reintegration was key in the general opening of relations with the geth, a “gethnost” if you will.

Mordin Solus: Dead. Old age.

Samara: Retired and living in seclusion with her daughters (cheers Made Nightwing!)

Thane Krios: Dead. K. Syndrome.

Zaeed Massani: Retired and living on Bekenstein with Matriarch Aethyta.

The Illusive Man: While officially “dead”, he actually works for Shepard as the head of the Mindoir Intelligence Service under an assumed identity.

Dr. Chakwas: Sits on the Board of Directors of Conrad Verner’s “Shepards” charity.

Kelly Chambers: Runs her own psychological clinic / charity helping people who suffered in the war (again, cheers Made Nightwing!), she also sits on the Board of “Shepards.”

Gabby and Ken: Married. Senior development technicians for the Alliance Fleet yards on Mars.

Sgt. Gardner: Owns his own general service contracting / construction firm on Bekenstein. His “We’ll do whatever it takes!” commercials are all over Bekenstein TV. He and Zaeed are fishin’ buddies.

Gianna Parasini: Attorney General, Republic of Mindoir.

Shiala: Colony Director, Feros Colony.

Steven Hackett: Alliance Secretary of Defense

Aria: Still the Queen of Omega.  I'm still not sure if this deserves congratulations or pity.

Actually, I can see Samara and Miranda getting together:

"Jacob is an earnest young man.  Events will either forge him into a great man, or destroy him completely.  Miranda is undoubtedly a hard woman, who does not allow personal feelings to get in the way of her duty.  As it should be."

I even have an incomplete fanfic (which I don't expect to ever finish, by the way) that follows some of the characters 20 years post-ME3, and I had the two of them getting together.  They're both hard as steel, but both are likely somewhat brittle.  I know they're strong people, but a person shouldn't have to be invincible every second of her life.  With Miranda changing her view on some of Cerberus's activities as ME2 goes along, I can see her softening her attitude about aliens and, without TIM to work for, she might feel a bit adrift.  Samara, on the other hand, has seen and sometimes done horrifying things no one, no matter how strong, isn't deeply marked by.

It's not good for someone to lock all that away forever, and I like to think that they're two people who could find some happiness and comfort together, under the right circumstances.  They have a surprising amount in common personality-wise.  I think, once the barriers came down (get it barriers?) they could develop a very beautiful relationship.  I could see it starting by them confiding inner feelings in one another, knowing that each understands the other.  That level of emotional intimacy, for such as these two, would almost demand a romantic involvement, and I'd think they'd both just fall right into it.

Besides what I mentioned about Samara and Miranda....

Shepard: Still commanding the Normandy, still a Spectre, finally get his overdue promotion to Captain. Married to Ashley Williams.

Ashley Williams: Became a mustang after ME2, earning her commission as an officer. At the end of 10 years, she's a full bird Colonel. Did a stint as the chief instructor for N7 recruits at the Alliance Naval Academy. After 10 years, however, she gets out from behind the desk and roams the galaxy with Shepard kicking the **** out of all that need it.

Tali: Married Kal'Reegar. Became captain of the Raaya after ME3, and after ten years was chosen for the Admiralty board.

Liara: Still the Shadowbroker. Married Feron, and they run Hagalaz as a "family business" so to speak. Still helps Shepard and Williams a lot with intel.

Wrex: Wins himself a new title: Clan Chief of the Krogan Empire. Goes down in history as the greatest Krogan Warlord to have ever lived.

Garrus: Finally found some peace. Married a nice Turian girl from Palaven, named a Spectre by the Council. Was remembered for erasing the stain Saren Arterious left on the honor of the Turian race. Had a chance to go into politics, possibly even being named to the council. But Garrus hates politics. He prefers less talking more doing.

Kasumi: None of the old team ever heard much from her again. That kind of goes with being a pro thief. Interestingly enough, 10 years after ME3, the head of the original lady liberty showed up in a transport container sitting in the middle of Times Square. No one knows how it got there.

Samara: Amazingly, married to Miranda (see my above post for more details). Both settled down to a more quiet, if not too quiet, existence. Samara becomes chief trainer of Justicar recruits, Miranda runs a security consulting firm. They both take the 'odd job' on the side for old times sake. Technology derived from Reaper indoctrination tech and Thorian spores produces a cure for the Ardat-Yakshi condition Samara's daughters suffer from, and they are cured and thus freed of their self-imposed exile.

Miranda: See Samara.

Zaeed: Goes back to being a billy badass mercenary and is quite happy doing it. If you killed Vido in ME2, he goes straight back into merc work leading the Blue Suns. If not, he takes a side trip to kill Vido, then takes over the Blue Suns. Gets a lot work from Shepard and Williams, especially if they need something done without either of their names being anywhere near it.  Hangs around with Aethyta a lot.

Legion: the collection of programs that were once collectively known as "Legion" currently dwell in the Geth dyson sphere.

Mordin: Old age. History recorded him as the greatest of Sur'Khesh's defenders for his actions in the Reaper War.

Grunt: Promoted to Battlemaster in the Urdnot clan. Wrex's best wetwork man.

Jacob: Rises to the rank of full bird colonel in the Alliance Marines. Restarts the Corsair program, this time with more teeth and less red tape. This really puts rogue pirate elements in the Traverse on the run, and increases the security of Alliance colonies. Marries a wild assed girl who was a former Blue Suns merc. Corsair life suits her and Jacob derives great satisfaction from smacking down the criminal elements of the Terminus.

Thane: Makes peace with his son, passes away peacefully from Kepral's Syndrome.

Jack: Biotic degneration finally kills her. Spent her final years fighting for, and helping out, biotics that had been used for experimentation by various thug groups in the Terminus systems.

Chakwas: Rises to the rank of Surgeon Admiral in the Alliance Navy.  Retires from the military and becomes a fellow at the Alliance Institute of Internal Medicine on Terra Nova.

Joker: refuses to be transferred away from flying the Normandy. This makes him the highest ranking frigate helmsman in the Alliance fleet, holding the rank of Staff Commander.

Admiral Hackett: after the final victory that destroyed Harbinger in Earth orbit, Hackett moved to a professor's job initially, teaching naval tactics at the Alliance Naval Academy. After this, he ran for and won election to Alliance Parliament as the MP from Earth. He was quickly elected Alliance Prime Minister.

Councilor Valern: forced to resign from the Council in disgrace for not taking the Reaper threat seriously.

Asari Councilor: Managed to hold her Council seat after the Reaper War, but her political clout was greatly diminished. Was eventually forced to retire so a more respected Asari could fill her seat.

Salarian Councilor: Killed during the Reaper War.

Udina (regardless of being on the council or not): Killed during the Reaper invasion of Earth.

Anderson: continued on as humanity's councilor (if he was named to the council in ME1). If Udina was named, Anderson takes his place after Udina dies.

Gianna Parisini: Goes to law school after the Reaper War, quickly rising in the ranks after graduation.  Is appointed Alliance Solicitor General by Prime Minister Hackett.

Shiala: Elected president of the Feros colony, making her the first non-human to hold executive elective office of a human colony.

Conrad Vernor: His charity, Shepards, did more than any other after the Reaper War to help out soldiers who were physically and psychologically scared by the war.

Matriarch Aethyta: Still tending bar. Hangs out with Zaeed a lot. All their friends laugh at them and wonder when they'll make it official.

Rachni Queen: retreated to their own worlds after the end of the Reaper War. They don't usually communicate with others, likely they're afraid the other races still hold a grudge. Yet a few are trusted enough to converse regularly with the Rachni.

Gabby and Ken: married.  Both hold the rank of Rear Admiral in the Alliance Navy, and became the chief naval architects at the Hahne-Kedar shipyards on Mars.

Mess Sgt Gardner: Opened a restauraunt outside of Memphis, Tennessee and built it inside a piece of Harbinger's dead carcass.  Military veterans of any race eat for half price.  He named the restauraunt "The Harbinger of Southern Cuisine's Ascension".  Some of his close friends, to the confusion of everyone else, refer to his establishment as "The Arse Factory".

Kelly: Joins with Conrad Vernor to help soldiers from the Reaper War.

The Illusive Man: Toast.

I suspect most people see it more or less your way.  It's just that most people are more polite than me and won't say it out loud

Since people really seem to like to focus on Jack's "neural degeneration," I'd say that it'd either kill her, or, if befriended by Shepard, and/or if she's his LI, she'd eventually be convinced by him to undergo the risky surgery that removes the biotic implants from her central nervous system, thus halting the "neural degeneration."  Together, Jack and Shepard can deal with any "existential" difficulties that result from having an integral part of herself "removed."

Shepard: Finally promoted to captain. Still a Spectre. Travels the galaxy, righting wrongs, kicking ass, and taking names. Not always good with the name-taking part... has EDI take care of that.

Garrus: Finally completed Spectre training - selected as a Spectre almost immediately. Heads team responsible for Council interventions on Omega. Aria has recently placed a one million credit bounty on his head, and surprisingly, another million credit bounty on his genitals. Joker has often wondered why.

Tali: Married to Shepard, first Quarian to undergo a dangerous and experimental gene therapy that enables life without a suit. Still keeps the Normandy running smoothly.

VS: Left Spectres after events of ME3. Holds high-ranking government job in the Alliance.

Liara: Shadow Broker, and doing the job with a minimal amount of blood and horror. Keeps an eye on Shepard and drops in from time to time. Has standing offer to be a surrogate mother for Shepard and Tali... the Asari child's genes would be randomized off of both their genetic codes. Tali is still "thinking about it."

Wrex: Still rules Clan Urdnot and is slowly bringing prosperity to Tuchanka.

Miranda: Running Cerberus, also with a minimum of blood and horror. Assigned position by Shepard after he put a bullet in the Illusive Man during ME3. Keeps watch on her younger sister and visits occasionally.

Jacob: Blissfully riding a desk as a security consultant. His three children are his life's focus.

Mordin: Deceased, natural causes. Achieved notoriety in his final years by becoming the oldest known Salarian to father children. Developed the gene therapy for Tali that is now being adapted to the wider Quarian race, but never associated his name with the project or otherwise took credit. Never was able to find genophage cure that would not have resulted in mass Krogan overpopulation.

Jack: Still undergoing treatment at Grissom Academy. Her L-5 biotic implants were removed to prevent the burnout of her nervous system, but her innate biotic ability still remains the greatest threat to her health. She has a long road of physical and psychological therapy ahead.

Grunt: Slowly climbing the social hierarchy of Tuchanka... by climbing over the bodies of those who challenge him or insult his tank-born heritage. Wrex's favorite soldier. Owns a pet shark he "liberated" from Earth that has grown fat from eating dead Krogan. Even the Varren are scared of it.

Samara: Retired to the seclusion of her daughters' monastery. Occasionally visits Shepard.

Thane: Saved from terminal condition with the help of artificial lungs developed by a team of Council scientists. Massive Council funding provided after Shepard called in a "favor" from Councilor Valern. At Shepard's suggestion, retired to live quietly in the Florida Everglades and is thoroughly enjoying the humid environment. Works part time for the local game warden by "taking down" poachers.

Kasumi: Retired and married to Jacob. Giving birth to three children still hasn't kept her from fitting in the old catsuit, and Jacob has to beg her not to break into places "just for fun." She listens... mostly. They have the most expensively decorated house in the neighborhood.

Zaeed: Still not dead after five years of trying to commit "suicide by Omega." Aria got sick of sending people to kill him and flat offered Zaeed five million credits to leave and never come back. He bought a place on Illium and is now married to Matriarch Aethyta. The sex, Shepard hears, is mind-blowing.

Legion: The processes formerly occupying the mobile platform "Legion" were dispersed into the Geth superstructure and currently hold a prominent places within Geth "society" as it were. The mobile platform itself is inert and remains on the Normandy. EDI occasionally turns it on to scare new crew members.

Joker: Still flying the Normandy, still bickering with EDI.

EDI: Growing increasingly bored with the Normandy's current missions as pirates and slavers can only offer so much resistance to a battle AI. Devotes more and more energy into finding new and innovative ways to screw with Joker. Entertained by Shepard's suggestion that they "just **** and get it over with."

Ken: Married to Gabby. They are expecting their ninth child, the first single after four sets of twins. Ken is scheduled for a second vasectomy, as the first apparently did not take.

Gabby: Married to Ken. Often calls him her "tenth child."

Kelly: Currently "working under" Miranda. Joker often speculates as to what capacity.

Anderson: Starting to enjoy his role as Human Councilor. There is a widespread rumor on the Citadel that he and the Asari Councilor are in a secret relationship. Neither party has openly denied the claims.

CHARACTERS WHOSE FATES ARE HIGHLY TIED TO MY PERSONAL SHEPARD:

Adrian Shepard: Suspected shadow broker agent, last seen riding a thresher maw on the Batarian homeworld. Currently presumed dead, for the sixth time.

Liara T'Soni
: Suspected by some to be the shadow broker, she currently resides on Ilos, working as an archaeologist. However, she has published no new papers in many years, and there have been a surprisingly large number of attempts on her life. Her two daughters, Benezia Shepard and Hannah T'Soni, live with their grandmother on the citadel.

Hannah Shepard: After Udina stepped down as councilor, Hannah Shepard won the seat through the fame she earned in the war against the reapers, and her son's oft-quoted endorsement, "I've faced reapers, and I'd never want to go up against my mother." Because of the dangerous lives her son and daughter-in-law lead, she takes care of their children, who enjoy the immense privelege and protection offered to them by their position, an frequent vidchats & visits from their parents.

Jack: Recently, a frozen corpse collided with the Aliance frigate Hastings at high speeds, killing one and wounding three. As they say, Isaac Newton is the deadlies sunnova**** in space

CHARACTERS WHOSE FATES ARE REGULAR-STRENGTH TIED TO MY PERSONAL SHEPARD:

Garrus Vakarian: Believed by some to be an agent of the shadow broker, but far more likely to be an independent operator. In 2189, Vakarian successfully dismantled the Blue Sun's mercenary organization, aquiring large portions of their assets for himself, granting him what he's always wanted: personal freedom to persue justice no matter the cost. One of his close associates was recently seen gunning down two batarian slavers, while she was pregnant.

Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy: the first captain of the migrant fleet to keep non-quarians as permanant crew, Tali has become well known throughout the galaxy as a sweet girl you absolutely do not want to mess with. She often refers to Shepard as "big brother", and is known to co-ordinate with all her former crew mates.

Joker: part of Tali's crew, and a famed pilot, several movies, books, and videogames have been based around him, and he is a hero to many. Less widely known is that he is just as popular with the quarian ladies as he is with the mass media.

Kaiden Alenko: After serving as a spectre for seven years, Kaiden founded a school for biotics of all races, to come together, and learn to use their talents for both peace and war. He's a friend to all his former crew mates, but in recent years he has started to grow more and more reserved.

Ashley Williams: A symbol of interspecies interdependence and sacrifice, close associates often share a sad chuckle at her legacy.

Urdnot Wrex: Supreme overlord of the reborn Krogan Dominion (otherwise known as the "Krogan Krush" or the "Most Terrifying Place in the Galaxy") Wrex more than has his hands full trying to keep the various warring clans of his people in some semblence of order. His position does have its perks, and it is said that half the krogan alive today are his descendents.

Thane Krios: Now dead, Thane spent his final years founding a community of Drell assasins on arid Tchuchanka, on Shepard's advice. By all accounts a sad man, none who knew him claim to believe he ever truly found peace.

Urdnot Grunt: Clan Urdnot always has enemies, and Grunt always has his shotgun. Wrex often says the look on Grunt's face when he is given a new assignment is half the reason the Dominion still has Wrex as its leader.

Mordin Solus: Now dead, Mordin spent his final years in a flurry of genetic engineering projects, altering the genophage to make it more obviously sustainable, working on a cure for kepral & vrolik syndromes, and trying to improve the Quarian immune system. His eulogy, read by Shepard, called him, "A troubled man, who solved many troubling problems"

Doctor Chakwas: Retired on Earth, she organizes a Normandy reunion every year.

David Anderson: Retired on the citadel, he spends his days fishing in lakes with no fish, telling old war stories to anyone who'll listen. A very contented individual.

The Thorian: though the original creature on Feros was killed by Shepard, a special council scientific taskforce succeeded in cloning the great being. Currently inactive, several thorians are growing on worlds deemed unsuitable for any other form of life.

Jacob Tyler: a suspected Shadow Broker agent on the citadel, Jacob has been involved in several recent shootouts in the wards.

Miranda Lawson: after spending a few years working with various former crewmates, she gradually realized that this wasn't the life for her. She has since settled down on Eden Prime, working at Alenko's school for biotics, where she has an especially close bond with many of the younger students.

Zaeed Massani: for a few months, it seemed that Shepard's influence would hold his followers together, but, alas, it was not to be for Zaeed. Eventually, he found himself facing down Garrus Vakarian, and was "scoped and dropped"

Legion: There is no data available to explain why, but the mobile platform Legion has stayed active and independant of the geth collective, often working in tandem with Shepard. When not in close proximity to explosions and thresher maws, Legion is often seen organizing charity work, such as the Rannoch Rehabilitation Project, and the Eden Prime Reparations Attempt.

Samara: the path of the justicar is neverending, and Samara continues to walk it unerringly. On several occasions, she has shot at Shepard, Garrus, and Wrex, but somehow, she always seems to miss.

EDI: now Ambassador EDI, this AI has proven that "you should be judged by the contents of your mind, not the construction of your brain" AI-organic relations are still strenuous, but decidedly less genocidal.

TIM: assasinated by Shepard in 2190, his organization is believed to have been partially absorbed by the Shadow Broker, and partially split into two remnant organization. The Sons of Hades organize illegal weapons research and manufacture, and are involved in many passive attempts to keep out alien influence. Their motto is "Peace through Death." The Dogs of War, on the other hand, is a well-known terrorist organization oft targeted by Vakarian.

Yeoman Chambers: well-known Formax model, she is known as "the bedder of a billion beasts"

Kaidan : new Human Cauncelor with loads of maigrens (If not romanced by Shepard. If romanced then he is aboard Normandy SE 4 as ... you know...)

Thane: alive and cured! Spending time with his son (If not romanced by Shepard. If romanced then he is aboard Normandy SE 4 as ... you know... )

Jakob : Poster boy for all human bodybuilding magazines, does push-ups every day for at least 10 hours (if not romanced by Shepard. If romanced then he is aboard Normandy SE 4 as... you know...)

The Ilusive Man :
stashed into aquarium at Sheps Cabin on Normandy SE 4 as her personal pet.  (The walls of aquarium can be darkened for the time when she doesnt want to see him or for him to see her. Also there is utter silence in the aquarium as the walls are sound-proofed)

well ok, thats more on the fun side of it... will think about it when I finaly get true ME3... when it gets out...

Hey now, play nice people. This is a mental exercise, nothing more. A lot of what I have read contradicts my canon, but I just go with it. Hell, some of it has absolutely made my evening--you people crack me up sometimes.

It just felt like my idea was being unvalidated in an exercise where all ideas are welcome. I have to speak against that.

on a related note, i didnt know Jack was mentally deteriorating. I thought she was just a victim of her circumstances. thats why i gave her that ending in my 10year epilogue.
