On a Win 7 computer that easily meets requirment. I just installed the game and never played the early version. I'm at
the beginning part of trying to cross the bridge to archangle. For some reason
non of my weapons fire. I do not get fired at either. I have ammo but
nothing happens.

I am very new to this game but I don't think its
me. I have restarted the game sequence and rebooted the computer,
still nothing. I thought about reinstalling but wanted to check here
first.

1) Please register the game on the forums. This is not an accusation, but given the spate of users with illegally downloaded copies coming to the forums asking for help, forum registration is the only way we can be sure we are dealing with a legit copy. OK, I registered it using the provided link. During installiation I used the same # but I have not included it as one of my games On EA's site.

My problem is my weapons do not fire. I have ammo and can change weapons but none work.
The problem started at ( Omega Archangle's Base ) When I entered battle none of my weapons would fire. Its like The other soldiers and Archangle do not notice me or my team. We are not fired on. I suppose they don't notice because me or my squad do not fire on them.

I am not online, just playing the game. This is after landing on Omega and joining the mercs (  I think thats the name) and taking the shuttle to Archangles base. I have not had any problems before this, the weapons worked fine and the game runs smooth. All other functions work fine before we enter battle.I have not modified anything  just installed the game and started playing.

Your help is appreciated. Rod

As soon as that part of the mission starts, did you try shooting the guys in front of you in the back, just after Shepard says "lets give them a surprise of our own"? From memory, you need to attack those guys pretty much right away to get the mission moving along.
Have you tried using one of your, or a squadmates, abilities on them? Concussive shot, pull, warp or the like?

Yes I tried to shoot them in the back, did not work. I don't know all weapons but the warp worked. I made it farther in the sequence but I end up getting killed because the shooting weapons do not work! Obviously there is a problem, Its not playable this way.

The only other thing I can think of at the moment is there is a corruption in the game files.
If running a Steam version of the game, try verifying the cache intergrity. If its disk or EA download, try reinstalling.
During the uninstall procedure, you will get asked if you want to keep your save games and settings.

It is a windows 7 pc run on a disk. I'm guessing but wouldn't saving where I'm at just bring on the same problem? I know very little about this so any detail you or someone could share would be very helpful. Thanks for your help.

Try loading an earlier save, going off and doing something else, like getting the Convict or Warlord, and come back for Archangel. If it still does it then, it will be a glitch in the game files, which a reinstall should fix. If it doesnt do it, it will show that there was a bug in the save game file that wasnt allowing the mission to kickstart.
Also, just a hunch, but check the mouse options in your control panel and disable all things like Mouse Trails, Snap To, and Hide Cursor While Typing.

I started at the beginning it did not work. I saved my files then reinstalled. Did not work so I did a complete uninstall -- that's what it took. Was trying to avoid that but it is fine now. Problem solved.
