Why are Miranda and Shepard giants?

There's just way too much crap in that artwork. It's tiring. I'd personally prefer a more simplistic approach like the ME2 Collectors' Edition.AlexRmF wrote...

If they scrap this cover for another one I'd like to see one with more crewmen on it like we've had the last two games maybe shep and team dextro with Ash?

One thing all of you have to remember is that you are the diehard fans that will be purchasing the game no matter what the boxart looks like. You are also the most likely to have issue with it no matter what it looks like, because Mass Effect is so dear to you, and you will have the largest amount of preconceived notions about what YOU want it to look like.
So, if I was part of the marketing team, I'd not be too concerned with your opinions (no offense). I would however, be concerned with the opinions of potential players who have not yet experienced the series, but have heard snippets of information about it through all the other gamesites and publications, Gamestop, word of mouth etc.
Box art designers have all of this in mind when they design box art, as well as how the box will look on a shelf in a store, the most important feature of box art design.
I would instead be concerned with the cover art of the Collector's edition, which I'd imagine most of you be buying, displaying, excited for. That design will not have to appeal to a new or casual fanbase, so expect greatness.

OK, but then the Kaiden, Legion, Jack and Thane people will go into seizures, thus starting a reaper sized angry invasion on the forums about why "their" character was denied.

I honestly don't like it. It's similar to the DA2 Cover: absolutely lazy.
This is gonna be the final game in the trilogy. Expectations are high![]()

I'd have put two squadmates on there, but at this point, the only guaranteed ones are Liara and some new guy(s).
I mean unless you want to choose between Ashley or Kaiden on there.
