mmm, i remember a friend of mine mentioning about that Game a couple of years ago, he said that i had to try it out or something, but i.... just forgot.

Is it really that good?
i think i saw it on Steam somewhere, so this would be a good time to try it.

For storytelling and and being an adventure game, it is one of the best. It is, for me anyway, one of thsoe games that could have been really incredible, but lost its way in the gaming mechanics. If you can handle a long narrative with very long engaging, but rich and deep conversations that produce an incredible story, I would say this may be one of the best to get. For me, that expereience was taken down by some of one the most awful combat systems I have ever seen along with a seriously simplistic stealth system. Alpha Protocol felt nearly the exact same way to me as this game did. My opinion of course.

And yes, I would also like to see a direct style sequel to DA:O, personally.

Also:

KoTOR 2 in the style of KoTOR (not like the Sith Lords)
Vampire: The Masquerade
Mirror's Edge
Planescape
Amnesia: The Dark Descent

I'd love to see a remake of Carmageddon, can't get the damn thing to run with dos box.
DAO with DA2 combat would be sweet.

If you mean The Sith Lords, I completely disagree, but that is my opinion. While the role playing seemed to be expanded and I loved the influence system, the story was near broken about half-way through the game, making anything relevant to the story unenjoyable. There have been a few mods released to fix the story issue, but having tried it playing through it twice, I gave up on it, whereas I enjoyed KoTOR through numerous runs. KoTOR was the superior game for role playing and story combination quality, hands down. KoTOR2 had about a year or more of dev time and a lot was cut out (confirmed by Chris Avellone). The combat animations were nicer looking, but the system was somewhat broken and fixed mainly by modders.

You can thank Lucasarts for pushing the fast dev time to get it out for the holiday 2004.

...KOTOR2 is better than KOTOR1? Is that an attempt at humor?

Unless, of course, by "better" you actually mean "inferior in every way." In that case, you're absolutely right.

Maybe with the mods that fixed and restored everything. Unfortunately I only played the original Xbox version of KOTOR 2.

But KOTOR 1 does get some extra points for being the first of a franchise.

Two come to mind.
1. Legacy of Kain
2. Vampire:The Masquerade(Pre-Requiem because Requiem just destroyed all the great clans)

LOL. The game is so utterly rushed and piecemeal that I can't possibly take a statement proclaiming it to be better than KOTOR1 seriously.

Granted, it's not really Obsidian's fault - LucasArts are the ones who screwed it up by trying to push the game out before it could be completed. But that's beside the point - a half-baked game is a half-baked game, and it couldn't possibly stand against the far more polished KOTOR1 in its final form.

Yes it can. Vanilla Kotor 2 while rushed and missing content is better than Kotor 1 imo. There was anything special about Kotor 1 except that it was Star Wars. Obsidian gave it the great story and amazing characters. The influence system while fun also let us learn even more about our companions then we ever did in Kotor 1. The amount of content that Obsidian was able to put in is something.

KotOR 1 is better if your a big fan of Star Wars, because It's more Star Wars-y (It's a more polished game too).

But Sith Lords has the better writing (plot/characters/dialogs), lengthier game, more content, better voice-acting, better choices and consequences..

- KotOR3 by Obsidian: yes I preferred KotOR2, it was amazing and it had Kreia.
- Alpha Protocol 2.
- Vampire the Masquerade something: since Troika si dead - sigh - I'd love to see Obsidian or CD Project RED work on it.
- Alan Wake 2: I mean a real sequel, not American Nightmare.
- Indiana Jones doing something awesome - the Adventure Game.

Just got in mind of one i'll add in. a sequel to PS1 classics Medievil 1/2

multiplatform this time though. PC/Next Gen Consoles, or the old 360/PS3 (if there still around at that time, that is)

Baldur's Gate, Alpha Protocol and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines: for the last one I would even be happy of a spiritual successor not necessarly settled in the WoD.
