Could be fun for a non Shepard game. Lots of stuff you can do with it. But not yet.

I'm less familliar with shooters, Mass Effect is the most I usually play (maybe Borderlands has more Shooter elements than ME... anyway, I'm out of this COD/GeoW Stuff)... but it seems faster and more dynamic so I'm forgiving as long as there is some great RPG elements. and NO KINECT.

Learn how to spell. That's impossible to be a typo.
Please don't personally insult people if you disagree with their opinion, you might get into trouble if you go to far.

It'll probably have contribute to the universal cooldown, like the other powers, except that you can't access it via quick pause/hotkeys like the other powers, if you know what I mean.Shepard Lives wrote...

I do not like that a single ("special") melee attack can kill an enemy. That's just weird.
Why? If you snap someone's neck or run them through with a knife, do they not die? At least, are they not incapacitated in a severe way and thus unable to continue combat?
I'm sure there'll be some feature that prevents the instakill melee from being a game-breaker. Doesn't the article say Shepard needs to "charge up" the attack for a while?

Also, I have a bad feeling that the Krogan princess is the daughter of Weyrloc Guld (the only Krogan we know who has a daughter).

But seriously, why did they tell you in ME2 that Guld has a daughter? This must be it!

Adepts should somehow rip their enemies apart with like dual singularities or something of that like. That would be awesome.

Mass Effect 3 plays like a shooter.
We Where Warned.
So because bioware has made the core gameplay (which has been third person shooter for all ME games) suddenly they've changed markets? The other IGN article talks about how the RPG features and choices have been refined but i'm guessing you didn't read that. The developers have been going on about how they're improving the RPG-ness for this game, but the game is also a shooter. Why shouldn't bioware make that aspect as good as they can as well?
Well both games had shooter elemets, and i have no problem with shooter in general, but Unfortuantly what that Article seems to suggest is that Mass Effect combat equals that of generic third person shooter in space, meaning that all unique features that were in the first game are going to be removed. (if they weren't allready.)
Let's take a small thing from the first game that was removed in the seconds game in order to make the game more recognisable to shooter gamers:
All the codex says weapons are miniature rail guns, that mass accelerate slugs to the speed of light, this was seen in game as bullets instantly hit their target and showing this sci-fi blueish trail to let you know where your bullet went. i thought this was a cool and unique feature, and then in Mass Effect 2 the majority of the weapons seem to have visable shot patterns.
See what i mean, i fear that Mass Effect 3 will be like a the standard modern third person shooter, but in a Sci-fi shell.
The shooting elements are the core gameplay - it needs to be as good as they can make it. And the guns still instantly hit their targets in ME2 - the visible shot patterns are tracers, and don't occur with every shot. There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago and a dev posted in it that in ME2 the 'bullets' still hit instantly.
All the article has said is that the shooter gameplay is better than it was in ME1 and ME2. It doesn't state that anything has been lost from ME1 - based on what the devs have been saying, ME3 will actually be bringing back some of the features like RPG stuff and customisation.
Also, if you haven't yet read the other IGN article it makes the game seem like so much more than a generic shooter. Talking about how the choices really impact the story, and the scale of the galactic war.
The basic shooter gameplay should be equal to modern third person shooters because thats what the gameplay of ME is at its core. Its the stuff around it - the story, the conversations, the characters, the RPG features, the music - that elevate it above these 'generic' games, but the core gameplay should be the same because that means that the core gameplay is good. If ME3 can have gameplay as smooth as, say, Gears of War then it'll be fantastic. Obviously it needs all the other stuff that makes Mass Effect games so good, but the sore shooter gameplay has been the only thing that has let this series down so far, in my opinion at least.
I don't think you have anything to fear. Just because the central shooter gameplay is really good in no way indicates that any other parts of the game will suffer. In fact, the shooting elements are generally where Bioware have stumbled and if they've got that right, as the preview seems to indicate, then that means all the stuff Bioware is really good at - characters, story, atmosphere - is going to be fantastic.

LAME ALERT: Omni-blade confirmed and therefore kinect confirmed. Both disappointing.
Get a life. Kinect won't change your ME3 experience and Omni-Tool blade sounds fun, especially in comparison to some of Cerberus's assasins who will carry Katanas.

Finally if you ask me! Mass Effect has been easy for too long!
Die! =DD
I´ve got nothing against ME3 getting proper Shooter Mechanics, but it should still be playable by the not-so-hardcore- shooter-gamers...
Nevertheless, sounds good! Can´t wait for the demos/E3!!!
