I'm alright with the omni-blade. I just want to know what the Vanguards have at their disposal.

Also, according to IGN, the princess is "crazy hot". I don't know what to think of this.

I really hope its sarcasm. We'll find out on Monday.

If I'm guessing right I want to also hear the phrase "use your head" accomapnying it.

I'm thinking there's an unspoken "for a krogan" in there somewhere.

Or maybe she's running a fever?

Or maybe the auther just has a frogbat turtle fetish.

Within reason sure, I can get behind that.  The idea of taking plastics and rearranging the molecules into a new form, kinda makes sense, (I'm sure it'd be way more complicated than that of course), I can understand the idea of making the shell and inner workings of say a gun, but you'd still need Element Zero for the Mass Accelerator part.  I dunno, I'm sure that in-game the blades would work just fine, but if it was used in real life I'm sure the guy in Combat Armour would stand there laughing.

Plastics and polymers. It's much different. And read my edit.

If the "tech blade" or whatever turns out to be simply a blade that pops out of Shepard's bracers or omnitool when making an attack, that's cool.  I heartily approve.  If an omnitool can have a flamethrower or a freeze ray in it, why not a bayonet?  But it's the description that the blade resembles the Sentinel's tech armor that has me worried.  Now we're turning mass effect fields into cutting implements?

What else can it possibly be.

You're using a game that breaks parts of the lore the first game introduced to support other items that don't coincide with the lore?

Right.
ME2's lore is as much part of the canon as ME1's is. I think it's time to start accepting it. Also, lore retcons? Try harder. I won't start a discussion on the supposed retcons that ME2 had, because I am sure that changing the topic will appear very helpful to some people.

Let's skip all info from ME2.
How are the haptic interfaces displayed? How does the flashlight the C-Sec rescue officer work? How do omni-tools transfer information? Magic?

There are either a) Physical components of an omni-tool, B) ME1 is the biggest lore retcon-ner in the past decade. :D

If physical components do exist, then so does everything else from ME2, because all they require are more physical components. Combat drones are part of the lore, whether you want it or not.

I also love how an off the hand comment is so readily met with a brusque manner as you've demonstrated.  Iakus said nothing to you, but you went on the offensive.  I think you need to cool down.

Let me get to the part where he didn't start complaining already. Nevermind.

My tone is nothing close to aggresive, it's sarcastic. A very well justified sarcasm when these boards are filled by the same complaints and obssesive pessimism, for well over a year.

Don't do the same with ME3.

Okay, shooting and punching have been improved...
But that doesn't tell me anything about techs and biotics.

Yes, develop the shooter elements, they can always use work, BioWare. BUT... I'm sure plenty of us want to hear about powers... and there are plenty of people who want to hear good news about biotics, particularly!

So... this may be good news... it's a good thing that they've tried to make it so you're not forced to be stuck in cover the whole damn time otherwise you're insta-shredded due to your paper-armor-that-does-nothing-but-hold-a-shield-battery... I like that... I take whatever opportunity I can to run out and mix things up in both games (no surprise Vanguard's my favorite class, eh?)...
But this good news means little to me.

Mass Effect is not a Pure Shooter series - it's just part shooter, no matter what proportion that part is. I want to hear things that support that fact.

I'm pretty sure it is a shooter series.

So do I.

I don't want to see a humanized female Krogan. We already have the Asari and the Quarians for that.

I said Shooter in italics with a capital S.
I suppose it would've been better to say 'pure shooter'.

I don't know why I did that.

Edit: I have modified my initial post.

I'm betting we will, since we seem to be visiting a bunch of homeworlds/seats of power this game.

Krogan Princess being "scary hot" better be sarcasm.

Or maybe the emphasis is on "scary".

Yeah, that's probably it. That wily Bioware.

Omnitools obviously do have physical components and a manufactory unit, but as far as I know (I think it's explained in the codex), these components are located in the armor and sometimes with implants in the hands/fingers for easy manipulation of the haptic interface (as by the h.i. codex entry). The gripe comes with the fact that the visible "orange glow" is percieved as a projected interface, much like a computer screen is the part of a computer that you visually interact with, but is not the actual computer itself. Not much of a stretch to believe that it wouldn't have enough "physicality" to be a blade. Basically waving an hologram in your face.

I wasn't going to respond, but I just have to say one thing.

I pointed out two things.  One, the first, I should l point out, was something l liked.  Grenades are back!  Woohoo!  I hope they're moddable!  The second, the tech/psionic/whatever blades, I'm not so happy about.  The description the article gave, which I freely admit may not be totally accurate, made them sound like Mass Effect-y lightsabers. Not so wild about that.  Personally I think that makes it as much a complaint as being happy about grenades was praise, but I suppose YMMV.

Now I'll back out of this thread for a bit 'cause my presence clearly upsets you.

Yep, looks like it's another organised predictable plot, Bioware style. Bioware really needs to get some new writers.

I'm really hoping not.  What I'm hoping for is that liberating Earth is just one of the things you do on the way to the larger objective, you know, stopping the bloomin' Reapers.

Otherwise whats the point?  Woop! We've freed earth and defeated the ten Reapers that were attacking it! Now what the hell are we supposed to do about the hundred Reapers that are coming to replace them?

But according to this guy...it sure looks this is what's going to happen...and let's face it it does make sense but it also does feel too bland of a story...too predictable...too linear...let's hope you can do alot of meaningful missions before getting there...hope really hard...

Probably what you do on earth at the end will impact all reapers in all the galaxy...let's face it they're gonna find a way to shut them all down and Im guessing theat's gonna happen on earth...my guess of course

Good to see grenades implemented. Wonder if we still have to bring heavy weapons or if it's a choice between the two

It sounds like Gears of War.
