How can the player be half-elf, half human, and half Bhaal? Shouldn't the selectable race be "Third-Elf"?
Just thought of something (spoilers)

If <charname> is half-Elf, his/her mother is the Elf. So Bhaal must've conceived <charname> in human form.

Since he operated by "whispering in the mother's ear", according to PC's murderous mama in ToB, who knows what form he was in. Presumably only the mother's race counted!

I think Morbidest has it, Yaga-Shura was all fire giant and Sendai all drow; it was only the Bhaalspawn "essence" (whatever that was...) that Bhaal contributed.
