This is quite an awesome addition!

''- If Bethany or Carver rejoin the party near the end of the game, they now learn the Force Mage and Templar specializations, respectively. Existing save games from after the Deep Roads Expedition will not receive the benefit of this fix.''

Legacy however does enable it, it's what made me look up the patch notes just now when I was about to level up Carver...

However my Carver is a... well my carver has nothing to with Templars so to speak, kind of odd he suddenly gets Templar powers but whatever :P

Couple of hiccups I noticed during my latest playthrough...

1. At the start of the High Dragon fight, Isabella became completely unresponsive. The rest of the companions were fine, but Isa was completely locked up - couldn't move, act, anything... Only when the Dragon came down and knocked her off her feet did she seem to "wake up" again. Normally it wouldn't matter so much, but that's not a fight you want people sitting on the sidelines for...

2. And along the same lines, I notice that every once in a while companions need a little manual "encouragement" to either get in the fight, or get back into a fight where they suddenly stop and.. take in the view?

3. I also noticed an oddity with Templar-Carver in the final battle with Merideth. During the actual fight his hair turned white (my PC had white hair, picking up from that?). Not gamebreaking obviously, but... odd.

My Varric did that. Lazy dwarf. Aveline was right about him, he doesn't actually do anything. Didn't even take a health poultice when I told him to and got us all killed.:(

Just confirming I experienced this as well. Like you said, not a gamebreaker, but it was definitely weird.

I've currently got someone in contact with our programming department who has this same issue. Hopefully it will be resolved quickly. If we need any additional information I'll be sure to contact you directly.

Any news about this?
Any news about this, part 2?

I also have this problem and that 5 star Bioware demo thread really is there http://social.biowar...dex/6150178/10.

I got this in my very first, totally unpatched game.

I've seen it happen with other characters as well, not just Carver. I guess it's been around longer than 1.3 though. Not exactly high-priority in getting it fixed... just kind of distracting is all.

The aveline bug seems not to be solved. During the final battle she continues to attack Meredith even when she is supposed to be stunned. I did the Legacy DLC so during the final battle my Merril has a ring that prevents her from being stunned. The resoult: it is the same for her, she continues to attack no matter what.

[edit] A positive bug :)

- If Bethany or Carver rejoin the party near the end of the game, they
now learn the Force Mage and Templar specializations, respectively. Existing save games from after the Deep Roads Expedition will not receive the benefit of this fix.

My bethany learnt the force mage specialization at the end of the game even if I had reloaded a save after the deep roads. This is what happened:

I loaded a save where my party was at the Hanged Man right before the beginning of "The Last Straw" quest. I started Legacy from there and I didn't bring Bethany with me. After that I went on and started The Last Straw. Bethany rejoined my party and she had the force mage specialization available.

Is it possible to at last get that patch or unofficial fix?

Is it a bug or intentional that the Anders companion quest Tevinter Chantry amulet can only be done in Act 2? I got the amulet but i didn't do the quest in Act 2 sadly, it's on my Journal but it seems you can't give it to Anders. Intentional or bug?

In my latest playthrough, I have killed the demon on sundermount. This time I decided to kill all the rest of the elves. Merril's companion quest will not finish. It let me give her the sylvanwood ring. But that is all. She is not a romanced companion and I do have the Legacy DLC. But I had this same problem on my first playthrough with the first patch.

I have just finished Merill's companion quest, A new path, in Act 3 and have experienced something similar as Dead Reckoning. However, I did not kill all the elves at the end of the quest, I chose the option 'I take responsibility.' In Act 2 (I think?) also on Sundermount, I found the gift for her, the Sylvanwood Ring. So this is a not problem - in my game at least.

I have sort of the same problem, I think as Dead Reckoning has.  I have been to the mountain top, to Sundermount. I have killed the demon that was inside the keeper (choosing the upper dialogue option not the 'you said you had to die' e.g. the lower option). I sadly also killed the keeper. When I talked to Merril after this, I chose the option 'she loved you'. This gave me 15+ rivalry adding to the 15+ rivalry when I talked to her before the Sundermount expedition. I told her to go see the keeper, she refused. And this gave me, as said, rivalry +15 with her.  The rivalry line is now about half way to full rivalry. (please add numbers in DA3 to the friend/rivalry system - this will help me and other colourblind people a great deal...) During my extensive researh on this topic, I found that (sometimes?) this quest will not trigger if her friend/rivalry
is not hight enough. Could this be the problem?

After the quest a new path, her other companion quest in act 'questioning beliefs' is triggered. It says in my journal to talk to her in her house. However, when I do this. No, quest icon is added. Nada. Zilch. nothing. I have tried removing her form the party, going to the Hanged Man, changing removing her from the party, going to her house, adding her to the party in house. Again - no quest icon appears over her head. I've also been to the black emporium. No chance.

I've also done some extensive research, and it seems that this quest will only trigger after a certain main quest (best served cold?). Is this true....?

So in short, is this a bug, a glitch, or a feature?

Bonus info:

Before doing this quest, I did Varric's Quest (the one with the haunted house, and the very odd noises).
Before Varric's quest, I did Avelein's act 3 quest (or was it after). Anyway I did those quest before doing Merril's quest.
Hopefully, this shouldn't be a problem?

Bonus info 2:

Before soing Merrill's quest in Act (and the other companions' quest in Act 3), I did Legacy - but without Merrill. This shouldn't be an issue either in terms of her quest icon not showing up, I hope... But you'll never know...

Has the issue where Nathaniel's quest won't appear if he was left to defend Vigil's Keep in Awakening been fixed with this patch?

For the most part this game works fine I just think I have a performance issue.  It use to work fine after some of the NVIDIA and 1.03 updates but now when I went to play it aagain a month later  I can't get 55-60 fps like I use to.  I have a gtx560Ti w\\2GB VRam a phenom II X4 955 Black edition with 8gb ddr2 (800mhz).  I have played this game on 1920X1080 resolution with direct x 11 and all highest settings.  Is there anyone that has about the same specs as me that can run this on the same settings with real good fps(I get 22-30 now)?  Just wanna make sure I wasn't dreaming.  Wokrs fine on DX9 though.

When I download patch 1.03 and try to intall it I receive an error message that the game is not installed. However the game is installed and runs fine as a version 1.02 ...

Is there any way to indicate the proper game folder for patch 1.03 file?

Are there any plans on a 1.04 patch? Or is the focus solely on DLC from here on out?

Has anyone encountered the bug that when you first encounter Meeran or Athenril in Act 1, the conversations keep on repeating even if you say goodbye? Like srsly, I can't start Act 2 if the conversations of Meeran and Athenril repeat forever, forcing me to Alt+F4.

The Mabari Hound could stop disappearing every time you enter some new place. It´s really annoying having to summon him again every time. He should stay until you decide he should go, or is knocked back by an enemy.
