The new patch v1.03 freezes during screen loads. The spining Dragon Age symbol is on the right side of the screen. You cannot save, load or exit the game. However, you can move around and do things in the game. The freeze can last for minutes or longer. Please Help!

I've started a new game with 1.03 and just lost around 2 hours worth of game progress after it crashed.

When I started it back up it the quick and auto saves were from the time previous to the last play session - very annoying!

Don't know if this was caused by the patch or was just a random glitch.

You're talking about the 4 different save files I used just now or start over Origins again? The 2nd ain't gonna happen.

Start a new game in DA2 and import your save.
Also it didn't fix everything for me; though that could very well be due to the mods I had installed in DA:O at the time. This mod fixed things more for me.

Mind you, some things will always be broken though; for example anyone you left behind in Vigil's Keep in Awakening's endgame will be considered dead. That's a bug in DA:O's export and can't be fixed in DA2.

Ah, that's why Nathaniel quest doesn't appear even now then. He was at the Keep. Well, I have then just one save from Origins that is good for import purposes.

So I have no hope with the Zevran romance too right? I heard in the other thread that the problem with the romance flags started with the import in Awakening...
I tried to complete Zevran quest after the patch, and nothing changed. No different dialogues, the Warden wasn't even recognized dead like when I use the mod.

I wouldn't want to start again a game and reach Act 3 and see that nothing changes again....
I would like to know if someone tried it.

The game still crushes during cutscene after killing Desire Demon in Sebastian's Act 2 quest.

Any chance to fix this soon?

Thank you.

I know that I'm repeating myself again here, but I'm going to highlight this issue again, especially since I fail to recall seeing an official response that this is even a problem. I've tried repeatedly since installing patch 1.03 to get into the Harimann estate, and was only successful once- only to have the game crash back to my desktop right after the very first cutscene with Flora.

So, again- after waiting for 3 patches, and several weeks, when will this be addressed, if at all?

This is my big problem too, and I also have never seen it acknowledged as an issue by anyone official here. Yet there's a whole thread about it, and it's definitely not just two or three people experiencing this. There are definite crash triggers (the Flora cutscene, the area transitions), and there's no problem with the rest of the game on my computer in that respect. I mean, should I even bother waiting another month to get past Act 2 in the game I preordered, which I did so specifically to have the DLC included? :(

Dog doesn't seem to stick with the group too much when exploring, he kind of just sits there until we are out of range and then starts moving. He also freezes for a little while before actually attacking enemies.

Still in Act I, but figured I'd post other bugs I've run across: Sound is not synced; battle is choppy. I've noticed that now the combat noise is too low (sorry, haven't found that 'happy medium' yet!). The dog still doesn't stay with the group nor attacks every time (although he is more often than before). I'm also wondering why I can't locate the pup on the map? During the quest for Flemeth's amulet, the rockslide at Sundermont convo doesn't fire when you click on it.

I know I've said it earlier, but I'll say it again, because it's happening every time: the first lines of convos with companions are not firing. I end up at the dialogue wheel.

I always play on hard difficulty and have noticed that with the changes  to the spells and skills it has become much easier,  especially with the DLC items that level up with you.  Looks like i will have to try nightmare,  i like a challenge:devil:.

Managed to get through the "Repentance" quest due to retries and voodoo, so I was able to play on through the beginning of Act 3 with the patch in. Still getting the issue with 1.03 installed of first lines of companion conversation always not firing, and occasionally first lines/actions of cutscenes not showing up. I also now sometimes have to rapidly double-click on a companion to get them to talk while walking around with them, when I only had to one-click before (always had to do this in the Hawke manor with the interactable items in the house, though.) That seems to be it now for me, which is quite nice actually! So, thank you :)

Yeah... I might even add that before patch 1.03, he always followed me (even attacked enemies ahead sometimes), but after the patch, I noticed Dog sometimes stays idle (like during a Dragon fight)...

Well, unfortunately I have to say this patch is a HUGE disappointment. Image IPB

From all I have read and was keeping up with on the forums concerning this patch, there seemed to be (finally) hope of being able to launch and play this game finally. Alas, still getting the stupid PhysX error and not being able to launch the game. This means I am still waiting, after 2 months of purchase (sig ed), of being able to play.
Yes, I have tried anything and everything I could find on this. I have just recently (just a couple of days ago) had to re-format and install fresh everything. Yes, this means a fresh install of DA2, latest patch, OS, latest Vid drivers, Latest sound drivers and latest PhysX.

Is there any hope of playing this game or did I waste $90?

Help me out here Bioware, I have spent tons of $$ on your games (especially on DAO). Bioware has a reputation of producing excellent stable games, but that is quickly disappearing. Image IPB

I have the bug where the enemy gets down to a sliver of health and takes loads of damage but doesn't die (eventually the enemy does die) plus i also seem to be having plenty of pauses as i am running around, in Act 1 alone i counted 16 before i got bored with keeping score. Anyone else noticed the pause whilst running it seems totally random, hope Act 2 has less of them.

Wait wait? Bioware never had a rep of making stable games, Baldur's gate 2 is still filled with bugs..

Have you ever made a thread in this tech support forum? Who know what advice you would get.

I'll be gathering up the remaining people who are having issues tomorrow (feel free to PM me today) and working directly with them to fix their crash or launcher error issues.

As for the enemies having 0 HP and still being alive, there is an issue in this patch where enemies spawning in to the map (such as corpse or shades or have entrance animations) are 'showing' that they are taking damage when they are not. Either just keep pounding on them till they die or wait a few seconds when they are doing their entrance animation before you engage. We'll work on fixing this when we can.

Read earlier some people hadn't encountered varric's friendly concern, yet.. for me it worked properly with Isabela romance.. got the quest after "All that remains" having completed all other quests available before that one with Varric at maybe 75% Friendship and Isabela at maybe 75% Rivalry but think that's irrelevant.

Been an enjoyable playthrough since the patch released : ) noticed that hp thing with the enemies myself but seems to me if I "kill" them before they arrive then they'll stand still for a few seconds then just collapse.. don't think I've had to further assault someone with 0 HP

I've still been unsuccessful in trying to complete the "Repentance" quest with my newest character. 90+% of the time I crash to my desktop whenever I try and enter. Twice I've gotten inside, only to crash right after the second cutscene. But probably my most irritating (or amusing, if you have a sense of humor) attempt is when I got all the way past the final battle, back upstairs, completed the final conversation with Flora, and crashed back to my desktop as I was trying to load out of the estate back to Hightown.

I just installed the patch, it's fine for me so far in hard/nightmare. Kinda like hard/nightmare is easier now.

I don't think so...I was able to load up the console and run the script that lists everything from Origins/Awakening that was imported into DA2.  Haven't tried any others.

Still having the issue with barrels in the fade--they either don't move, or move into the floor, walls, or other barrels. Minor I know compared to the guys who can't get it to run, but (hopefully) worth mentioning.

I read in the PS3 and X360 patch threads that people are still having trouble getting the Zevran romance to fire in 1.03. After patching I loaded up my unfinished Act 1 save that imported from a DA:O save where my Warden had romanced Zevran. When I examined the save with the debug console, I noticed that there are two places where the Zevran romance is checked.

The first occurrence said that the warden had not been in a relationship with Zervan, but the second check done at the end of the long list of plot flag DID acknowledge the relationship. I'm not sure if DA2 pulls off one or both flags, but if it's pulling from the first one, that might explain why it's still not working.

I'm not going to play all the way through to Act 3 in an attempt to "get lucky" and hope my save file works when the flag doesn't seem to be working on PS3 and X360 don't.

Note: Other import issues that had previously been wrong with the save (my save used to say Nathaniel was dead, but post-patch 1.03 it's been corrected to save he's alive) seem to be fixed.

It's definitely voodoo for me, though I've only tried with the one character so far, since I haven't finished the game yet. I got through "Repentance" perfectly one time after installing the 1.03 patch, so I confidently went into in Act 3 and am now trying to complete "Faith". Yep, crash to desktop again in the cutscene after the fight, once in the middle of talking to "Sister Nightingale" and the second time at the very beginning of the cutscene. I give up for tonight :(

Does anyone know what is happening with Varric's "Friendly Concern?" I have the 1.03 patch and started a completely new game. I am almost completely through with Act 2 (All That Remains, Following the Qun, To Catch A Thief and then Demands of the Qun are left). Still no talk with Varric regarding my relationship with Fenris. I thought this was one of the items fixed in this patch.

I think Bioware deserves to be told that they really fixed lots of things with this patch, and, so far, I am pleased with it. I just started a new playthrough and everything works perfectly and smoothly using DX 11 render. The only thing I must point out is the bug about the missing key on Darius Manor. It did not happen to me the first time I played the game (without patches) but it happened to me this time several times. After 4 tries I managed to loot the Rage Demon. Maybe you should take a look at it, because it seems, from what I've read, that this problem was already existing since the launch of the game.

How long would "Excuting RCCleanup.exe" usually take?
I've just downloaded it and tried to apply 1.03 patch, and the progress is stucking there for about 10 minutes.
Would it ruin my installation if I stop the task forcely?
