If there's one thing the adventures of the USS Enterprise taught me...

It's how to kill machines.

After reading the IGN article which states we go to the Salarian homeworld to save a Krogan princess, I think I have worked out how to beat the Reapers.

Jump on top of a Reaper to kill it and drive it out of its shell. Jump on top of it again to send the empty shell crashing into the rest of the Reaper fleet.

Thank you Mario Shepard.
Your quest is over.

Alright. So we know from the codex that person-sized kinetic barriers only activate when presented with on oncoming force whether it be a bullet or a melee attack. Otherwise they are inactive because, as the codex put it, a soldier would knock aside their chair before they could sit down.

In all the codex entries I haven't seen a specific description of how ship shields work. By that I mean I haven't seen anything to counter my assumption that they work the same way as personal shields (ie inactive until it senses a threat). My whole theory revolves around this assumption. Along with one other regarding the Geth's trustworthyness.

So this is what I'd do. The geth can think at the speed of light. They can make decisions, I would assume, at about the same speed. So here's how I would deploy them: their warships would be running distraction against the Reapers by making very short, very brutal FTL jumps all around one. Every time a geth ship would stop, it would fire its weapon in a precalculated trajectory. This would be done to ensure that the Reaper's main guns were focused on them and not on the dropship crewed with Geth mobile platforms.

This dropship, specially equipped, would get in close to a reaper and, coordinating with warships, would pick it's moment to slowly drift up against the reaper hull.

Once inside the Reaper's shields this dropship would either cut its way into the Reaper or board through more traditional means. The mobile platforms inside would then fight their way to the Mass Effect Core and destroy it, ala Reaper IFF mission.

This would bring down the Reaper's shields and possibly a whole lot else and would allow the warships to destroy the Reaper.

Extraction is not a factor as the Geth can just upload themselves wirelessly onto the warships leaving behind only shells.

Using geth to achieve this would avoid the threat of indoctrination as we know it to be AS LONG AS the geth platforms are like Legion and self sufficient entities. With deactivated wireless communications and without a means for the reapers to upload anything these geth platforms should be immune from outside influence.

THIS. SENTENCE. IS. FALSE.

*don't think about it, don't think about it, don't think about it*

Um, true, I think I'm gonna go with true.

It's a paradox, there is no answer!

Um false.

I wonder if the Reapers have a core swap feature... and a stalemate button... would make things so much easier.

there are several options: a giant can of bugspray, find the brainbug and kill it, get Kevin Costner for their production, bouncer at the entrance with a guest list and of course a kick in the balls.
take your pick.

I will say, Halo: Reach had some pretty cutscenes.

On a related note, a cutscene will kill off a Reaper no problem.

We've already had some far more powerful suggestions - someone else suggested the Imperium, and I suggested the Culture, which have fighters that can waste entire solar systems.

Makes you wonder, when Bioware made the Reapers they made them seem indestructible. A whole Alliance fleet was used to destroy one(and in Navy terms, a fleet is A LOT!) so Bioware had to know this was coming, so they probably made some weaknesses that they don't give hints to. Unless they went ahead of themselves and they just figured out "Oh crap, uh how exactly are we gonna do this.". But knowing the genius that is Bioware they know what their doing.

And then after Mr. Toots has eliminated the Reaper threat he can help keep the Krogan in line. They will quake at the sight of unicorn hiney.
