Do you think I'll be able to reach lvl 60 by endgame?

Hey, just wanted to ask a (hopefully) quick question.

So far, all I have left is Feros, Llos, Virmire, and endgame. I've completed almost all of the assignments I've found (I think i'm at 37 completed. I'm almost done the turian colony and league of one quests).

Is it possible, if I'm at level 53 (near 54) to reach level 60 by the end of the game? Just so that I can get the best bonus for importing to ME2.

Thanks alot for any help, I'd love to hear what you guys think.

Also..../off topic

I used the Lorik assignment (Noveria) to max out my renegade and paragon...before I found out that it could corrupt my savegame file. What are the chances that this happens, and what's the severity of it? Last thing I want is to get to level 60 and have it not transfer >.>. Or at least any of my major decisions. Thanks for any of your thoughts.

A level 60 carry over isn't really as needed anymore, if you have the dlc's they add a substantial amout of credits.

Importing a level 1 through level 49 character will grant 1,000 XP (the player starts at level 2), 20,000 credits, and 2,500 of each resource.

Importing a level 50 through level 59 character will grant 2,000 XP (the player starts at level 3), 30,000 credits, and 5,000 of each resource.

Importing a level 60 character will grant 4,000 XP (the player starts at level 5), 50,000 credits, and 10,000 of each resource.

Having the "Rich" achievement from Mass Effect will grant an additional 100,000 credits.
The import bonuses will stack with the Mass Effect 2 completion starting bonuses (200,000 credits and 50,000 of each resource). (from the wiki)

I don't know if you'll make it or not. Those last few levels have a pretty high experience requirement. If you're trying to make it one playthrough the answer is a resounding no. Unless you use the console on pc or one of the xp glitches (very tedious, for the results.)

Sorry, but no way...the numbers count between 59 and 60 is huge...even not using the Mako at every opportunity won't get you there....it takes at the least two play through's and that is getting out of the Mako and fighting on foot at every given opportunity, where there's no environmental hazard of course.

I have never heard of the Lorik Qui'in assignment bugging out the game, I'm sorry I don't know about that one....though I have never had a problem myself with it and transfer with ease.

Ahh, alright thanks. It's my second playthrough, if it makes a difference, and I've already altered the xp scale for the mako by making it 1.0.

Alright, that's good then. As long as all the main stuff transfers over I'll be fine.

It's also on hardcore, the difficulty I'm playing on. I think there's a difficulty modifier for the xp scale, not sure though.

Thanks for the replies, glad to see 'em come in so quick.

On a clean, starting at level 1 playthrough, doing all the side quests, killing stuff outside the Mako, and the dlc, you can get to high 57 or low 58. It will take a second playthrough to hit 60.

Going from 57 to 60 takes 400,000 experience points. It takes 462,100 to get to 57. The second playthrough will yield higher xp per kill, and the like due to you being higher level.

^^exactly, the mako really does eat up all your XP tho, killing enemies on foot is a great way to max out XP input.

on the subject of lorik bug causing save file corruption? ive never heard of it causing any problems, you are talking about the glitch where you constantly ask him "id like to ask another question". then tell him to testify again, rinse repeat?

Yeah that's what I'm talking about ^^, concerning the lorik glitch. Found out by accident haha, shoulda seen the look on my face : ).

Oh my god, it takes 400,000 to go from 57 to 60? Jesus Chr--.

I scaled up the mako xp modifier so that there's no detraction of experience from killing inside the mako, if that makes a difference. Anyone know of a website that gives a good count of xp per plant? Not that it matters really.

For anyone who cares, here's the link as to how to change the xp modifier while inside the Mako: http://masseffect.wi.../wiki/PC_Tweaks

It's the very last one, so scroll all the way down the page and then scroll up and you'll find it. Takes ten seconds, and makes things go a lot quicker.

You need almost 900'000 experience to hit 60.

It can only be done in two playthroughs.
I personally see no point in straining exp by getting out of the Mako... I hit Level 60 no matter what in the second run, so it makes no difference.

I get out of the Mako on Insanity mode to fight mercs (once they pop immunity, the cannon does nothing... but it is hilarious to blast them around nonetheless).
That's it. Not for exp... but because the Mako is weak as hell at offense in Insanity.

I believe you need the two exp boosting achievements in order to get to level 60 in two playthroughs.

Okay, this is probably a really dumb question, but what are they?

There are actually three, completionist, power gamer, and extreme power gamer.

A lot of questions of this variety are easily answered by checking the wiki.

Don't worry about that too much. I don't have them, except for completionist, and I get to 60 in 2 playthroughs no problem.

Isn't extreme power gamer pretty much a mute point, until you've already got a level 60 already.

Does ME2 care if you used the console to get to 60 in ME1?

Only if you don't play again.  I have somewhere on the order of 30 playthroughs between the 360 and pc.

I don't think ME2 cares whether you used the console or not, it just looks at the end game save.

On this note, is it possible to do more than 2 playthroughs with the same character if you do not reach level 60 by your second one?

Yep, it's possible.  You can even use that method to max out your charm/intimidate by using the free points gained from your paragon/renegade score and spectre promotion.  It takes 3 playthroughs with the same character to do it that way.

Yess... I've get this situation because of using Mako too much and was almost halfway to 60 lvl in the end of 2nd game:P
I honestly expected Kaidan and Joker to turn around and shout "It's you again?!". Oh, and 59 lvl Jenkins was good, too. I've even specialized him and gave spare Colossus :P

IIRC you only get xp the first time through. It's not an infinite xp mode.
