Hey there,

I wanted to add a custom sound, a song which is being played during a cutscene (similar to Leliana's Song) into my modification. I've looked through the internet though and searched this forum, but there doesn't seem to be a proper tutorial on how to do this yet. There is one for the Baldurs Gate Redux Mod but it explains how to replace sounds rather than just adding a new one.

Can anyone help me out there? The song is very, very crucial to my projects success. :(

Edit: My mod is an extension to the Singler Player Campaign. :)

Kind regards,

Nick

Actually the tutorial you are talking about explains how to add new sounds and music... not just replace. You can create a new music sound bank that is added to the core soundbanks... or even create a whole new name instance and call it from a cutscene.

The Djinni Prison music is called and used in such a way. I created a new fdp for ambients and threw in a few cutscene sounds and the flutey song music. Send me a PM and I will arrange to get you the FDP for bgr_amb_glo to look at. Later I will try to put up both the music and ambient fdp's for everyone to see.

Okay, I did one better. I uploaded all three FDP's in a zip to our project page files. Feel free to use them however you like. You wont be able to build them as-is since you dont have the sound files however.

I've included the following:
bgr_amb_glo.fdp
bgr_music.fdp
music.fdp - with the bgr sounds merged into it.

Hopefully this will give you enough examples on how to do it.

Okay,

I got that to work now and I was able to create a new soundfile also displayed in the Toolset. I hope it'll work once I finish the module. :))

Thank you!

I couldn't find the files. Are they gone now? I could use some examples on this, myself

The file is still there. It's the BGR Music FDP.zip
