First off:
Phenom II X6 1090T clocked at 4GHz, stable.
8GB DDR3-1600 Corsair Vengeance memory
eVGA e-GeForce 9600GT 512MB(I've played the game at max settings on this GPU before, seriously doubt this is the problem)
I also meet all other requirements.

I purchased the game through Steam and, as I said before, have run the game from start to finish without any troubles before on this same system.

I've narrowed down the problem to exactly when the game has to render Jacobs' character model during the start of the game(running from mechs, open door, jacobs is pinned behind cover).
I open the door, move forward about three steps and the game freezes and crashes.
If I open the door and wait a moment, I can hear Jacobs' voice, but if I run ahead after this, I still crash.

I've heard the ME1 had problems with overclocking. Is this also possible in ME2? I'd like to not disable my overclock just to play the game.

All Unreal Tournament 3 games are less stable with overclocked systems. Also, nVIDIA tends to forget about their Geforces more than a couple of years old, and games more than a year old, as they promote their new cards with new drivers; you may need to roll back the driver you are using now to whatever you used with this game previously.

In that case, I'll wait until I get my new GPU. Thank you for the quick reply.
