Hey Fellow MEs, I'll start.
I was having a terrible day and stayed home sick from work for a few days and was so bored of playing my other games that I thought to myself, "If I'm gonna be home sick for a while might as well get a new game to play."
My sister had the car that day so I couldn't leave. I told her to come home and pick up my 60 bucks and then go buy me something. After a little argument lol, I talked her into going to the store. She asked me what kind of games I like so she knows what to get. She also asked "You want another Star Wars game?"
She remembers me playing KOTOR constantly and she liked watching me play it. .... (PS. BIOWARE I WANT KOTOR 3!) So she finally left and came back with one brand spankin new, still in the plastic wrapping, game and said "Here you go you big baby! Now never make me do that again."
I looked down and the title reads MASS EFFECT. To be honest I was like, "WTF is this crap sis?" She replies "How the F am I suppossed to know what you wanted!?"
I then said "Okay fine whatever I'll try it out."
The disk tray pops open...
We both sit down...
It was night time btw so we turned off all the lights and sat in front of the big screen.
"WAIT THIS IS BIOWARE?" I yell out.
She responds "The F you talking about?"
"Nothin... just don't worry about it." I tell her, then take sip of my cough sryup.
I select New Career :
And thus was the story of how my sister and I played this game all the way through in two days with our jaws dropped to the floor... My sister asked me to choose Kaiden, I choose Ashley... My sister cried. I laughed at her.
.........she punched me in the shoulder..... really hard like.
At the very end the credits came up, and we were hooked forever. And that's my story!
Thanks for reading! Want to hear your stories too!

A friend of mine first mentioned it to me when we were talking about games. The title sounded familiar like I had seen it before. He told me it was the same company that made KOTOR (which was my first rpg) but at first I didn't think much of it. Later I was at my unlce's house and I was looking hrough his 360 games and I saw MASS EFFECT in bold letters.(collectors edition). So I borrowed it and never gave it back.
The same guy told me about ME2 so I went and got that and I was a happy camper.

since I was a Bioware fanboy for many years now, I knew Mass Effect was going to be "The ****" but at first that also annoyed me since, as you all know, ME was supposed to be an XBOX exclusive title (I even had a thread about it on the Softpedia forums, where I cursed Microsoft for their profiteering practices).
The excitement went down as the game was getting closer to release, and I also got lost with doing other things beside gaming, until one day that I was patrolling through a gamestore with some work colleagues and saw Mass Effect for the PC.. that re-ignited my fire and made me buy the game later on.

I, uh... I saw the ME1 E3 demo on Youtube. : /
Actually, I think I heard about it from a guy I was working with while I was still modding for Tamriel Rebuilt (for those who don't know, it's a massive ongoing mod project for TES3). Before that, I'd never played a Bioware game.
I was all like, "Dude, WTF is KOTOR?" and he was like, "DUDE, IT'S SUCH A SICK GAME!!" and I was trippin' by that point, 'cause I thought Morrowind was da best game evar. So, I was all "K, I'll check it," and he told me to check out this new **** called MASS EFFECT, and I was all, "Dude, WTF is Mass ERRECT," and he was like, "Man, it's the new sheet!"
So then I was like, "K, let's check this **** out," and then I was like :oooooooooooooooooooooo, and I shat a solid gold stereo and I was like, "DUDE, MASS ERRECT IS DA ****!!!" And he was just, like, "Told you, naow go clean yoself off."

I saw Adam Sessler ranting about the Fox News controversy with the alien sex scene. I'm drawn to controversy like Paris Hilton is drawn to peen, so of course I knew I needed to get my hands on this game. Much to my surprise, it also happened to be one of the best games I had ever played.

Saw many people talking good things about the first game and decided to give it a chance, and here I am.

First saw Mass Effect in a magazine which was hyping it up for it's "revolutionary" convo system. Then I found out it was from the makers of KOTOR, ment it became a release day purchase for me.

I had been playing through KOTOR quite a few times and loved it. (At this point this was pretty much my only contact with BioWare games - yeah, I know
) My half-brother then recommended I try out Mass Effect, I'd seen him play it a bit prior, but I wasn't really convinced. Eventually I tried it out. But before I made it past the first mission, I judged the game poor and moved on.
A month or two went by, and I found myself with nothing to do. So I picked the game up again, got to the Citadel.. And couldn't stop again. Now here I am, with 4+ ME1 playthroughs and 10+ in ME2, eagerly awaiting ME3.

I'd just bought my 360 and I was browsing games on IGN. Mass Effect caught my fancy so I bought it, now it's my favourite series.

Bought some kind of X360 mag two summers ago to get the Halo Wars demo. Said mag had a really big ME2 special and a five-pages excerpt from Revelation. I read up, got interested, and bought ME1 for the 360.
The rest is history.

I was playing Bioware fantasy games, but scorned the shooter. Then came DA2, and it upset me so much that I registered on the forums to wail about it. Days passed, but I still felt no urge to shut up. Then suddenly, Bioware gave ME2 to DA2 owners as a gift. I paused in my wailing to take a look at it.
Ever since, I felt no desire whatsoever to return to DA2 forums to complain. I forgot about DA2 entirely, in fact. I was too busy gushing about ME2.
Right, and THEN came the news about Cerberus in ME3. (laughs) I really should cease my habit at wailful ramblings. ME2 is definitely the best game I've ever played.

My GF's brother plays it and advertised it to me.
I finnaly got over my "Shooters s**k and Serious Sam is the only shooter I can take Serious"-attitude and loved it form the first moment.

Saw it on G4 I think.
Looks cool...
Oh, Xbox only? Ignore.
Years later in an AF Base Exchange
Hmph, Mass Effect on PC for $9.99?
The rest is history.

I knew about the game prior to release. One of my house mates always bought gaming mags and it really caught my eye. I hadnt played a Bioware game since Baldurs Gate 2 and was looking forward to getting it because I was sure it be good based on their history. Plus I love a good sci-fi Game! However at the time I was living between Uni and home so things were busy for a while and I was kind of short of money so I missed out on it for a few months.
I finally got round to getting it in April once things had settled down in my life again. Then I wondered why I had left it so long to get!!
Still have my order history on Play showing the date I got it.

Read the reviews. They raved about it, but I'm a PC player. Waited for the port. They raved about it more, but I still waited for the price to go down. Bought it when I found one for $30.
Pre-ordered ME2 and now ME3. Bought all the DLC too except Pinnacle station.

I was watching ECW on sci-fi (before the name change) and immediately after it the Sci vs Fi special for MAss Effect 2 came on. I watch it and was enamord with it so I bought ME2 played it, loved it, then borrowed ME1 from my friend because he said the second one was different depending on what you did in the first one and I loved it. I've since gotten every achievement in both games so I plan on doing the same for ME3.

After Fallout 3 rekindled my love of gaming I got to thinking there must be other great games out there that I'm missing. I found a list of the top 25 games for the 360 that suited my tastes and Mass Effect was number 4 so I tried it and liked it a lot.
