If you don't, you will doom the galaxy even if you defeat the Reapers.

P.S.
No Lazarus Project for squadmate.

P.P.S.
Galaxy civilizations wouldn't be destroyed, but it would be in complete disoray and anarchy( pirate attacks, crime high, poor security, lot of refuges and etc.).

Uh, of course? What would be the point in saving someone only to doom them and everyone else in the galaxy later on?

Ya, but I wouldn't do it for a planet.

I'm such a romantic.

Yes, and I wouldn't need to, because she would sacrifice herself to save the galaxy.

That would be hard, My favorite squadmate is my Shepard's LI and I don't know if I would sacrifice Liara without having Shepard sacrificing herself as well.

Yes, the needs of one versus the needs of many. However my Shepard wouldn't be able to live with himself.

If their was a way for my Shepard to sacrafice himself instead that's what I'll do.

...riiiight.

But I'll play along. Yes, I would sacrifice my favourite squadmate, but only if it leads to an emotional scene!!!

Fail to see how he/she can hold the fate of the galaxy in his/her hands, so I'll say no. The galaxy can burn.

Fock no.

Disarray and anarchy is what I absolutely like. Perfect ending.

Who the fock in their right mind wants to restore the Galaxy to complete order? What would Shepard do then? Babysit?

People like Udina and Mikhailovich will make sure Shepard gets tried and executed if Shepard defeats the Reapers completely. Hell, they want to put Shepard on trial for what happened in Arrival.

These people aren't worth sacrificing your favorite napkin for, let alone your favorite squadmate. I say let the galaxy burn out and cleanse itself- and on its ashes we shall rebuild a new future.

You'd have to.  There's no other alternative.  Suppose, for a second, you saved the favorite squad member?  What would they think of you?  Do you think Garrus, for example, would say "Hey, thanks for saving me.  Too bad about all those pirate attacks, though."  No, it'd be more like....

"Dammit Shepard, are kidding me?  You have to STOP THEM, no matter the cost!"

OK, I might toss out a non-homeworld for any of the ME1 crew and Samara.

Edit:

Still, none of those listed would agree with my choice, and would likely sacrifice themselves anyway, with or without my permission.

Yes.

And anyway, Thane already went on one mission intending to die. If he had to go on another to ensure a Reaper defeat, I'm sure he'd do so gladly.

I'd save my Love interest! Just so I could see a world-ending-fail in a video game.

Fable 3. Though it's a pretty terrible game.

You can say that again.  2010 disappointment of the year.  *mumbles about Peter M being a lying POS.*

My Shepard would probably suicide soon after if he'd have to sacrifice his LI.

If it means sacrificing the ENTIRE galaxy then... I might. If it means saving 1 or 2, perhaps 3 races (other than humanity) then no.

It goes without saying I wouldn't even sacrifice my least favorite squadmate, or even an unnamed crewmember, to save the batarian race, as far as I'm concerned, they're goners (evil laugh)

I still have to find a plausible scenario for this kind of situation, but I can't say what I'll do if that will happen. The first impulse will be to save the character, but neither I'd like to let the reaper win... if forced probably I'll let that Shepard sacrifice himself in place of the character, or that dies side by side with it, if we're talking of his LI.

The choice would be hard in any case, especially if that squadmate would be Liara or Garrus. It all depends on the scenario. Will the choice be clearly presented or will it all happen in-action? My impulse would be to save the squadmate and think about the consequences later.
