ME1's scenes were good and I honestly don't mind the sex being implied rather than shown like in ME2.

I saw the Witcher 2 scene in a thread a while back and I really just...don't care to see MShep plowing into Miranda while grunting or Thane thrusting into FShep or something.

As long as there's no dry-humping and the build-up is handled well, I ultimately don't mind.

However, I would personally like to see things go a little further in to naked territory. Careful positioning of cameras will ensure we don't have any WAT HAZ BEEN SEEN CANNOT BE UNSEEN moments (most notably with Garrus's/Tali's/Thane's genitalia)... and as curious as I may be about Liara's azure, I'd still rather avoid letting a camera angle point there during full nudity scenes. That would be pushing in to porn territory anyway.

ME1 pretty much had it correct in bed. Though I was wondering WTF Shep was fully clothed sat on the desk for... why not stay nekkid and lay by that gorgeous person you just smexed?

^^ This! It would be nice to have a full-on romance that actually feels like a romance and not just one quickie before battle and than awkward post-war canoodling. Since they're continuing romances that have already been established (with permanent party members it looks like) I hope that the couples will actually feel like couples, not just squadmates who happened to bang that one time.

well because he's gotta emotionally detach himself incase ashleys head gets blown off by a geth sniper. can't get overly emotionally invested right before a big battle

I think different characters warrant different types of scenes. I don't mean to generalize anybody, but those wanting Miranda might be appropriate to a more...stimulating scene - whilst those dealing with Tali might want something more lowkey.
Personally I know my prerogatives changed as I tried each romance.

I think that "mature sex scenes" is being misinterpreted, at least as I understand it. To me, a "mature" sex scene would be one which touches on more than just the "titillation" of seeing people naked and humping each other, it would acknowledge the passion and sensuality of the moment, it would at least try to show the emotion between the partners. In this regard, there are plenty of PG-13 sex scenes in movies which are far hotter than any R-rated scenes, and definitely more interesting/arousing than a lot of the pornography out there.

I just don't understand why Bioware went to the trouble of getting their game rated M anyway due to the violence & language... then said to themselves "Well we're rated M.... but uh... sex... yeah that's evil, dirty dirty stuff... can't have that in the game... even though we're already rated M... let's make the romance & sex stuff like a PG-13 movie instead."

It's like making a R rated film due to gory violence.. then making a character say "Die you mean person!" instead of "Die mother fu-----!" ... well you get the idea.

PG, ME2 was PG. PG-13 movies show more skin.

Despite being a fan of Garrus romance, I don't wanna watch him and Shepard having sex. I'm quite satisfied with ME2 way of handling things. A few more... exposed romance scenes may be fine, but let's not go all the way down there.

The first romance I did in ME2 was the Garrus romance because well, who can resist Garrus?  When it faded and ended I thought I had like pressed to skip the scene or something.  It felt, incomplete.  I don't know how a Turian and a Human could do it but that scene ended very very oddly like some strange interspecies awkwardness thing.

Look at your Box. ME2 received a M rating from the ESRB... Bioware knew it would be rated M due to language & violence... which is why it is baffling that since they knew their game was going to be rated M, why did they make the romance / sexual content PG-13 (or rated T by ESRB standards).

ME2's sex scenes are a lot like DA2's. Very emotionally unsatisfying. In DA2 Isabella jumped up with her enormous butt and thunder thighs and locked onto my poor little femHawke like she was trying to escape snakes on the floor. Any other LI's scenes were fully clothed and VERY brief. I am afraid there will be more of the same for ME2 unfortunately. ME and DAO were much better at the RPG elements, imo. Then EA enters the scene and things go milk-toasty from there. Bleh.

Can you list a few? Not to come off as a jerk or anything but I'm simply curious on how a PG-13 sex scene is that much superior to a R-rated scene. Would even help me come up with suggestions for bioware

i would prefer if Shepard and the LI had a more natural relation. Shepard already slept with the LI at least once and spent an entire game romancing them (2 in Liara's case). It would make no sense for Shepard and the LI to hold off on any display of emotion when the crew already knows they're an item (well, it would make sense if you cheated on them). Like the scene in my sig, I don't want sex to be treated as some holy and sacred end-all be-all. I want scenes similar to ME2s after the suicide mission where Shepard can call the LI to his/her cabin and lay in bed naked (under the sheets of course) or visit the LI where s/he dwells and kiss them.

DA:O got the romance option right, if not the sex scene. Kissing Morrigan and Leliana no matter where we were, inviting them to my tent, talking about the act and making casual conversation. Despite the joke of a sex scene, these small tidbits really made me care for the characters as far more than barbies and were something the sexual sorely lacked.

Shepard already had sex with his/her LI and the crew knows it, so why pretend like it never happened? As for the sex scenes themselves, like you guys have said: nudity is nice as long as they don't go full penthouse on us. Art in all its forms, literature, music, movies, plays, photography, painting, sculptures, etc included nudity of both genders and this is readily apparent if one ever visits Europe or played Assassins Creed. If videogames are to ever be treated as a form of art instead of something limited to 12 year old nerds then developers have to prove it that it can appeal to human emotions.
