Wow, it looks even better than I'd hoped it would be.

Even more exciting, to me, is that if the game is made this well, it bodes well for the new Thief game they're working on. I can't wait. It's been too long.

I bought Thief on sale yesterday! I can't wait for Thief 4. Do you know if it will be at E3?

This will be better than anything Bioware could make and it's simply a beta.

Thief 3:Deadly Shadows? If so, enjoy your trip to the Shalebridge Cradle. Even though I prefer the first two games, that level is one of my favorites of any game.

*knock knock KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

I'm not sure if they'll say anything at E3. I'd guess they're going to wait until after the new Deus Ex is released before they start talking to the press and public.

Been watching it in YouTube... absolutely floored me!

Can't believe how good it looks... I want to rifle through people's apartments, read newspapers and throw fire extinguishers at hobos :D Ahhh, a proper Blade Runner-in-an-RPG experience, finally. Well, since the original Deus Ex.

Companies create new things for games, and then that is used throughout the industry if it is innovative or revolutionary.

3D targeting was first done by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. All the other games who ripped off of that are illegitimate? It's now industry standard if applicable to a game.

I checked out the video...the main features I care about are here for this game. Interesting take on interactive fiction. I was very skeptical about this game because I do not trust Square Enix, but this little beta made me more interested in it. I doubt highly I will get it immediately, but only because of budget restraint. Only top games get launch day purchase. I will get this new when it comes down in price.

Any game that has a save feature is also a ripoff of the original Legend of Zelda!

Thanks for the link OP. It does look like Mass Effect in the gun fights. The intro scene reminds me of rebuilding Shepard too. Then again Mass Effect isn't exactly the first of it's kind either so I'm not complaining. Interesting game.

Reminded me a bit of Mass Effect 2 from the video. Not sure what it was exactly that reminded me of that though. Looks like it holds some promise, although the animation could have been better.

Yeah the visual design was similar to ME only with a yellow tinge.

It's obvious they scrutinized ME2's beginning.

The design style is similar, but the only thing that I noticed that looked lifted was the guy being killed behind the glass.

Thief is my second favourite game of all time (behind X-Com/UFO Enemy Unknown) but I wouldn't expect too much from Thief 4. Thief 3 had basically only 1 level up to the standard of the first 2 games, the aforementioned Shalebridge Cathedral.

Right...

forums.eidosgames.com/showpost.php  <--- "If you can, send me or post here links to other boards and what people
are saying. As you can imagine, I have a lot on my hands right now (this
and E3...), but I want to know what others are thinking.
"

or this is the thread on Eidous own forums with people discussing it, myself included, and maybe that's how I first found out.

I honestly expected this to suck, I just couldn't see how it could live up to the first game. But after seeing what people think of this leaked beta, I'm looking forward to its release.

I think Deus Ex3 and ME3 will be my two favorite Sci - RPG's in the winter.
Witcher 2 and Skyrim are my favorite fantasy RPG's of this year, since they screwed up DA2.

1. it's a leaked beta
2. it's not the full game
3. eidos themselves said they don't care

Pfft...don't give them credit. They've been ****ing up for an entire decade and the best thing they got now is what is possibly the magnum opus for Eidos.

Eidos has been making good games for years (not recent years >.<) .

Hitman
Deus Ex (Ion Storm baby)
Tomb Raider
Thief (Metal Age is in my top 10 fav games)
Timesplitters
Fear Effect

God remember Fear Effect...survival horror with lesbomancy.

Graphics are solid, has a very clean and detailed look. Character models are ok but not great. Sarif HQ seems pretty big. I like the overall art style.

Shooting is lacking something, and it has no health indicator just a red screen effect, which I don't like.

Pretty impressive though overall.

Just remember graphics are set to low I think...most likely textures don't look good.
