The load times haven't been too bad. At most on my PC they've been ~20-30 seconds or shorter. I think its mostly that even at normal difficulty Jensen can die pretty quickly if you get out in the open in a fight or if you want to try a different approach you'll likely be loading more than in other games.

I thought this has been one of the worse parts of this game, getting killed by nervous thugs almost instantly AFTER my augmentation.
I thought I could play as I liked but this is a stealth game or at least heavily biased in that direction.

Edit: I also died after droppin twenty feet, something I can do in real life without hurting myself let alone dieing and or breaking like a cheap toy.

I've adjusted to the somewhat mediocre graphics well and I'm enjoying myself now. I kind of enjoy the more realistic gun damage, but the enemy AI really needs some work and is generally content to let you wait around a doorway for your health to fill up while they fire hundreds of rounds at the wall behind you. The story and gameplay choices have thus far been simply adequate. It has a lot of room to impress me to be any sort of memorable experience, but it was a good purchase for the game drought.

Yeah, Jensen needs a special augmentation to replace his chalk bones with actual human bone.

Just want to let everybody know that this game sucks balls. It's a generic Splinter Cell Conviction wannabe.

Except it's less scripted and more realistic.

I'm still going to wait for Steam sale next year before picking HR up. Interested but not a must have for me right now.

Is anybody that hasn't played the other games getting anything from the story? Am I just not far enough yet? I'm just past the Police Department.

I don't see the complaints about graphics. I'm running it on med-hi and it looks great to me, a very 'clean' art style like the old Deus Ex and some nice particle effects. And I love the menu system in this game. They really did a good job with it.

And its nice to play a shooter on PC that lets you adjust the Field of View. Thats a very nice touch.

Just finished the tutorial mission. Took me 3 bloody hours. Died a lot. It was a pretty big building and I took my time, explored every nook and cranny. Mostly I did stealth, but I couldn't help dealing with some groups with force. I basically either submitted or killed all but two enemies. Trying to talk down the terrorist at the end was a nice touch. Why they laid the stereotypes on pretty thick is beyond me.

Stealth takes a lot of patience, not sure I'll be able to go that route each time. I like to kill too.  I hope there's a bonus for taking out every enemy on a mission.

Stealth doesn't seem like it would be that much fun. Yeah, you can move when enemies look away, but the options I've found for navigating in creative ways are limited. Maybe I'm missing things, stealth isn't my style. I plan out my shots and usually use the handgun, but I like shooting things.

Oh boy, now I have done it. In my waiting time I have started yet another Deus Ex playthrough. The game actually looks all right with the NewVision mod and DirectX 10 effects.
I usually take the stealthy force approach, using stealth to take out some initial enemies and get me into a good position, maybe snipe some guys but most often I take out pretty much everyone. I found it to be the most effective tactic. From what you guys are saying it sounds like that will be a good approach in HR as well.
Oh and thanks to everyone for keeping down the spoilers. I like reading this thread but I am always afraid I'll stumble across a really bad spoiler. All good so far, cheers!

I got about a quarter of the way through the first mission before I just gave up and started blasting fools if I got discovered. The game clearly rewards you more for stealth/non-lethality so maybe I'll try again later on.

Talk about rotten luck. I picked up my copy today and played right up after the intro cutscene only to have my PC die on a non-related issue. Now I have to re-install Windows :crying:
As Applebloom once said: "I want it now!"

Another thing, why do we always have to scrounge for money in these games? Both Cerberus and Sarif spend a fortune rebuilding us just so we can run around the first part of the game under-equipped?

I've just been spending all of my money on praxis, which I can rarely afford even not buying anything else. I just recently got around to buying some handgun bullets. In this game you would swear that 10mm cartridges are a rare commodity. No, I don't need more revolver rounds, are there a lot of Dirty Harry sorts in the future?

There's a free assault rifle at Jensen's apartment.

The game has very strong point . Like the whole stealh and some of the scenery  .. But most character are complety forgetable and i can't play in DX11 without crashing.

The story is a bit boring . Because there's just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much useless long speech given by useless NPC.

Not enough persuasion check either . I enjoyed this .

I got addicted to the hacking mini game. Lots of cool rewards on the leaked beta too. Can't wait to play the release version as soon as it is available here.... who knows when that may be though... *sighs*

I don't understand the hacking bit, I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't read the directions very well so I just click as fast as I can.

Most of the time unless you have 2 or more capture augmentations and just want to rack up programs on low-level hacks it seems best to just go for the...green globe, forget what that's supposed to represent. I don't usually fortify unless I'm still undetected and up against a really high level node. I would probably do so more often if I got the fortify augs. Hacking is going to take a lot of your points if you really want to get into it. Luckily I use my pistol most of the time and that isn't too heavily reliant on the combat augs.

On the PC version at least, the patch from today really really sped up the load times.

And I gave up on my no kill stealth run once I realized how to hack and carry around turrets.

Steam hasn't notified me of any patches. My version is 1.1.622.0

Is that the updated version?
