Okay, so at certain parts of the game my party members, or whoever i'm talking to's voice stutters and repeats it self like five times! I've tried the "Set affinity fix" by switching off one of my cores, but that doesn't help.
I'm running on a:
Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T9400 @2.53GHz
4.00GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT.
The forums haven't helped me at all, so if anyone knows any type of fix, or idea that might help please reply!!

Do you have any mods installed? Is it just the voice over that stutters, or does the captioning repeat as well?

I don't have any mods installed, and its only the voice that stutters, but I did download the toolset but that isn't installed either.

Are your drivers, particularly audio drivers, up to date? Does this reliably happen at the exact same place in the game every time? If so, when and where? Is one companion more affected than others and/or are any companions not affected? Has this always happened or did it start recently? The more information you can provide, the easier it will be to help you find a solution.

Also, which edition and install type of the game do you have? (Ultimate/standard/collectors, disc/EADM/Steam) What patch do you have?

It seems to always happen in the beginning of every origin story, and in the korcari wilds when you first meet Morrigan, as for companion's there all affected in the same way, it happens randomly, so i don't really know, but i have the standard addition, and this has always happened, i'm running on patch 1.02 since the later patches make it even worse. Oh, and its on a disk.

I seem to remember this issue coming up for a few people early on. I seem to remember that checking the "force stereo audio (for headphones) helped some people for some reason.

One of my audio drivers was actually not up to date, so I'm gonna see if it fixed it. Also, where can you find the force stereo audio setting is it in the actual game or is it somewhere else on the PC just to make sure? Actually never mind about the force sterio thing i found it. i will post again later to say if it is working or not

It did help by switching on the force sterio audio setting, and i think the updated audio drivers helped too, but it still does stutter it just does it like every 10 minutes instead of every 5, so i'm not sure what else i should try...any other ideas?

1) Have you tried a fresh install of the game? It's possible that something didn't install correctly or became corrupted early on.
2) Have you tried lowering the games video settings? This game relies heavily on the CPU, so if it is over-burdened it might show up as audio stutter. My desktop specs are slightly better than yours and I get audio lag if I have everything turned all the way up.
3) Are you up to date with all Windows updates? I've seen a few reports of people who resolved their issues after updating to the latest service pack. I couldn't even hazard a guess as to which update made the difference, but BW tests the games on fully updated systems and odd things can cause issues.
4) If you have tried the above, you may want to try the newer patches. I know you experienced more problems in the past, but it may interact differently with the updated audio drivers.
After that, I'm fresh out of ideas for the moment. Someone else may have a solution I haven't come up with, though. Don't give up just yet.

Another potential source of trouble: Do you have any other unnecessary programs such as a media player or instant messenger running in the background? Another player spent a year grumbling about frequent crashes only to discover that they magically stopped as soon as Windows Media Player was turned off.

I've found that the Enhanced Atmosphere mod can cause some stuttering. Vanilla DA:O does have stutter glitches, they're not uncommon. They are also prevalent and have been reported in Mass Effect 1 and 2 and Dragon Age 2.
It may just be a game glitch that's unfixable. If it's not causing any major problems, I suppose you should just overlook it.
